It really comes down to you and what you think best portrays you and/or the character you want to play. Pretend you're auditioning actors to play you in your own show. If those two turned up, how do you think they would act and how do you think they would portray you? Which would you identify with the most? All other things being equal, there's more to looks than just looks. Appearance says a lot about one's own personal character and how we choose to represent ourselves. We also feel differently about playing through different characters (I have alts of different races and genders and they're all unique experiences to play, not because the NPC's react differently to you, just something more subtle than that which is hard to explain...).
In a game like this, where physical changes are limited after the fact, you also have to be confident that this is a character that you'll be comfortable with after an hour, a day, a week, a month, a year, however long you plan to keep him around (hopefully many years, you'd be missed otherwise). It's not a light decision to make and not really a decision others can make for you...
