If you take pride in your way of enjoying games, why does there also need to be the arrogance of belittling others for their way?

There is nothing stopping you from spamming Brayflox as a reaper. I would rather not, so Im glad I can jump into things I enjoy sooner.
I personally enjoy the leveling process in games. So I get it. However, the way the jobs and abilities work in FFXIV it's not quite the same. Your rotations have to pretty much completely change once you get to max level. People enjoy different things. For some it's the journey and not the destination. Others hate the leveling process and would like it to not exist. Personally I don't think either viewpoint is wrong and I also think SE has hit a fairly happy medium between both camps. Some won't like it for whatever reason, but it's not something SE can just "fix" for one camp because people in the other camp would be furious.
As for other comments made in the thread - yes it can be overwhelming to get a new job with all these abilities you know nothing about. I take those to the training dummy and play around to figure out how they flow so I can adjust my hotbars to what works for me.
ignore fae/pixie/abdl person posts
don't post in fae/pixie/abdl person threads
report fae/pixie/abdl person posts when they inadvertently insult someone again and get banned like the 5? accounts before this one
Personally, the only change I would like to see is that if you want to play the new healer/tank, you need to have one from that role at least at the level that new job unlocks at. A basic understanding of the role should be a requirement for the jobs that unlock at higher levels and throw you into more difficult content than Sastasha
I think the issue is not leveling
but how the journey of leveling, like many Korean MMO it include endless meaningless grind, gather a group of mobs and kill it, repreat. This is terrible way to slow down player progression
But if the leveling progress involving learning lore of an area and background of my job, and sharpening the character skill tree, then the leveling progress could be very interesting.
FFXIV seem to be more focus on end game, reaching 90 is only the beginning, and the rotation only start to mature when you get near level cap
I played Reaper in the MSQ and I'm glad that the grind wasn't longer. Anyone can go to PotD for a quick leveling experience. I wouldn't be opposed to a way of skipping the 70-80 grind. A Stone, Sky, Sea trial for example could act as a filter and let the people who can quickly pick up a new job do so without having to grind fates for hours.
I've always felt that if they were going about job levels so high to at least require the player to have that specific role at that level first so the general flow and understanding should be there. Having someone with a DPS high level only playing a tank or healer so high always felt jarring from a general perspective. It was already bad enough when DRK was 30 and tanks would still use provoke as a ogcd in their rotation during alexander back in the day.
