I don't know, well no one knows 100% obviously. But to me that sounds like overcomplicating it.
Set a simple straight forward line with presets, add RNG and they're done.

Then again, I am no programmer whatsoever. So that's why I hope my spreadsheet can help someone to actually figure it out.

I'd agree with you if there wasn't so much evidence to back the mathematical theory. There's a separate thread going on with a few hundred pages backing the math theory. It took me about 30 minutes to make the spreadsheet that estimates the dye color based on fruits fed on a math basis. To me, that is the definition of KISS. That linear theory, to me, is super complicated!

I'll be doing more testing both ways to back up one of the two theories.

Please also revised the info of my spreadsheet, ver 2 is now refined to increment of 8s, not 16, to eliminate duplicate values.

There is only ONE theory, SE's programming logic. :p

All the attempts here is just trying to figure out SE's programming logic, once we decode that, we have a clear path to how the colors are chosen.

So, I finally got a stable for my FC and my fruits are in so dyeing time for my chocobo Frobisher! I will update as I go along.

I am working off of this diagram since the calculator that's going around is REALLY confusing to me.

I decided to use a pineapple, just to see what colour it would result in...

Tried to make a bit less "messy", I think it's a bit less at least, hope I didn't miss anything. I might be able to squeeze in a few updates to the map if I got time before I go on holiday :)

just adding in my limited experience so far, as it sort of follows alinah's chart but with a curve ball. i stopped feeding each time once i got the growing new feathers message.

from starting yellow -> 4x doman plums got me to sylph green.
sylph green -> 4x o'ghomoro berries got me to gobbiebag brown.
gobbiebag brown -> 3x o'ghomoro berries got me to ash grey.

at that point i decided market board prices were insane and i got some room in my fc garden to grow more berries. i'm ultimately trying for morbol green, but am going in small steps, just 1 new feathers growing message at a time, so this will take a while. will try and update this as i can once my berries have grown.
