Yes we need more. I want to ride a Sephiroth.
Yeah that turned out well for all the people riding it...wait.
Anyways I think people who don't understand us who don't want monster mounts are missing the point we are trying to make. I for one dislike the Goobue mount because it degrades the monster as a powerfull being, I'm sorry but watching 50 of them stomp around like drooling idiots doesn't conjur the same image I got when they had a mage on full watch to control the thing.
Aesthetics is deeply subjective but telling people they can't base their arguments on aesthetics is being assanine as it's just as good a reason to not want something as anything else. The mountable monsters serve no purpose aside from bothersome eyesores to me at least. Do I demand SE never include them? No it's up to them but if your going to ask me I'd rather not have every tom-dick and harry riding a monster with rows of razor like teeth just because they had a short chat with a traveling Bard.
But I digress, people who love riding anything everything will instead of forming a logical debate downsize me as a idiot who doesn't want anything added to the game for that's the basis of almost any argument on these forums if you are displeased or don't agree with something being added to the game.
If the mounts had some purpose aside from the exact same thing you Chocobo did it would be a different story, but even in that case I'd rather raise chocobos to do specific tasks or cross treacharous terrain instead of copping out and just having a bad full of situational mounts.

Just because there are some taimed versions of something does not diminish the ferocity of a version of the same creature met in the wilds.
As to your belief that, "people who love riding anything everything will instead of forming a logical debate downsize me as a idiot who doesn't want anything added to the game for that's the basis of almost any argument on these forums if you are displeased or don't agree with something being added to the game." I felt that I did quite a good job at demonstrating the logic of including these creatures on the basis of storyline.
Your own words indicate that your rationale is purely one of aesthetics, its ugly to you and it doesn't fit your perfect model of how things ought to be. That doesn't mean that anyone is treating you as a substandard person or creating a minimization your opinion; but realize that it is just that, opinion.
Having said that can you not understand that there will be things in your world (real and game) that you just will not like, and that don't and won't make sense to you? But they fit here, they belong.
At the end of the day it is a tool by developers to toss a bone to players who play through this very unique and difficult time, and that by their own admission this will be a one time opportunity. It is not going to dissolve into some childish slippery slope argument world where everyone will be riding Nymea or Bahamut. Instead they have created purposefully useless (non game changing) but believable mounts that will as Yoshida said, "Give visual difference to someone who played the game before 2.0."
SE will add whatever mounts they want to.
They had multiple ideas for mounts in one of the live letters from the producer that were shown so I would think they intend on adding more than just the Goobbue.
Does that bother me? Not really....I like my Goobbue mainly because it gives me something different to ride when I get bored of my Chocobo.
I wouldn't be butt hurt if/when they add more...But I wouldn't care if they never added any other type of mounts outside of colored Chocobos....Do what.
Not. :)
I still enjoy my Goobbue and use it for long travel while my Chocobo is for short travels (after all, it is small since I am a Lalafell and I don't want it to tire since it looks like it is running at full speed -- while the Goobbue looks like it has a lot more stamina and doesn't look like he is giving its all while running).
So, yes, I support the idea of getting more mounts. Of course, the Magitek mount may end up being my favourite if it looks like the ones in FFVI (FFVI ftw!).
Also, I don't think the Goobbue will feel less special in a year since it will become rarer with 2.0. You have to see the big picture and long term. If the future mounts are much tougher to get than the chocobo, then the Chocobo will remain the primary mount we will see players with (because it will be easier to get and because some people will simply prefer the Chocobo), so no problem here with seeing the Chocobo lose in popularity.
In addition to that, many mounts will be vanity items, while the chocobo will be able to fight and get equipment. That means, the Chocobo will remain to "main" mount. I do hope, however, that some other mounts like the Magitek armor will be able to fight and get equipment too, especially if it is earned from a tough fight.
The future for the Chocobo is promising, no need to worry.

You are crazy... Tame wild animal is still wild animal.
A chimpanzee, a more intelligible animal than the ones you posted, attack owners ALL THE TIME. Now, I can bring up Roy as well... Though I think my point stands.
As Jyxn said, it took a dedicated mage to "tame" it.
To quote you, "instead of forming a logical debate downsize me as a idiot."
And again, of my logical evidententiary rebuttle, you say I promote a, "silly debate."
I've made my points, and made them well. Good luck being dismissive, short and hubristic, instead of rebutting those you disagree with.
I understand where he is coming from, but alot of his points are based on pure speculation much like my own is.
We have 0 facts about how mounts will work out in the future, Yoshida has never told us that they wont keep releasing new types of mounts after 2.0 hell if they could put 2 and 2 together they could make a pretty penny off selling these cosmetic mounts.
I pray the devs don't fall down a slippery slope but I've seen many other developers do it even the most "Integral ones" eventually look at that money well.
Hell I'd be all for that, would be funny to see how quick some people would cry wolf if they charged for something cosmetic like Goobue mounts.
