You aren't alone in seeing the similarities in parts. Also the in game music in some places is at least Disney-Adjacent. The first thing out of my brother's mouth when he started playing was "Is this a Disney Studios game?"

I wasn't "futzing" up anything (i learned a new word today) I was simply expressing the simple fact that things similar to the concept of how heartless are created have already happened, also the dive into the heart is pretty much the 2.0 opening of the game (floating in a void you are spoken to by a directing higher power, shown your enemy, given a weapon to fight them and reach your potential as the chosen hero. You are then woken up to find it was all just a dream, "or was it..? I dunno..")

Right? I have said it before but if dive into the heart were playing during the opening we would literally be getting a keyblade a few days later.

I would expect more crossover events in the future, and honestly I don't see the big deal so long as SE can give it some fitting lore, it was clever of them to have this event started by an au ra raen, and regardless of not knowing much about yokai watch beyond the event it's always fun seeing my character react to new experiences.

If Adventuring is built on new experiences then what could be more new than these sorts of events? Our warriors of light can still find wonder and surprise in their lives full of lost friends and constant violence, this is a bad thing?

I don't mind cross over. I do mind the mindless use of fates and the grind that is this event. I get now why it's 2 months long, I tried doing it and I have no motivation... I still have PTSD from Atma. This is the first time I think I probably wont finish an Event. I suppose I have time though to do it over the next 2 months... maybe a little bit at a time..

Back in my day, non-intrusive advertising was fun(ny). Even more if it added side content to take part in. I honestly don't see it as anything but that, even now. Practically all complaints come from bias and a want for "purity".

I think you're looking at this from the wrong angle. Look at Heavensward and the build up to it, note the (alleged) death of Nanamo, the death of Hauchefaunt, the racism, class imbalance and religious zealotry that comes from a theocracy like Ishgard, the potential of treachery within the Scions, and how malicious Nidhogg is. The expansion's story was marketed as being Darker than ARR and because of that (and certain homages) people perceive that to be the case.

With that in mind, a crossover with family-friendly franchises like Pokemon or Yo-kai Watch would feel like a clash with the tone of the expansion. Instead of asking how people would feel if the crossover was with something that was similar to Yo-Kai Watch but more well known, I feel that it would be more productive to the debate to ask how they would feel if the crossover was with something closer to the Tone of Heavensward itself but more well known

This means I have ask, how would you feel if the crossover was with Game of Thrones instead? Imagine if SE manages to get the OK from HBO and George RR Martin to create an event based around the "A Song of Ice And Fire" book series and the hit TV show created from it. How would you feel?

(And yes I know that the onscreen stuff is toned down in comparison to ASOI&F/GoT)

at least we can now glamour the palace of the dead weapons with this anime bs. Just wish they would glow, so I wouldn't have to look at these weapons since some of them look real bad.
