and more than that it's surely at least as fast as the actual animation .
and it's a all or nothing situation .

I actually was in the beta, and of course the first day. I don't have to prove anything.
I also really don't have to engage in another quoting marathon, i had enough of this in this thread.
If you're denying the fact that the animation in the 2.0 does look way worse than the current one, you're either blind, or a troll. Its not a matter of opinion anymore, its a matter of common sense.
You can have the last word, i'm done.
Lol jesus i never knew ppl played games to look how their chars moves >.>. 1.0 is a terrible controlled game its super clunky and doesn't feel real at all. You can't even run in a proper circle in this game w/o spinning the camera with your char.
Most of the ppl who complain are just immersion junkies anyway, I'm so sick of FF fans thinking everything about every FF is this little unique snowflake that descended from heaven well it isn't. The one thing SE has always worked #1 on and that is battle animations in every single even on NES FF. The fact that ppl are even saying that this is gonna make me stop playing the game or ruin it for me is laughable at best.
no one said that 2.0 animation are better than 1.0 we are speaking about the gameplays issues ...
Aesthetics may not be a big part of gameplay but its the small things that bring a world to life. You can create an graphically amazing looking game but without the small attention to detail the world would just feel dead and get old fast. FFXIV is a perfect example. Below is a video of the small Aesthetic extras that XI had and its stuff like this that made Vana'diel come to life. These Aesthetics are completely useless to gameplay but it gave XI the extra something and i hope ARR will also pay attention to small details and have slimier extras in the gameworld

Movement animation in FFXIV was amazing, i would of loved to have it in ARR but if it effects fundamental gameplay guess it can't be helped. Its sad to see it go but hopefully ARR will make up for it in other areas.
That's very awkward actually, and a reason I have a hard time playing "most MMOs."
It's SO much easier to just be able to turn my character around and dash off in another direction immediately the way FFXIV is now than to spin my camera all the way around before I can move. >.> That's just a step backwards in game design if you ask me.
(And you assumed I play with a keyboard and mouse. I actually have to play with a controller due to a hand injury. :3 I can't play more than an hour or so a day with a keyboard and mouse.)
because time and time again we see how far focusing on gameplay gets you, its the developers easy card is what it is. if the story isn't engaging, if the game cant hold your attention then gameplay is worth nothing. FFXIV had something different i liked it. now it simply aims to be like all the rest.
i subbed FF14 for a year, now i wish i could just get all my money back. from what i see the chances of me playing FF14 2.0 is very slim
that's not a step backward or forward , it's just a different choice ...
If you say we did not have worse Animations than we have currently, then you either dont know it, or you did not see it. And according to your Character-History you started last Year and not in 2010. First Alpha was actually in March 2010. So i would assume you simply dont know it, which is not a bad thing.... just saying.
Where did i say that? Since people brought up "Sideway Walking" and "Strafing", i just pointed out that we also have that right now in 1.0. Active-Mode -> Target Lock -> Go check it yourself.
This has nothing to do with Camera-Movement, or comparing, or whatever else you are implying. I did not say, or ever said, that the Demo Movements look better or worse than 1.0 Animations. All im talking about right now is that we have "Sideway Walking" and "Strafing" in 1.0 and that i dont get how people complain about something we have right now.
Camera-Control is something totally different to me and i wont judge about it, until i see it myself or can test it myself.
