Stupid reason to report someone

Lv50 MSQ from the patches between AAR and Heavensward 2.1 "Seventh Astral Era Main Scenario Quests" you'll see "Hest of the Best" which requires you to do "Hero on the half shell".

This is a requirement to get to ishgard, and a requirement to unlock DRK.
Ive seen my share of groups have just 1 person keep fighting the turtle, and its extremely easy for the to solo it till its dead, before it's put to sleep.
(Usually the person is undergeared)

The Guildhest quests were removed from the game sometime, probably during Heavensward. Now the main story asks you to kill some monsters in Mor Dhona instead.

Edit: This page says it was 3.1 I've been through the Astral Era stuff recently on an alt so I can confirm you get the Malboro quest instead.

Interesting, as my journal still has the Hero in a halfshell requirement listed.
Last time I did it was on my alt, though idk if I did it in 3.0 or 3.1.
EDIT: the very next MSQ required me to do "More than a Feeler", so it wouldnt have been replaced, so much as straight up removed if this is true.
(Though it would require having done Hero in a halfshell to unlock it at least at SOME point before unlocking DRK)
EDIT of an edit: I mistook the marbol quest being more than feeler, so the edit is incorrect.

Yup, Eva here still has the old Guildhest quests in her Journal.
"Hest of the Best"" (Turtle Guildhest) and Pass the Smell Hest" (More than a Feeler) were replaced with "Welcome to Morbol Country" (kill malboros in Mor Dhona) and "Answering the Call" (kill hapalits in Mor Dhona) which is what I got on my alts.

New Characters can ignore Guildhests entirely unless you want to do them for exp or unlocking Mentor Roulette.

If they were reported for harassment that fine, if they were truly reported for not dpsing as a healer then yea that is stupid reason.

Remember, this thread came up over a hest whose main reason for failure is too much DPS. If the healer is asked to DPS the turtle, they're perfectly right for refusing to do so. Even on a DPS job, I'll stop when the turtle is down about a quarter of its health, leaving the rest for the tank in order to ensure he/she can more easily get it to the right damage level without accidentally killing it trying to keep aggro. As a healer, I won't even touch the turtle, and only DPS the adds.

The fact that all content is balanced around DPS from DDs and at most the base DPS from tanks, should tell you that healer DPS is not a factor in content balance. The game developers do not assume that healers are dealing damage in group content, they assume that healers will be healing. Stop this nonsense about healer DPS. Sure, healer DPS is a bonus, it's nice to have and a great healer can do it, but it is not, has not been and will never be mandatory. Nor will it ever be OK to insult healers who don't add much dps, as long as they are keeping everyone from dying, they are fulfilling the role we need from them.

With regard to the original post and topic. Reporting a healer for not doing damage in group content is more or less the same as reporting the Sun for not being the moon.

I mean seriously, your role is a dead give away to what you are supposed to be doing. If you are doing that with decent effect, there are no grounds for a report of any kind.

Lets see.
DDs are meant to deal damage, so their DPS is king.
Tanks are meant to keep aggro, and that is done through a combination of specific hate generating skills and hate multipliers on regular attacks, which naturally deal damage.
Healers are meant to heal, remove status effects and provide some buffing to the party. Can they deal some damage? Sure, but it's not part of the role they fulfill in the party, the skills that they use for healing removing status effects and buffing are targeted at players and naturally they do no damage to the enemy.

One other point. DDs and tanks pay attention to the enemies only, that is their focus. a healer's focus is the rest of the party. Anyone demanding that healers also do damage is in effect saying that the healer has to do two jobs, and pay attention to twice as much as anyone else does. Perhaps those DDs demanding that healers also DPS should take a look at their own damage output before asking healers to compensate for their (or their fellow DDs) lack of skill.

He cant technically report you for not dpsing as a healer just because you weren't dpsing. However he pry can report you based on how abrasive you became in your convo. If just really passive aggressive then no harm to you.

This doesn't gloss over the fact that you were so lazy as a healer in a guildhest that was so easy to beat that you felt you shouldn't dps for what reason? To keep the tank alive from high damage attacks? Yeah, no. Not in that instance you arn't pulling that excuse. The bottom line is you were afking in the guildhest and wanted a free ride and when someone called you out for it you got offended cause he gave you a reality check. You could have shaved off a min if you helped but decided to extend the instance taking that extra min away from the other 3 players.

I've seen many healers like you. The ones who only use a cure 2 every 20s and stand around afk the rest of the time. It sickens me that they think they have to do less work then the tank and dps have to put in because of heals alone.

How do you get through solo content with that mentality? Do you let your chocobo kill everything while you keep it alive the whole time? Do you always have to party up with other players like this is some kind of old school MMO where healers literally couldn't dps?

If you wanna (or others) wanna say healers don't have to dps and "Its fine if they only heal" I say that is a lie and it affects other players times. "Oh im still doing my job if I dont dps".......does the tank stop attacking when he has enough aggro to hold the mob and just sit there? I mean he is technically doing his tank job by holding adds but nothing ever said he was required to continue to dps once his minimum job requirement was fulfilled.
What about the dps who only does the worst possible rotation or spams one attack? I mean he is still technically dpsing so he is doing his job so you cant yell at him to dps more so you can pick up the pace of the dungeon. If the dungeon takes 1 hour do to complete due to the tank and dps meeting the minimum requirements you have no right to say otherwise as they were all doing their "job" to some degree.

Bottom line is healers are ment to dps when not in very dangerous situations. Any excuse you make up will be tossed aside by better players with arguments like mine about the tank/dps still "technically" doing their job.
