I have to ask. People clamoring over lackluster rewards for beating Savage. Have you played previous Final Fantasy games? Super bosses in this series as a whole rarely offer anything worthwhile except the acknowledgement of defeating the game's hardest content. FFVIII literally gives you a plaque essentially read "You are winner!" You can AFK Yiazmat in FFXII. I don't even recall Absolute Virtue dropping anything meaningful, though I'm no FFXI alumni. This isn't to say Savage shouldn't offer something; unique armour and whatnot. I'm just legitimately curious why the challenge isn't enough, at least around here.
Personally, I feel forming statics itself is what has actually hindered raiding far more than rewards. Getting people to not only be able to set ahead a guaranteed time slots in their schedule, but then play in near perfect harmony is a whole tier of difficulty itself. To that end, perhaps Savage just needs to be less forgiving-- where a mistake here or there doesn't wipe the whole group.
