I actually did do some testing on how much overall potency a balance, enhanced, expanded and extended balance will bring a raid overall. The difference is quite significant - but I don't remember the numbers (Expanded was the best, surprise surprise). That said, there is the RNG factor. You could go an entire encounter and never get a balance, or you could get several back to back. So the potential for AST to contribute more raid DPS is there, but it is restricted by RNG.

I feel like you are thinking that I am saying WHM is better then AST hands down. All I am saying is they both bring different and useful things to the party, and whichever your team prefers is up to the team and players. I just don't accept your premise that a Diurnal AST can bring everything that a WHM can - where they bring a lot of the same, but have a few differences.

Yes. The request for a buff to Adlo was silly. If anything it needs major nerfs not buffs, but that would make me quite annoyed so I hope they don't.

Adlo don't need any buff and won't get nerf. It's a super powerful shield that scholars deserve to have.

Personally, from a gameplay perspective, I'd rather have more mitigation / shielding options and less DPS options. I'd rather have the shielding stuff be not as significant as placing an 18k shield on everyone, so it keeps me on my toes and constantly shielding people. Currently, constantly shielding people is a huge MP drain and is balanced out by having incredibly powerful shields and strong co-healers. The current design makes shielding + sch feel more like a DPS and is a tad disappointing.

I actually love the fact to dps. That's why i chosed scholar. I'd even love some more dps power. The fairy and our shield is actually way enough to support the main healer. ( super virus and all the stuff as well)
Tbh, exept Dissipation, sch are perfect, honestly.

Regardless of if Aldo does or doesn't need changes this a bad way to approach the subject. What a class does or doesn't "Deserve" to have is unquantifiable subjective noise. Why exactly does Scholar "Deserve" to have it? Was it a prize in the spelling bee? Does the constitution of FF14 state "Article 6: and the scholar class shall be entitled to a 300 base potency shield"?

Gota agree with you. I think Adlo is pretty powerful, if you look at it as a whole. Sch can easily recover MP, so the slightly higher MP cost is justified IMO. My sch basically never runs out of MP during any fights either, at least I haven't heard him complaining, and he's still pushing 600+ dps in every turn. He got his i245 book this week and crited a 14.500 Adlo on a Mantra Conv Warrior while we were goofing around in Hinterlands, how do you want to compete with that in terms of mitigation (Spreadlo) for e.g. Justice Kick in A8S? If anything, Adlo would need a nerf and not a buff, it's just super broken, which is only really noticeable in A8S if your sch does the spreadlo properly and J-Kick literally hits the whole party for 0.

The issue is that this a moral position and therefore cannot contribute to a productive dialogue. "Deserves" is this really loose and subjective concept. Who or what deserves anything? If it's not written down in some binding set of norms or rules we've agreed to follow nobody can say. Worse it's subjective in a way that's not even strictly tied to real experience such as the statement "I like vanilla ice cream more than chocolate". You can't fault that statement because it's strictly matter of personal taste and experience. Which kind of Ice Cream you enjoy more has no bearing on anyone else and makes no statements about how things should be for others.

When you say Scholars "Deserve" Adlo it's not only entirely subjective and therefore a point that can't be argued, but it also projects values on the way things should be for everyone else
