I think they're fine. Most of them retain some plausibility. Some are super huge, some aren't.
The Bravura is a perfect size IMO.

in real life 2-hand battle axes are actually smaller than the small axes in game xD these super big axes are just for show, for an public execution perfect
This thread is funny. My Dread Axe looks just fine.
Well, the game kind of already betrays this notion by making a WAR a tanking job. More than ANY DPS job in the game, the flavor text behind WAR talks about blood 'n guts 'n rending your enemies and whatever, but in practice, WAR's job is to hold enemies in place and keep them from beating on your buddies. A ridiculously oversized axe just compounds the silliness.
LUDICROUSLY HUGE AXE ATTACK!!!
Itty bitty damage numbers...
WAR should've been a DPS job from the start, given the lore of them being bloodthirsty combatants thirsting for blood, but since they're not, huge weapons just make them ridiculous. A NIN poking an enemy with his cute li'l pigstickers should not be doing twice the damage a great axe swing does...
Though what you say does make a lot a sense... It will never work that only one job is a tank job, in a game where a Duty Finder/cross server method is predominate way of getting content done.
I support bigger axes. I support emperor fist weapons for monk. I support non baby sized shields for pld. I support less robe armor. (Seriously my war robe is longer than my sch lol what?) but mainly just make sure drk weapons are not realistic at all.
Realism in a fantasy game. That's the best joke I've heard today.
