Please dont just stand there. Learn to move.

Sometimes when I read people talk about these games I wonder if they're even playing them and having fun?
Am I the only one who actually think it's fun to dodge things?
Same with stunning them from casting AoE, that's part of the fun imo and where the energy comes from it gives me a little kick to tap to the mob quickly and stun them.
Or the stat debuff ability, I like to throw it in too if there's a mechanic that benefits from it.

Just standing in one place and not reacting to anything just sounds really boring to me.

Edit: What I mean is, it seems like a trend that people are actively trying to minimzie the amount of actual playing they do in games.

Personally I would not mind more instant kill mechanics and a higher frequency especially in normal mode content

If a person blatantly stands in AoEs and makes me use a ton of mana to heal them, I don't heal them. Simple as that. There are others in the group that are working hard to get through the content.

Granted, there are quite a number of AoEs or other telegraphed attacks one can stand in and take minimal damage/debuff w/o greatly impacting DPS or finishing a boss off.

There is a line between the two, however.

Oh sweet baby jeebuz yes to this! Those orange stack markers or the red inverted triangles people just run away from and then wonder why everyone died. *sigh*

This is why I really think Tutorials on mechanics need to be better, at least basic ones you'll then run into as you continue though the game.

I agree.
As a new Tank the tutorials in game have only taught me "Avoid the orange on the ground".
I had to figure out myself that, "Oh hey! Some of my abilities can stop the orange stuff from happening!"
I have not so far learned any other mechanic other than "Avoid Orange stuff"

As a new tank i wonder if i can live thru the orange stuff. Do i NEED to always dodge it? Im a tank Im supposed to be tough right? What can I withstand? Will the healer get mad if I eat an AoE and it hurts a lot? Will DD get mad because i dodged and now the boss has moved?
