WHM's blow. They are just a bad class. They cant mitigate damage, they cant increase their healing potential on the fly and when things get mobile they have a hard time healing. In almost every situation a SCH is better. Most whms dont know how to use their skills.

Now how did you feel reading that? Pretty angry? Thats what sch's feel like every time a whm or any other player makes offhand comments about how inferior they think scholars are. Learn to appreciate what the other class can do that you cant. Does that scholar really suck? Well its not the job its the player. /rant

On SCH my Fairy alone is a better healer then most WHM I find in the DF. I can stay in Cleric Stance almost full time with no consequences (Since Lustrate is a straight 20% health increase it won't be detered by CS) =] I also play WHM, I can see how different both classes are entirely. But what it all boils down to is if people die or not.

As a WHM, I get a bit tired of hearing sentiments like "my fairy can heal better than a WHM and then I can DPS, so what good is a WHM?" Whatever. Each class has their own skills and work best together. They are better/worse. Just different.

Don't blame the class, look at the player. ^^

Just to avoid any confusion now or in the future I didn't say my Fairy is better then WHMs, I just said it's better then most inexperienced and/or unskilled ones you'd find in the DF =p

I don't think I've ever come across such sentiments. I've been a SCH all the way from 30-50, but I was kinda early in the reaching max level, I guess. Maybe it was before the SCH stigma? Is there such a thing?

I'm always happy having a WHM in my party when I'm SCH and vice versa and the parties seem to agree. Sorry if you came across such a person but I'd like to think such things are rare.../naive?

I maintain that White Mages and Scholars are both useful in their own ways. They're a different play style, even if they are both healers. I personally prefer the WHM style of play (I have used both), but I love having a good Scholar in my party. I believe that a White Mage and a Scholar can be a great combination and this is constantly proved by the more progressive Free Companies. The first Twintania kills included one of each type of healer, for example.

Using two White Mages or two Scholars is also passable... except in certain situations. The one disadvantage that 2x Scholars have over 2x White Mage is that White Mage Medica Regen and normal Regen will stack with each other (both White Mages can have it up at the same time). Scholar shields do not. That's not to say the class is bad -- but it is currently limited in a way that White Mages are not.

Keep in mind that people saying you NEED to have two White Mages have either...

A) Not played with a Scholar who knows how to play...

OR

B) Requires a healer with a lot of 'clutch heals' for a certain fight because DPS are taking damage they shouldn't be. (Titan Hard is a good example -- lots of people get hit by unnecessary stuff, putting more pressure on the healers than needed. Scholars can still handle this, but ideally you'll want ONE clutch healer and ONE preventative healer... WHM+SCH combo.)

I get tired of dps getting angry with healers.
I have a really hard time during titan, out of all the fights in the game, titan gives me intense lag after the heart is down.. which also doesn't help because that is when the fight gets seriously crazy. I don't experience this with any other fight..
But of course, not everyone is a big sack of NOPE.
I get a lot of problems with aussies trying to guilt trip me. Like, I know aussies are far away from the NA servers, but that still doesn't mean my internet isn't bad.. come on now. :P
but outside of that, SCH's are awesome.. I honestly get a little scared if I don't have a SCH in my group of 8. I love sch, such handy people! Plus, if a boss goes down, and it's a whm item, I dont have to do a voodoo dance in hopes I roll higher than the other whm, it is instantly mine lol.

It IS rare but i ran a lot of titan today doing /shouts instead of queuing into the duty finder. while forming parties some of the comments i got were just ignorant. going through the forums today just reignited the fury reading some of the things ppl say. even among some of my friends, i heard this one over voip when we were doing a low level instance, "ill go as heal since whm heals more than sch, just go as smn"

and i know not all whms are like this, you guys are great and it really chills me out to see i got a whm by my side in an 8 man.

But anyway, just ignore those fools. They have no idea what they're talking about.
I'm a WHM main, and so far a WHM+SCH combo > WHM+WHM.

Yes I did find quite a lot of bad SCH in my server, but same applies to WHMs.

From the view of a person that has no clue about WHM and SCH, you see 1 thing: WHM heals more in 1shot.
And that's pretty much the people who complain about SCH.
