It goes both ways those. My fun comes from large pulls and seeing just how much damage I can do during them. Comparatively, I'm bored out of my mind if a tank just one pack. If enough people feel the way I do in that particular party, why should we do one only one other person wants?

Its not an issue when the other people want to do it as well. The problems arise when the rest of the party does not want to. The general disposition I get from people on here is, play my way or get lost.

Elitism grows everywhere, for whatever reason. Its just human nature. You cant stop it.
However you CAN counter it, as history has already shown you CAN fight fire with fire. Don't like a movement? Make one of your own.
Seriously... if people kicked other people for using parsers what do you think the reaction would be? Stop giving people power over you.

Personally i don't give a crud. If a DPS wants to kick me for tanking, then they can sit and wait 30 more minutes to an hour for a PUG to pop, I really could care less, its their loss in the end.
I wont even raise my hand to tank (after they have forgotten me,) and sit in DPS role when these same jerks start complaining there are no tanks around.
I honestly don't believe the majority of people care about the "meta" or play this way. Only people who think they are more special than they actually are. Don't feed their egos.
I have only encountered this ONCE in a year of gameplay. I just think someone has bad luck, or needs better situational awareness.

Why are you carrying them in the first place? That's what I find condescending. When our FC has had people who are new to raiding and / or inexperienced with the game, we put them in a party together and they play and learn and progress at their own pace, of course sometimes with people who have done the content before if there are extra slots - but with people challenging the content together, not with 6 people challenging the content for 2... Of course you and your FC are free to play the game in any way you enjoy, I just wouldn't find your arrangement enjoyable myself. :)

I just don't see any benefit in your suggestion for anyone - even for the purpose you're claiming you're suggesting it for. Mean people will be mean, logs available or not. It's better we use our energy to battle the mean people instead of battling the service that in itself is not mean but very useful.

That's not the way people are advocating at all people want E F F O R T it's not my way or the high way I want people to actually try instead of being AFK and pulling one pack of mobs, especially with all the gear you can get easily each week from the 24 man raid and capping tomes as well as Delta normal. If I see a healer being AFK or spamming heals then i'm pulling everything that way they won't be sitting at 95% MP while spamming 2 buttons, you may see it as selfish but if they wanna heal i'll let em heal there's nothing you can't not heal in a simple 4 man 70 dungeon.

It pains me to see DPS single target in giant pulls while me and the healer are doing more damage than them, tanks not DPSing and spamming 1-2-3 in tank stance with 0 CDs, and healers barely having a heartbeat, it's an MMO, it's a team effort in a dungeon and we all want it to be over so we can move onto more things we wanna do in game. This isn't lvl 15 gameplay this extends past that.

I think going AFK is a completely separate topic, which most everyone would agree to kicking a party member over. The reality is, all tiers of dungeon roulettes are mind numbingly easy/boring. Trying to enforce personal expectations on others to clear the content outside of its imposed design is a problem.

I wish people would just focus thier "effort" expectations toward content which actually warrants it. Many different types of people play this game, and they are not all going to meet speed run expectations, which doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to enjoy the game, and content which is designed specifically to cater to them.

I race just to have fun losing. It doesn't even matter, if I come in last, I still finish the race!!!!1111one"

I suppose at this point its about how much all you can take from the tank. If you're all synchronized on wanting that mass pull, then you'll kick and hope the next one that arrives does. On the other hand, two of you may want to take it to the point of kicking but the third may not want to go that far at all. Your votes will still go through but now you have to deal with the 3rd person who was fine with a slow pulling tank.

At the end of the day, the only thing the majority can decide is how bad do you all want a new tank in the party. I can tell you right now most groups will just swallow it if the tank is not a bad player.

Unfortunately, it comes from how oversensitive a lot of people have become lately. They don't want to be told what they're doing isn't anything less than perfect. What generally irks me is it's often these same people who are the first to pitch a fit if you don't play how they want. Case in point, friend and I were running Rabanastre last night and despite having a SCH, the AST refused to switch to Diurnal and got into a tangent about it all because she "likes shield healing". Ironically, when LB3 didn't go off immediately, guess who was the first to not stop whining about it?

80% of my dungeon tanking is sword oath / dps stance i stay in the tank one only when dmg reduction is necessary or when i need to build enmity rest is dps stance that how tank are supposed to be played.
