I must admit that I didn't read what Wada said, but this general feeling about Casual Gamers I think that shouldn't be applied to a MMORPG. Casual Gamers will play at WII, PSP ( maybe in the bathroom :D ), NDS, ecc. Square-Enix made a game, Final Fantasy XIV, that needs a High End PC Hardware and a big amount of time to be played, and these are not the main features of a Casual Gamers. When they say now there are more Casual Gamers in the past, they are forgetting that now a lot of people play videogames, more than in the past, and who did is still playing. So what SE is trying to do, in my opinion, is to not care about the old MMORPG players but focus their strenght on catch a lot of these new kind of players, who probably will never play an MMORPG...
P.S.
I hope it's all understandble. :p
