That is very true. But they are entitled to roll on their class specific items, just as I am mine.

Anyone else feel bad if you get a lucky streak on rolls? I never roll need unless I truly need the item. If I just want it for seals, I will greed. Last night I won several drops I can't use (outleveled the usefulness) using greed only, and I was feeling kinda bad, but I reasoned that other people were probably passing on them. My rolls were not that high.

My opinion is if you want to need, play as the job. Or, speak up and hope your party will be kind enough to let you win.

this game's loot system is all kinds of terrible.

XI's system worked a lot better

Need/Greed has no place in a game with multiple class options on a single character. Its just another instance of yoshi copy pasting WoW

With a personal loot system, you select the role (here it would be job) you want your automatic roll to have a CHANCE (emphasis on chance, the rolls are actually pretty low there to get a good piece of equipment) to get, and the system decides. No one else sees your roll, what role you selected said roll for, and you get to bring who you want to the event\dungeon\whatever instead of who has the specific job the need button is open for.

It's solved a lot of loot issues over there.

I've played WoW for a day and didn't liked it. That system is dupe! very nice indeed! give loot once outside the instance. I would vouch for that. Now SE needs to create a poll for us to vote. (not Votekick ;) )

this kind of narrow-mindedness screws the entire party, especially on harder content.

what i always see in Party Finder:
Need > Greed parties missing OT PLD for Leviathan, tanks for Garuda EX and Turn 4, missing healers for Ifrit EX and Turn 2, missing BRDs for Turn 1 and 2 (though you don't really need BRDs for either anymore).

all the high demand / higher stress jobs takes longest to fill because the people that are capable of doing those jobs already got their items.

people would rather not play the game and wait then let people Greed on other jobs.

Everyone else in the group with the option to Greed deserves the same chance to get the item as all the other people with the option to Greed if they helped kill the boss the rewarded the chest. Plain and simple, you don't have a leg to stand on with your argument.

We really NEED to stop complaining about this topic and move on with our lives. It's not going to change any time soon, if ever.

I know what you're thinking: "if you want something, then go as the job to NEED", and I understand that this is not a critical problem, only for alts. But in this game, where one chest drops loot for every classes, and everyone can level up all classes, i think it's something that's been overlook.

Now, a couple of MMOs already do this by disabling the GREED button if you cannot equip it, which seems like a reasonable idea. Another option would be to have a second GREED. This would also prevent fresh lvl50 players to immediatly equip end-game gear before they actually have any experience on it.

But FFXIV allows you to switch to any job/class at anytime on the same character. So the way its implemented makes perfect sense. Sorry I'm not 'hardcore' enough to level all my jobs to 50 immediately. But I'll get there eventually!

The system works perfectly fine, everybody deserves to roll on the loot because everybody contributed. What they want to do with it is nobody's business. If you ask nicely for what you need, chances are many people will pass unless they need it as much as you.
