MSQ cutscenes - Allow vote to skip if there are no first time/new players

I never advised anyone I simply acknowledged the reality of the situation that could and does happen fairly regularly when I used to consistently run msq more than once a day for my old fc.
I am okay with people cheesing prae just like I'm okay with people kicking said cheesers.

"Lazy" is subjective and you left it up to open interpretation in your original post.

You shouldn't leave subjective words up for open in their own sentences. Just like you assumed I was a part of a situation you assumed I would interpret your words in a certain way.

Though I'm not really concerned about being matched with anyone as I'll either kick someone or leave if I don't agree with their playstyle.
I only "defend" and make "excuses" for these people because people are surprised by the reality of the situation when it's a very apparent and logical stance for people to afk in the environment SE has created for msq.

Just DC during them and rejoin, if you do not pull the bosses then I doubt anyone will care enough to report you.

SE just need to go ahead and fix it. Chop it down 4 man dungeons because it never needed 8. Make the cutscenes skippable and split it up so the actually important cutscenes don't play mid dungeons. Like prae should end before the nero fight and have two trials to finish out the rest of the content thats in it now.

If you have to heavily bribe your veteran players run content for new players you have messed up.

This would apply to every story dungeon and trial in the game. It's the entire point of most roulettes.

Gil rewards are about the same across roulettes. Proportionally speaking, MSQ roulette isn't much more EXP efficient than leveling or alliance raid roulettes. They all exist to bribe veteran players to run old content; that isn't some sign that SE has messed up.

Gil rewards are best with the "adventurer in need" bonus across all roulettes. I've made a huge amount of gil over time with that.

You have? Yoshida has literally said the present buffed rewards are compensation for players watching a marathon of cut scenes they've already seen. The whole reason MSQ Roulette rewards such a staggering amount is due to the sheer length. If people had the option to skip them if there weren't new players, they'll absolutely start kicking them or setting up PFs that refuse to take new players. Both of which defeats the very purpose of those added incentives.

Which they have said will take substantial work. Are you prepared to sacrifice new content so the dev team can essentially remake an old dungeon the vast majority of us no longer care about? All because some people keep queuing for a Roulette they aren't obligated to.

Nobody will deny it was a poor decision. Even the devs acknowledge that since they never attempted it again. But the easiest solution is to just... not queue for MSQ Roulette.

Yes, exactly! I’ve had some absolutely amazing conversations while doing either of the dungeons. So much so it’s part of why they have a spot in my heart, as it were; when I was first playing this game and got to those dungeons, the players that had fun with it and chatted it up made it a truly wonderful experience.

I know not every group is like that, but goodness, it’s really fun when it is. ^_^

Just to add to the bonfire- it's a good change to force the cutscenes imho.

My friend did castrum way back before it was forced and even said "Hey guys I'm, new sorry/thanks for waiting!". They did not wait. They apparently said "Ah just sit back and watch the cutscenes if you want".

He couldn't figure out where to go (the trash chute thing) and eventually the dungeon was just over because by the time he found the final boss area he was locked out of it. I wasn't in the instance with him, but he basically said "If this is how the game is going to be from here on with 8-man content, I'm out."

I tried to explain to him that it wasn't but it left a really bad taste in his mouth and he eventually quit before reaching HW.
