Slap stick comedy is kinda their thing, honestly. Not too surprising that they incorporate it when and where they can.

The thing about slapstick comedy is that it's one of the purest form of comedy, meaning it transcends any need for cultural reference, unlike other kinds of comedy. It's easier to find people around the worlds who laughs at silly man getting bit by a dog in the crotch because anyone can easily understand the situation.

But, all in all, Hildy quests are a complete hit or a complete miss. There doesn't seem to be a middle point.

Yep, exactly.

Asahi, hands down, but he's meant to be unlikable so they got that right, and I'm fairly certain the current Fandaniel persona was just an excuse to bring him back. Other characters that I don't necessarily dislike but consider... "narratively wasted" would be Zenos, Lyse, Y'shtola, and the entirety of the PLD questline.

Can't remember her name but she is about as useless as she is good looking. Sorry we can't do anything about the raping and murders around my city state...the trees are sad.
