Role quest in Endwalker worry me. Job quest make this an RPG

I understand that for a lot of more recent jobs, it kind of huts to not have more job quests compared to ones that were in the game since ARR or HW. I sure wish i'd have more adventures with the RDM crew, but if we at least have some bigger quest after the role ones, to advance/conclude more of the job related stories (like seeing X'rhun's daughter make progress etc) that'd be fine.

Removing job quests does not mean "throw out the entire RPG element of this game" - that is just false hyperbole. The RPG elements of this game do not depend on having class/job specific quests. The vast majority of RPG (computer as well as pen-and-paper) does, after all, not have any class-specific quests, so clearly it is not a core component of RPGs.

^ 2 minutes in he starts to review Classes and Alts. This is a new video made just yesterday.

THIS IS ONE VIDEO out of hundreds being made praising the job systems quest that the jaded FF14 vets seem to dislike because they want to rush to end game. Listen to how he describes job quest vs how WoW treats their classes. This is the biggest mistake I have seen an MMO developer make in fundamental core design since WoW started embracing borrowed power systems as a power progression model. You can get away with it once but it backfires back by the second time and if you do it for a third time the backlash is worse.

To anyone saying I am overreacting please find me a video where someone is complaining about job quest sucking and praising role quest. I can guarantee you there is a snowballs chance in hell that video exist on the internet and cutting back on job quest because it is cheaper or "more efficient" is corporate talk for saving money. It is transparent excuse for not wanting to put development time into something you deem to be not important but every single review of that system praises it.

All of these Youtube creators that are praising these systems now will be the ones posting NEGATIVE videos about FF14 in the future because they will see these changes. The role quest in Shadowbringers should have been side quest. Using something you were allowed by the playerbase to do one time in Shadowbringers as a story telling mechanism as a permanent design decision will be looked back on as a mistake.

I beg you to do some research on World of Warcraft in how class quest used to be vs how they are now. I was there when people like you said it was better to get rid of all of the class quest because it would be easier for people to get to end game quicker. When Blizzard finally listened and caved it was a massive mistake. People no longer had any connection to their classes and could care less what was changed. Right now the changes being made to core Final Fantasy systems are being done to save money on developing quest and to make it easier for a developer to overhaul a job.

I too want job quest those felt more personal, but we will be having 21+ classes, giving them all quests would be to much.

I don't care about World of Warcraft or how they do or did things.
I am not saying removing jobs quests would be a good thing, not at all. And I am most definitely not saying it would be good to get to the end game quicker - the end game is the most boring part in all the MMOs I have played so far.
I am saying your arguments on how removing job quests signficantly reduce the RPG element of FFXIV is false and have little connection to reality.

Maybe you should because once they got rid of job quest in WoW it became far easier to do class "redesigns" to fit someones vison of how the class should play that expansion....then that patch....then that month. I'm am sorry you think the summoner questline where you learn about your EGI's, the Alagan empire and the struggles of NPC"s that would otherwise be nameless are not as interesting as GENERIC DPS ROLE QUEST [Insert Expansion Name here]. I apologize that one of the GREATEST job quest in MMO history under Dark Knight where you deal with the struggles of your inner demons and overcome them leading to the promotion of a lore writer who then made the GREATEST lore storyline mmo expansions in my lifetime is not as cool as GENERIC DPS ROLE QUEST [Insert Expansion Name here].

Damn boy, you're talking as if all the job quests were going to be removed from the game and replaced by fetch quests with no relations with the roles we play, talking to unnamed NPCs and no overarching story to those quests.
