I can't believe people still want egi glamours. I'd rather have some new summons like bahamut, fighting alongside you for few seconds. They can work much better with this kind of concept than the one we currently have. Carbuncles are cute and stuff but still having to rely und such a clunky non-responding pet is not the summoner I want to have.

So the incoming changes to Ruin III

"Potency reduced from 150 to 130. MP cost reduced. The additional effect "No cast time while in Dreadwyrm Trance" has been added."

Ok it's great that the MP cost is reduced and now gets instant cast in DWT. But why nerf the damage? I know that during DWT you get a damage boost, but this is a little disappointing considering literally every caster can use a single target spell for nearly twice that amount of potency (when it goes live).

Surely it could of just stayed at 150 potency?

I hope they ditch Egis altogether soon in exchange for that. Even though Demi-Bahamut has problems currently, it has the potential to be a lot better than Egis and I think it's the concept of summoning the job should've had from the beginning.

Oh, well. Maybe in the next expansion I hope.

Ikr.. you wont use anything else than tri bind anyway. I didn't calculate it for now but I suppose thats a loss on single target or?

YES pls. I was never a super fan of pet classes, but I liked the kit of Summoner. Still was kinda dissappointed when SB launched (loved it in HW still). get rid of those things and give us awesome new summons

The MP reduction and being instant cast during Dreadwyrm Trance in exchange for a 20 potency reduction seems like a good tradeoff if you ask me.
The MP reduction means you'll be using Ruin III more often (no more using Ruin just to keep your MP at 30%), the instant cast change means more mobility during Dreadwyrm Trance and less potential in wasting a gcd.

But I have to admit, I was a bit upset at first because it's been buffed previously just to end up being nerfed so much.

It took almost 2 years before they let us swap Egis back to Carbuncles, so I really don't expect much on that front.

Why the bunny suit for men is taking nearly 4 is baffling to me. They gave us a full on pig suit, but we can't put rabbit ears on a male avatar, what?

If they cut Egis altogether, where would that put Arcanist and Scholar? I enjoy the DWT build too, but if it means putting my fairy on that same build system as used in PVP, I'd be extra salty.

Well you had to mix ruin and ruin 3 before beacause of mana burn, so...
However on a dummy with lucid you could ruin 3 most, so we'll be a bit nerfed on dummies.
In fights with an alternance between Lucid and shooters' regen, + downtime, it's really arguable and I think the ruin 3 outnumbered the ruin so yes again...

Actually, that's a good question : let's take an exemple of an O1S fight.

In the case it's a good damn summoner and the fight is short : https://fr.fflogs.com/reports/JR7cpH...-done&source=4
6 RIIs in DWT because weave and stuff, then it's 37 Ruin 3 (19 of which are under dreadwyrm) and 5 Ruins for a total potency of 6*110+18*150+19*165+5*100 = 6995.
With the change, the 6 ruins 2 would have been ruin 3s so 6*143+23*130+19*143 = 6565
So 430 less which is around 13000 damage for him so around 40 DPS less on this very fight

Let's take an average result (as in "in the average", don't feel insulted) : https://fr.fflogs.com/reports/CXbhq1...-done&source=5
8 Ruin IIs in DWT, 37 ruin 3s with 26 in DWT, 20 ruins => 8*110+11*150+26*165+20*100 = 8820
With change : 8*143+11*130+26*143+20*130 = 8892
So a 72 potency gain, around 2000 damage, on a 456 sec long fight which is a 4 DPS gain.

So the nerf if there is, is very small, and it's more of a skill gap closing of around 50 DPS points over a 1500 difference : negligeable

I like the changes. I think I'll have to go ahead and get that lost Allagan grimoire I had skipped over.

Spells like Tri-Bind and Tether were mostly useful for running away, so the "high" MP cost wasn't an issue because you weren't in combat a few seconds after casting the spell and non-combat MP regeneration is awesome.

I wouldn't mind more egi glamours. It would be cool having Shiva-Egi replace Garuda-Egi, Bismarck-Egi replace Titan-Egi and Ravana-Egi replace Ifrit-Egi. What I don't think is fair is Alphinaud getting two Carbuncles that we don't have access to.

I wish they'd look as good as Carbuncle or the minions. The original 3 egis are atrocious. I almost don't even see the point if they're going to be an abstract artist's interpretation of primals.
