While it isn't posted often, "Lavender Purple" is the same as the "Lavender Blue" haircolor, which is why people here usually say "Lavender Blue" when referring to this color.

You really should stop feeding it mixed fruits. You are most likely wasting your resources because you'll go from colour to colour without knowing what you're landing on. You may have very well already landed on Soot Black but because you didn't stop after a 'feather proc', went on to another.
Check my sheet and it will be much clearer.
i keep deepen the colours but now i got lavender purple :X i have read what someone pointed but i had already fed my choco when i wronte my post here....
now how do i go from lavender purple to soot black?? > . <
Aww, congrats!!!
I feel like I'm trapped in a loop for my Ice Blue. Tried to hit either Ice Blue or White from a freshly lemoned yellow. Used plums and 1 Valfruit and got Syph Green ... but no biggy, cause everything I see online shows that it's just 1 step from Snow White or Ice Blue with the use of plums. Gave him plums until 1 message and came to find that he's Celeste Green. :/
Gave him an Apple, message on the first fruit so I let it be. Came out that syph green. Gave him a plum again with a message on the first one and left it like that ... will see how it worked out when I wake up.
It he comes out Celeste Green again I'm gonna have to try something else.
OH, thanks for the reply!
If I get the same result with Celeste Green I now know what to try! (Good thing no one in my FC uses Pineapples ... got like 60+ where as I'm gonna have to hope no one touched the Valfruit by the time I wake up :v )
It seems that I'm stuck on a RNG loop with Ink Blue, Kobold Brown and Deepwood Green.
When I have Ink Blue, i feed my chocobo with a Pineapple.
When I have Kobold Brown, i feed my chocobo with a Plum.
When I have Deepwood Green, i feed my chocobo with a Valfruit.
Soot Black doesn't want to pop out :(.
I'll try to keep track the number of loops I do to see if how many loops I have to do before RNG decides to give me my Chocoblack.
Is this broke? I have now fed my chocobo 100 fruit and no message on feathers changing! Is it stuck at Green Apple?
I'm trying to get Soot Black, but it keeps switching between Ink blue and Deepwood Green.
Any tips?
Alright I need some help.
I'm currently at Adamantoise Green: 88 110 81
I got here from Seafog Blue: 93 122 154
My aim is: Sky Blue: 124 171 207
I fed 2 Mamook Pears, 2 Xelphatol Apples, and 1 O'ghomoro Berries to try raise red/green whilst keeping blue, but now I realize that would have kept red/green whilst DROPPING blue... after it already changed.
How should I proceed? D:
As I said just a few posts above, I'm in the same situation as you, Rivest and Raze_Endbringer. I'm having Kobold Brown, Ink Blue and Deepwood Green.
My guess is that the color range between these three and Soot Black is so close that the system picks one at random.
So, I would keep feeding only one fruit until the feather proc (corresponding to your current color, obviously) and pray to see Soot Black happen.
SetoKaiba,
I'ld suggest to feed it plums.
Feed till one growing feather message, you "should"( it is possible to skip colors) land on Raptor blue, from there you should feed some more plums until and other growing feather message and it should bring you to sky blue.
From Marsh green (55, 63, 39) to soot black (47, 47, 39) anybody got any idea?
From what I've registered from people and have on my chart, many are in the Midnight Blue - Kobold Brown - Ink Blue - Deep Green loop.
From what I can recall most that have not had loops (none I've found on the forums) was going from Currant Purple (feed pineapple to feather proc) to Soot Black, and Marsh Green (feed berries to feather proc) to soot black.
Thank you Snootles for your advice, I will continue my “Adventure to ‘Soot Black’” on my last post and on this one. I will only feed the one food until I receive the “.. is beginning to grow new feathers!” proc message. I hope my old and/or this post will help those who are looking for Soot Black.

Stop feeding it mixed fruits. It is so unnecessary and most likely will you just bounce you through a bunch of colours. Sky Blue is easily obtained through just Doman Plums from Desert Yellow on.
There is no 'tweaking' colours by giving it mixed fruits. It's becoming clearer and clearer that it's just presets. Check my sheet, it will become much more clear then.
I'm currently at Rooooooyaaal Blueeee (Guess that quote) and would like to get to Soot Black, Tips?
Try Rythea's calculator. Got me out of the loop and to the color I wanted and couldn't get:
This simulator seems quite perfect and can calculate all jumps in one go. (you can go from your yellow to black in one sitting if you so choose)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...9Z4/edit#gid=0
Copy the original, as it's read only.
Select the color you have now or had before feeding last, then the one you desire.
Erase the current fruit names and quantities from the white fields on big chart, nothing else (or you will erase the v-lookup formulas)
Type in the fruits you just fed or are thinking of feeding and it will calculate the end result, as you add and remove fruits you'll see what the next result is (and it seems very accurate and the range of +/- 5 doesn't seem to need adjustment.)
The chart can be used as reference, failed for me but the idea of what to feed overall works: https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1814x979q90/661/vBZmlD.png
hey i wanted a shoot black chocobo so after reading some time here i decided to feed it
20 * Xelphatol Apple
20 * Mamook Pear
20 * O'Ghomoro Berry
my result after waiting was acorn brown
can someone please help me?
Snootles, I sent you a bunch of single fruit feeds and their results of my fc members, exluded blood to dalamund to rolanberry since that seems to be a confirmed method.
Will keep yoru charts open to report further changes.
Dalamund Red from Desert Yellow on the first try! Thank you all for the very insightful research and development!

Check my post above yours. The calculator will tell you where you are, where you need to go and use the flow chrt to add fruits as indicated to get to Soot black, adjusting quantities as needed.
Your red is currently too high, your green slightly so. You will probably need some berries, but don't go overboard. Adding that many fruits is a waste and changes cap sooner with just one or two feeds.
I just checked and 15 berries, 11 pears and 1 apples should land you on soot black
At Abyssal Blue, want to go to Grape Purple
I've used simulators which was a bust, I've combed through the internet and followed both charts I've seen floating around. There seems to be hardly any information on birds this color so could someone direct me.

Everything go according to my calucation.
Total Fruit - 7 Val 2 Plum
Feed Order - 4 Val -> 2 Plum -> 3 Val
Feather proc message at 3rd Val and everyfruits after this til empty.
They all matter, it's amount of berries. So far, we have seen that the proc only indicates a change in color took place, but what comes before also counts. Some people have changed colors with one fruit, others with 3, and as you'll see in the calculator, there is a tolerance in the range of where you land that when viewed in changes across RGB, you may land in one with one value being higher than the the accepted and may need one more or less fruit to get that value to change into the desired color.
As it calculates through all the colors to land at your desired, it goes through the ranges that may add up over time with feeds and considers that for adjustment (you may have landed in Sunset Orange same as me, but depending on feeds, your red value may be higher than mine and we may need one more or less fruit overtime)
Maybe try removing either red or green? Instead of adding? I'm not sure. It seems that you were on the right track when you hit celeste green and maybe should've added another plum instead of an apple. Almost like the apple backtracked and pushed you back into the green-ish spectrum.
The math and simulator suggest 1 pear, 2 apples and 1 pineapple. Those cycle you through midnight/abyssal blue like I had and the pineapple throws you to grape purple like I had before, too.
2 of each as suggested above would land you on currant purple.
Check it out and post whichever result to know them and prove validity, but if it lands on either, it proves the validity of this simulator even more, which would be great feedback.
Wait, i have no experience in google spreadsheets, how do i select the colour?
My first attempt i wanted ice blue, followed what others had done to achieve it and got Lotus Pink.
Reset it and this time followed what someone had posted to get Snow White, yesterday when i logged in what do i get, Bone White. So yeah there has to be RNG involved, more so then real life RGB. I think i will feed him plums to try to get to blue in my attempt to achieve ice Blue once again
