I feel like there's at least one thread a day that pops up on Reddit complaining about lag issues on the Chaos datacenter. Has been happening for several months now at least, though I can't say I've bothered to read through them to know the cause.

Amusingly, I don't see nearly as many "welp, Primal's dead again" posts these days. No idea what's up with that.

Sounds like routing and disconnection issues, same as NTT. Got redirected to this OF thread as one of the higher topics via Reddit's search.

I never said it was okey. I'm saying from a business side if a small portion of your endusers experience some or slight lag but 2 other regions and a bigger part of NA are fine it don't justify to move a datacentre again. I also want to urge anyone check their ping with Pingplotter like someone else mentioned before as the issue might lie in the datancentre ISP (aka out of SE control). The affected americans that say ping gotten higher is a minority on the bigger scale, a loud minority. It's really unfortunate and I understand it's frustrating.

Depends on your location. I live in Sweden and datacentre is in Germany (i think) so my ping is decent enough to play without much lag. Problems for me and many many other europeans comes to instanced content (raids, dungeons, palace, hoh etc) where we had issues since 4.1 with 90k disconnects and heavy lagspikes.

So don't think we assume some of NA is only having issues, we're having our share too.

I'm in canada and sadly I suffer. my ping is always 200ms to the servers. :/

For those interested in the tech behind this issue, here's NTT's network map. Take note of the lack of things on it. Of these, they only have datacenters in Northern California and Virginia, with colocation here and there. Your ISP will basically route you to the nearest NTT node.

Basicly, issues is at NTT. Of course SE should and probably are making demands on NTT but much is also out of their control.

Well Internet speed arent nearly as high as some of the numbers i hear quoted on this forum. Mine is at 80mbs download 10mbs up, my father has 30 down and 6 up (i think may be a bit lower) and i can play perfectly fine at both locations. Even when downloading and having 2 game clients open. I do get the occasional dc but not often enough to be able to put a time to it.
Stability hasnt changed with server move from montreal to germany but the ping most certainly has gone down.

I know cost is involved but they should leave (and they will) the newly relocated location but also have a more central location.
The connection was far better before for me as well. @ Pixelburst, same for me i am in Central Canada.

The moderator says it’s not their issue. But it is. We pay to play this game and my connection has been horrible since the relocation. It was fine before. So the problem is the location.

Grant there is “nothing they can do” with the servers in their current location. But they can move them to an actually good location!

Wish people would understand business 101. It don't affect everyone but a vocal minority (again I'm not saying its okey but this isnt helping) and if the issue is routing from NTT to you it is at NTT and not SE where the problem lies.

Of course it would remedy to change to a new data center and ISP but we don't know that. You have to remember SE felt the move was a needed change for futureproof their game since they were bottlenecked at the old centre in Canada.
