Converting sprint to a PVP like toggle in cities would be an extremely easy fix.

Also changing city teleporting so you can open your map and teleport to any crystal directly would not be very challenging to implement.

When formulating QOL changes for a game you have to find easy ways for your suggestions to be implemented or indeed it would take away from development in other areas.

Using a system that is already in place in a different area of the game achieves this goal.

Options to fix this problem thus far.

#1 Implement a zero cooldown sprint, a perma sprint or a sprint buff as soon as you enter a city that does not allow mounts.

VeyaAkemi suggests below "Give us PvP Sprint while out of combat and instances, toggle on, falls off if you take any action, and as a bonus point, action changes to normal Sprint while in places you can't use toggable sprint, that's all I'd want."

#2 Add collision detection around important in game assets such as quest giving NPCs and retainer bells. Allowing players to stand on top of important assets allows for griefing in not only cities but the world as a whole.

#3 Better aethernet systems. Optimizing crystal teleportation so if you are inside the city already you can open your map and teleport to any of the aethernet crystals directly instead of having to teleport to the main hub and then to a smaller hub afterwards. This removes an extra step that is not needed and is not streamlined for QOL. Also adding more teleport locations would be another option.

Press M in city to open map > click on any aethernet crystal > teleport directly to any crystal inside city from any location inside city

The game is pretty good at handling that collision problem. The npc moves to another area on a phase for people on the quest. I find 99% when you think a bunch of people are stacked on your npc; you’re slightly in the wrong space. (Like he’s 15 feet behind you)

its always 100% easier to suggest something like this city teleporting but do you have have any idea of the code involved? I dont, so do you KNOW its an easy fix or are you just assuming? Do you know for a fact that its as simple as treating in city map like you would the continent to pick up the carious crystals around town, or does that start impacting how the main teleportation hubs work outside of teh city? it would be an AWESOME QoL update if the main teleport list suddenly was even longer with every mini crystal located in various city districts around the game /s

since I dont know about sprint in pvp because I dont pvp, rather harder to comment on that, but "adding a toggle" is not always an easy solution depending on how many other things function off of that.

sure, it all SOUNDS easy, but are you really sure it is?

A lot of people out there would actually enjoy this as a QoL update, and I'm sorry that you're so stuck in your ways that you can't seem to understand that. It's not as if anyone would ever force you to use it either.

my apologies. I was under the impression I was allowed to express an opinion. but you are right. please, institute this into the game so lots of people can shave off wasted seconds.

It's funny to see you playing the victim when you were essentially telling other people that their own opinions were invalid, especially when we're discussing a QoL feature that isn't going to impact anyone in a negative way.

Going by how the thread is going, why not just cut out the middle man that is travel and just have pull down tab or something that lets you select town amenities? lmao

honestly, I would rather see time spent on QoL improvements like fixing Viera and Hrothgar than something that shaves off a second or two. I was not saying they were invalid at all, I was contributing to the thread by trying to express why it was not a huge QoL improvement given other long standing issues that people playing those races see every time they log in. I am certainly not thinking I am a victim, shaving off seconds in town isnt going to improve my gaming existence, but for you, obviously it would. So, I certainly hope they address it since it means that much to you and the OP. The viera and hrothgar wont mind, they have been waiting for ages already, whats a bit more time? ^^

As someone who loves Vieras I don't think this will impact their improvements in any way. The players can speak for themselves and anyone can take a second to get that the same people aren't involved.

What's with this pushback? You're trying literally any angle to shut them down. It's just a toggled Sprint in cities.
