Specialist tier confirmed for crafting

Lol at people and profits.
What do you people even do with your millions of gils?
Try and meld this or that, because otherwise there's nothing else
in this game worth dumping money into.

Give us Slot Machines for people sitting with 500 billion gil can get addicted
and lose they money they had sitting in Lala retainer for ages.

All along, from way back in 2010, we've been told that you can do everything on a single character. I REALLY hope that someone's earlier comment that Specialist may be the next step up from Artisan is correct and that it isn't a firm lock out system.

Even if it takes us ages and a day to get every class up as high as they can go, that's better than choosing 1 or 3 to get up high and everything else sits at a lower cap. I'm not against gated progression. Maybe it's good that not everyone will make everything. I do however believe that anyone who puts in the time and the effort to earn the highest ability on every class should at least eventually be able to get there. They've earned it (assuming they weren't botting) and I don't see anything wrong with that.

Desynth bugs me but at least they've lowered the restrictions on that slightly. At first, you could only have 2.95 classes at desynth cap, with random delvls across the board unless you did the dance to protect them. Now you can have the full 3, with 20 levels to spare, and no delevelling unless you hit the cap.

There are entirely too many people suffering from a case of sudden onset butt-hurt here.

Seriously, SE can do nothing.. absolutely nothing.. without a whole onslaught of people whining and complaining about how they are "ruining everything". Get over it. You don't even know what the hell the changes are going to be, or how they are going to effect anything else. All anyone knows is that some form of specialization system is going to be implemented. That's it. There's not enough information therein to justify this level of dramatic bravado.

Do you have a large personal house? A fully optimal relic? Every crafting and gathering class with max stats?

There's stuff for you to buy. Just nothing you want to buy. Which is fine, but don't make it out to be something it isn't. If nothing else, you can save gil for the new goodies coming in heavensward. Is what I'm doing.

This is what annoys me about the Servers with such high prices (Artifical inflation??) getting very low housing prices.
Not you personally... just the system as a whole.

Burns me up that on servers like mine where the materia etc is 1/3rd the price we had to pay 5-6 times the price for the same bloody content.

Course now its the same but I am afraid it will happen again at some point -_-

As long as I can still level all of them to 60 so I can repair all my gear, no matter what combat job I am, I'm fine with this.

I buy houses.. I have 3 so far, thinking of a 4th.. Also, when I'm bored I hoard items on MB and play the market.
I wish gold saucer allowed gil to be used as main currency, although I fully understand why they couldn't do that, I also want something NPC sold that I can spend my money on, like mounts or glamour gear. Crafted items have little to no value to me off the MB.

But I still want to be self sufficient, having nothing to use your money on because you can make everything yourself doesn't necessarily mean it should be a reason to restrict each person's crafting selections, the game simply lacks a good, effective gil sink.

One way SE could combat the problem of people hoarding gil and RMT is to introduce an item to extend your game time like GW2 or Wildstar had.. I wouldn't mind buying a month or two of game time with some gil and other players can legitimately get their hands on some quick gil instead of resorting to RMT.

Yes, a lot of these complaints are under the assumption that the crafting system is going to have an addition that will prevent us from crafting everything in the classes that we don't specialize.

That's why many people are beginning their complaint with IF. You will always get some people that dislike certain changes, but the player-base is filled with people that like and dislike different things. It's not like the people who dislike a change are the same people every single time.

The ability to do everything with one character was one of FFXIV's most marketed aspect and considered one of the game's strongest point. It's completely reasonable that any change that might undermine that worries people.
