If I am missing something. The way the translation sounded was not Global cross-play but regional cross-play. So NA being one group Europe one group and Japan its own group. The ping should be no different since you are still connecting to same center and still traveling down the same section of the net.

We'd want regional cross-play, not international. IE Light can play with Chaos again, Aether, Primal and Crystal are together etc. The technology clearly exists if WoW was able to pull this off and they had more localisation and data centers to merge up than we do.
