Yoshi says that to make v2 happen they need to start chargin, that translates to about everyone that they need.....us to pay... to have v2... happen..

You are wrong. The fact that SE hasn't charged for the game up until now makes it as if it weren't released; aka extended BETA. So if you count the release date as the date monthly billing starts, then FFXIV is starting with everything you just mentioned minus PvP. Dont complain because you had to shell out 10 bucks on a store bought copy.

You can go play WoW til the game meets your standards.

Not only is dreadnought wrong for the reasons you mentioned, but he is wrong because what he posted was false and unfactual. Not only does he display that he does not have experience in most or even many MMOs for that matter, he displays a general lack of knowledge about them and there releases.

no thats the most logical thinking. We really are paying now for a better game next year. When we are stuck in the copy paste world, with missing features that we CAN NOT have until 2.0 happens, then its just a beta for 2.0

If this was a normal stable MMO, every patch would be a large content patch, with fixes and bug squashing being a side note. This game its the opposite, most of the patch is adding in basic missing features or fixing broken systems, or changing major parts of the game, with content being in the back seat.

so saying "pay now for a better game in the future" is excatly whats going on, we are pretty much investing into their failed version of the game, so they can in a year from now give us the better one.

Your paying for Pre 2.0 related stuff.. 2.0 is coming regardless if we pay or not..

If every person on FFXIV stopped playing.. Would that stop SE from putting out FFXIV Version 2.0? Sorry but they have a goal.. and they are going to reach there weather we pay for the game or not.

Were paying for whats coming BEFORE 2.0 not this.. oh okay were paying for a better future for this game. The stupidest thing I have ever heard >.>.

no hes right. No PVP, only 2 dungeons (only one at endgame) a few storylines, but they are quite short, and only made to seem longer because you have to get to a certain level to see one of them. We have only a handful of zones....that are so copy paste and garbage that they are completely re-doing them all at MASSIVE player request. Quest chains are pretty much non-existant.

...seem like hes pretty much right to me.

Zanfire...you might want to take another look at his post. You said it yourself: There are Several (more than 1) dungeons; a few storylines (depending on your city/grand company); a handful of zones to explore (it is intended to be non-zoning btw); many quests if you consider all of the class quests and what is involved in getting them ALL (including DoH) to lvl 50- not at all "non existant". And in a couple of days there will be a nice Achievement system with rewards so that people will actually explore these so called copy pasted zones that you call "Garbage."

those are all things that dreadnought says are NOT in the game as of release. I am interpreting "release" to be official monthly billing. By my deffinition you are both wrong and completely ignorant.

By the way Zany, if the Zones are copy pasted garbage, why don't you make a better one? Oh wait... You don' know the first thing about creating an MMO do you?

if your like me and want nothing more than to obsess over epic battles and epenis gear then id say you might as well log in once in a blue moon out of boredom while waiting for other games to come out. it really is your best bet.

First things first, none of these other games are going through a fundemental change like XIV is.

None of the other games that are "great" were released with the craptastic game we've been through.

And they are also creating some content that will eventually get erased come 2.0. I mean what else do you want? They are creating content for before and after 2.0. Go play one of those games, don't get your panties in a bunch because they aren't satisfying every little thing you want in this game.
