If your idea of solving repair issues is to chain 44 FATEs in a row every single time your durability starts getting low (for the record, death is not the only thing that reduces item durability), I don't think we can establish a common ground on which to have a reasonable debate. You are aware of the Fact that certain Items are not even worth selling on the Markets, since people either dont buy/need them or you will get less than you would from a NPC? So selling stacks of certain Items to a NPC is please what? Exactly; generating Gil.

If Fates are the only way for people to generate GC Seals.... then yeah, that would be masochism.

Pray enlighten us then, to what your renewable methods for getting 12000 grand company seals (an approximation of the cost of a full repair of 12 items, discounting the offhand in case your class does not use one) quickly and efficiently are.

I'm sure everyone reading this thread, myself included, would genuinely love to know.

I just got to end game and realized this. I'm sorry for being such a noob about this, but what are the ways to regenerate gil right now? I have saved about 250k gil worth of allagans, but with the repair costs (I've been helping some friends out, doing bosses just for the fun of it) I'm slowly getting broke on my 50k gil.. :(

I haven't leveled a crafting class and I heard it costs a lot just to level one. I can tell I've spent quite a lot on my level 17 alchemist on teleports and materials.. probably about 10k gil?

And since most of the stuff I farm is end game bosses and dungeons, I don't really have anything to gain more money on..

It's real simple, either fix this issue SE or people like me will not sub at the end of our free time. It's stupid that the costs I incur to repair approach 5k after a few runs with 0 deaths. It's one thing to incur a repair penalty on death, but quite another when you do for clearing content...you're still penalized. There's no way to make consistent Gil to keep up with costs.

Also, for those who say do a Tradeskill, but what if I don't play MMOs to grind crafting and gathering for hours on end for minimal reward? I have to grind leves for a few hours just to run a dungeon or two. No thanks! When the free time is up, people won't sub to a game regardless of how good it is if this repair/Gil issues continues.


Even if they just made it where your gear takes damage on death only, that would be a huge help.

Does anyone else think it is ridiculous that we have not heard from a mod or CM on this issue. An economy in deflation will kill a game faster then almost any other issue. People shouldn't have to level a craft to play. People shouldn't even have to do daily quests to play if those ever come around. If all you want to do is run dungeons and raids once you get to max level then the game should support you enough to do this.

This is a game after all. Something that people do in their leisure time for fun and relaxation. If I have to play 3-4 days a week grinding minuscule amounts of Gil just so I can run a few raids and dungeons then the game is severely flawed.

This needs to be fixed and fixed fast. You can't let the economy drain its Gil then introduce a way to make it. Must patch in a way to make more Gil now or take out some of the Gil sinks or his very fun game will fail again.

At this point in the game, the market has an influx of goods and has yet to stabilize. When it does, prices too will stabilize, and we will see more gains on crafting goods placed upon the AH. Yet, you cannot expect much when everyone is crafting the same materials/item and placing them up on the AH. Supply and demand dictates that the price of that particular good/item will drop to far below actual market value.

Why does it have to be about crafting? Many people just wanna play the adventure classes and not HAVE to craft. Most MMOs allow people to enjoy the game without losing precious life grinding up a craft. It shouldn't be mandatory. Not only that, with little Gil it's near impossible right now anyhow, with little reward for doing it to boot.

Like I said, when free time is up, there will be way less server population problems if this doesn't get resolved.
