Final Predictions: Who shall die in 4.0

Thancred: A single repeated moment in both trailers after not being in the last patch. Last time he was absent for so long without explanation he got himself a nice new necklace.

Urianger: Also not showing up much. And since his job now is: play the Ascians for chumps, he needs a pretty good life insurance.

Gosetsu: Doesn't do much in the trailer beside having the secondary antagonist stomp on his head and sitting down in a way that looks a lot like prepairing to do harakiri.

Yugiri: Has a 1 on 1 duel with Zenos. That's bad for your health. Also her lord might cut her down if she fails her job.

Alphinaud: Suspiciously absent for most of the time. Alisaie starts being more active, which he tried very hard to avoid so far. Could he have died when he piushed Alisaie away from that attack?

Alisaie: Did you see all that blood?

Aymeric: He reeeeealy wants to make up for Ishgard not helping the Eorzean Alliance. Might do something stupid.

Raubahn: He is fighting to liberate his homeland. The perfect cause to give your life to. Ilberd also did it. He is great warrior but he only has one arm.

Tataru: Basically the only one without any particular reason to die. So the least expected.

Y'shtola: Poster waifu and Disiddia representative. Also it looks like an echo filter over the scene. Her days are numbered hard but I expect a full fake out the same way we got Nanamo. Can't kill cuties. Moenbryda was a Roe so there was no hope.

Krile: Likely wont die but will get the eternal sleep treatment the same as the guy from Crystal Tower. I'm hoping for sealed but can still communicate with Garlean technology thanks to Nero.

Thancred: Lost his pretty boy flirt status. He's been ready to go out while stabbing at least half an army since 2.0.

Urianger: I think he'll either be crippled because of the Ascians or his last moments will be getting a last important message out and you have to decipher it.

Gosetsu: Not cute, destined to die. But will go out a bro.

Yugiri: I think that would be great, for lore reasons. Will make "the good guys" questionable and would make excellent salty flavor for conflict.

Alphinaud: I doubt this. He still hasn't made up for Crystal Braves.

Alisae: Since when has blood been a problem in a Japanese work?

Raubaun: All too fitting and I'm going to be sad. That poor lala eternally having fantasies at Camp Drybone

Tataru: Would be the shocker of the year.

Fordola will die.
Ala Mhigan raised to serve Garlemald. We just need the uber plot twist that she was the young girl saved when Yda died, and she'll have a redemption arc where she dies saving Lyse.
That would make for some good story I think.

That depends wether she needs redemption or not. She is supporting the country she was born into. But it IS likely that she is the young girl Yda saved, so it would be fitting for her to save Lyse with something along the line of: "now we are even" being her last words.

I would be surprised if Y'shtola died. Yes, they make it appear that way in the trailer, but that's what trailers are for.

I doubt they will kill off any of the main city NPCs: Y'shtola, Thancred, Lyse (for Gridania, they had two so that could afford to kill one off). But it's always possible.

They will probably do like they did with HW and kill off prominent but ultimately not super important NPCs.

I still don't buy Yda's death. You're gonna tell me the woman I saw back in 1.0...is not the same up to now? Gtfo.

its pretty obvious the main villians will definitely die Yosuyu most likely being the 1st to die either by hien, yugiri, or xenos. Xenos will definitely be killed or mortally wounded to the point he dies from said wound which will probably be a very impactful moment moving forward and be a leading cause to go to war on Garlemald soil. i think at somepoint Gossetsu will sacrifice himself for Doma. i don't think any of the scions will die in this expansion but it possible they get held captive and in fact i believe that's why we see Krile being locked up she may have been caught in an effort for Xenos to study the nature of the echo, and we have to free her. it appears that we may be seeing estinien return to the mainstory and his return could signify a sacrifice it may be that he sacrifices himself as a shield for us similar to haurchefant.

Tataru, Alphinaud, and Urianger would be my predictions.
