Crossing my fingers for Tanaka the Doblyn NM.
I would like NMs with different time intervals. Give it time and the NM system will mature, I don't exactly want XI's NM structure nor do I want 24 hour pop intervals or anything sort of strict where it causes over resentment in intra-playerbase relations due to over competition. I would like more diverse NMs, if its an NM guildleve the NM should not repeat in wild. There were repeats of NMs in XI, I didn't like that. Just give us unique NMs with various pop times, if an NM has awesome gear it should have a longer pop time. No one should wait over an hour for what we have now.
i have played pretty much all SE games, pretty much all FF titles (all but the one for a mobile phone) some i completed more than 1 time, ( FFVI and FF tactics more than 4 times)
Please tell me what SE game was actually hard? None of the FF titles was hard, The FF series is pretty much mainstream.
I love the games, but they are all easy! FFXI is not hard too, it is just time consuming and here we go back to your first statement:
'Nobody, especially me ever said time = skill'
if not time, then what is essential to complete all those games?
Skill is what you need in games like Musha Aleste, SF III and so on...
Skill is when you beat your game with a single coin in the arcade center.
RPG? easy....
I really wish to get a lot of cool content in FFXIV, lots and lots of rare things, hidden side quests, you name it. It would love the game more challenging but waking up in the middle of the night for a NM? NO thanks!
See, as just such a person I am old enough to have a job and a wife. Which means playing the game needs to involve something other than standing around waiting when I have the time to play. If you want to have HNMs that require 9999 Faction points to trigger, go right ahead, becasue at least then you are playing on your way there. And you can have your rare gear, because you can earn those faction points and trigger a before I can.
Casuals (like myself) are not asking that you make the content easy, we are just asking that there be a path to unlock/access the content. Content can be way cooler, than sitting around waiting for something to pop and hoping someone in my party spammed Enter fast enough to claim. That is actually anti-content....you may call that doing something...I call it doing nothing....and would rather the development team work on almost anything else in the game content wise.
But I also agree that we don't see enough of the old FF in the new versions. Dungeons used to be freaking deadly, it sucked to die, and you had to be careful and smart with how you played. That's the element we need carried forward from the old Final Fantasy's, not camping a pop location on a clock. There are a thousand better content ideas that still separate the men from the boys.
Sadly I was playing the original FF on my iPhone and it has been easy mode'd compared to intial NES release. It was harder than it is today. What happened to monsters that literally turned you to stone being frequently run into (in the latest release I haven't had to use a needle yet), or having to conserve your magic so that you had enough cures to make it not just to the boss, but also back out of the dungeon alive.
US??? Not able to KILL something? Woaaah dude don't make me pull out the Dipolmats fail card. You raged uraeus with 8 people I can't wait until they lower this max party size so I can see you and your crew with 2 alliances just waiting for the first one to wipe.
People like us, and people like you have a big huge difference. Its called skill and execution. Not to mention common sense. Move on son.
A lot of good arguments from both camps. I personally want some kind of satisfaction gear-wise and time spent. No one wants to play an EZmode game, thats why WoW lost its great player-base and is just a revolving subscription door now.
Sure there were hard-mode fights that the average player would never attempt, or get gear from. But all you really had to do was wait 2 months and get a new, easy piece of gear with a higher iLevel.
It started at the far other end of the spectrum, where ~1% of the population has set foot in the t1 raid, one reason they re-hashed so many old raid encounters.
I only hope that SE learns from history. There is a fine balance between catering to the hardcore and the masses, and leaving everyone with some sense of accomplishment.
FF = hard? RPG = hard?
Hardcore-gamer isnt me calling something hard.
I do see this arguement brought up quite often though, name something/anything that is hard.
(My responce ahead of time is "Its not hard, its time consumeing".) This answer is fairly easy to say about anything aslong as theres a guide out.
With your logic nothing in the world is hard and i can easily repeat it just like everyone elce.
