Arrogant WHMS

Personally, I prefer WHM over SCH in a 4-man DF/PUG group; DF'ed with too many bad SCH leveling LNC, so I'm a bit biased :( It also seems that WHM is a little more forgiving on bad players than SCH is, kinda like how PAL is over WAR from my time leveling WHM.

In an 8-man DF/PUG group, I like one of each. The synchronization between two is great. Titan especially is nice to have both (or, in 3-heal setups, 2 WHM, 1 SCH thanks to the SCH buff not stacking...that really needs to be changed IMO. Haven't done any Coil yet; no groups so far).

Now, that's not to say I will not group with SCH, or think all SCH are bad solo. I know some SCH who are just amazing at their job, and love to run dungeons with them. But that's not DF/PUG...which is the main problem I see. An unknown SCH, from my experience, is more likely to be a sub-par healer than an unknown WHM.

I leveled WHM first then SCH. SCH has been more fun to play, imo. There are still some QoL issues for scholars.. but I am pretty confident that as the classes scale upwards, SCH is going to become a beast.

I love my SCH brethren. Honestly you make my life easy in certain runs, well all runs. I get to focus my big heals on one or two players and the fairy heals the party/raid. I love your bubble, its amazing. Yes maybe you cant pop a huge heal onto that dying tank, but who cares? You are the Yin to my Yang, the black to my white. I love scholars! Haters are gonna hate no matter what. Screw em.

I love my scholar...I wouldn't hurt my fairy friend by saying such mean things..after all..she knows where I live...

What? Last I checked, WHM destroys SCH at AoE healing. Nothing compares to Medica II.

I only have a gripe with people who think SCH is hard to play, or harder to play then WHM. My friend let me try his SCH a few times. It's idiot proof, and most shortfalls that a normal healing roll would need to endure are thrown out the window. It's a far easier healing class to play. The class does have it's difficulties, but they aren't anywhere near watching hate or MP (or choosing between the two) on a WHM in a hectic situation in my opinion. I won't play a SCH for that reason though, it's just way too easy.

Honestly I have not heard much complaining about SCH, and heck, on Gilgamesh they seem to outnumber white mages now. Go into any town and you'll just be swarmed by fairies and the sound of books being opened and closed.

My boyfriend currently plays a SCH and it's quite useful in dungeons, he can DPS while healing a million times better than me while I can maybe throw Aero on something before having to go back to healing the tank. Then again, I haven't reached end-game content yet because I'm pacing myself. (I don't want to burn out a subscription-based MMO in the first month or two and then end up not playing it after.)

Whenever he's healing me when I'm leveling my DPS so I can get swiftcast I just silently curse while looking at his screen, watching him browse the 'net because his summon does all the work. >:T Lucky.

I really like having a SCH with me. WHM+SCH is a scary combo and bosses should fear for their well being when both healers are working well together. WHM+WHM has cool utilities like double Regen, double Medica 2 and double Benediction, but a SCH's Adloquium + Medica 2 is an insane AoE combo heal.

If you play a SCH like WHM, you'll think the class suck, but in fact you are bad and at fault.
Same thing apply for playing a WHM like a SCH.

WHM = reactive healer
SCH = preventive healer

If you remember the 2 lines above, you'll have no problem healing.

Personally love landing in groups with a SCH at my side when I'm on main heals on WHM. I think a lot of the frustration I've seen in PuGs is due to the large influx of new level 50 WHM/SCH that have literally only used Fate Grinding techniques to level the class. That's not to say that you can't be a great WHM/SCH if you have used Fate Grinding as your sole means to 50, its just that lower level PuGs and consistent dungeon runs really teach you how to play your class. Regen and Medica are not replacements for skill swapping and learning to effectively use Shroud, Presence, Benediction etc.

TBH I've seen a lot more complaints from nub tanks (who also largely used Fate Grind to 50) who claim that healers don't know what they are doing. I'm happy to spend any amount of time (and party wipes) working with new 50's so that they can learn the dungeon, over the arrogant 50's that think they know your class better than you do.

It's all about the skill of the player :)

This basically. Doing lower level dungeon while leveling is the way best way to learn the class because the skills/spells used are added gradually as you level. You can't expect to be using all your spells properly at level 50 if you haven't practice a bit before. That point is valid for any class/job. I started to level Marauder to be able to tank and I finished Sastasha yesterday. It was a good experience even though I'm a veteran tank from WoW (tanking was my life in WoW), but a different game means different mechanics or at least subtle differences. I can't play as if I was in WoW since this isn't WoW, but not everyone understand that.
