Umh... You get rid of the oxygen bar during the first few quests... Like the first 3 quests or so out of over 100. And you get a fast underwater mount within an hour in the zone AND you have accelerated speed while running on the sea floor. I leveled there when it first came out and I don't remember anything being difficult or annoying.

I really enjoyed Vashj'ir so it's really about differing opinions. I was playing when it launched and the server I was on at the time a lot of people seemed to like Vashj'ir so unless you have something somewhere that shows a lot of people skipped it I didn't see it on my server and I even leveled multiple alts through it too (there were always a lot of other players around).

Like another poster said after the first 2-3 quests you unlock a passive ability that works within Vashj'ir and you never had an oxygen bar again and you had increased movement (They also very often gave you a free sea horse mount until you finished up to a certain part of the quests and got the mount permanently). So it seems to me since you didn't know that you didn't actually try Vashj'ir long enough to experience it properly.

On the topic of Vashj'ir, it is my go-to zone whenever I'm leveling alts through Cataclysm content, as it's so sparsely populated by other players. The worry for max-level gankers is minimal. It's also a great place to gather obsidian ore as opposed to going to Hyjal.

Aesthetically, Vashj'ir is an interesting zone. Good thing that they fixed the zone-wide Paladin hate on the whales. (That was fun to have happen during beta.) Them funky hitboxes.

And, yes, just a handful of quests in and you get a zone-wide buff that gives you infinite air and pretty decent "ground" movement speed. Damn near right off the bat. And before you go to the next area of Vashj'ir you end up getting the seahorse mount.

i'd like to explore sahagin areas, or other sea stuff...why not? it's not about travel, it's about adventure.
flying is not the same as swimming -.- and one isn't better than the other, in terms of exploration and adventure.
i loved swimming in FFX, it was really nice atmosphere, and music. Although there wasn't much underwater stuff in VII, it was nice to go around with the sub, and look for emerald wep.....oh god pls, add that as HNM!! "JUST DO IT!!"

Why swim?? When players will use The aetherite to teleport around xD

Along with swimming I would also appreciate if they updated ARR areas for flight and swimming as well. Imagine fishing on your own boat mount or taking a few friends on a boat ride or a ride on your new sea serpent mount.
