My point isn't that they have another MMO in the works. I don't know that. What I'm saying is that their commentary points to a very different beast to XIV should they do that. Ergo, the concern is less about sub cannibalisation and more to do with 1) do we have the resources and 2) is the return on investment sufficient to warrant it?

Following from that, if they're planning to invest in another MMO, I don't see it as likely that they'd make any sizeable investments into XIV, such as those that that poster mentioned, but rather would maintain the existing model. Thus my reply to him.

it doesnt say who will be translating but it will have english so you wont need someone else to unofficially translate this announcement showcase.

We currently have no confirmed due date for the next expansion, due to COVID kicking the schedule around. They're back on schedule, but those lost months are still gone.

As Mollusk said, things are a couple months behind, on both the developers side and on the player side (in terms of us being a couple months behind in the story from where we "should" be at this point). This actually does raise some question as to exactly what will be ready to show and what can be shown without potentially spoiling content we haven't reached yet in the story but would have if the game were not behind.

I am expecting the announcement of the expansion. Outside of that I have no expectations for jobs, races (I have HOPES for that, but no expectations), or even a set release date.

My WISHES are a new healer, rolling back the healer homogenization, expanded character customization (including the missing genders, fixing the hair and hat situation), and, y'know, a good story, good setting. Keep Matsuno and Ishikawa, please.
