What's your first impression of Eureka?

Fourth, the NM fates in here are actually challenging and you can die if not careful of your surroundings.

PoTD bores me to death, same as Diadem, hunts and trash mobs in dungeons. Eureka I actually like, I have to actually read what Krile says as the quests don't hand hold you, people actually have to work and communicate together besides the usual just "hi", I have to actually pay attention and push my dps to achieve those exp chains, aid my team mates from ultimate death, it keeps me on my toes.

Could it improve? Yes, a lot. Starting with the rewards. Upgrading the relic gear and weapon doesn't look to appealing when the gear doesn't even last. Add more spice to the exping, make the elemental wheel more engaging with the battles, make it matter more.

You don't have to pay attention with a good tank. A good tank will literally just train the mobs to you and all you have to do is mindlessly hit your rotation. I jolt 2'd mobs to death while eating dinner in a party. Maybe it's more fun as a tank or healer, but as a dps it is utterly joyless.

NMs are the only thing of substance in the whole thing to the point where if you don't mind waiting and doing something more productive you can afk and wait for people to spawn them and you can waltz in, kill, and profit.

Wow, you opened my eyes! It's all clear and make sense and importantly it changed from boring open world trash mob slaying to a new stage of mmorpg fun!!!!

I don't like fates, but they seem to be here to stay so at least make the mechanics more interesting. Like in Abyssea, you had to trigger certain statuses on NM's that would show as "!!" on the monsters by using a certain weaponskill or spell depending on the in game hour. These triggers would increase the chances of drop rates of certain items iirc.

I see there are optional items you can buy like in Abyssea. Except in Aby you used the currency of the zone. Make it so that these items really help you out so that people actually use them.

For me it seems like a good start of something. I am one of the unpopular opinions as I know a lot of people dislike it. I don't blame them, it's not content for everyone. However, should dislike it for the right reasons and not overexagerate when claiming it's Diadem 3.0, or mindless zerg, because if that were the case, I wouldn't even bother with it yet I am. Not only it's a false statement, it misguides people who haven't tried it out yet.

I was just trying it yesterday, I don't even leveled up and I was bored... And I don't exactly know what's the point of the eureka's stuff? Ilvl 355 max, with 5 materia slots? Is this really interesting somewhere? I have my own kind of gameplay and sacrificing my defense for more materia doesn't feel right for me (even if a know that people is going for more more more Dps even as tank) what's the points of this?

hmm.Well we certainly had different experiences as all tanks in my party would sometimes die if we had too many aggros. We couldn't just AoE everything down, we had to CC. We were fighting mobs 3,4-5 levels higher above us and reaching chain 30. I don't even know if they were appropriately using the elemental wheel.as I saw some were utterly.confused by it. so idk

Oh yes, yes you can. My tank had 40k HP and was getting hit for 1k on mobs +3 to him (and +5 to us). Eos was able to heal it with absolutely no intervention from me whatsoever. All I had to do was put up DoTs and spam Broil. It doesn't get more mindless than that. Had I put the keyboard on the floor and mashed buttons with my feet while playing on my phone, it'd have worked well enough still.

You can't get more mindless than that.

I'm not sure if anybody mentioned it, but do people realize that there are lootboxes with random rewards? They were prominent in palace already, but they still keep doing it despite all the controversies. So low EXP, mindnumbing grind without any changes to accelerate combat (if they got rid of gcd and made it a dynasty warrior-type gameplay, people might have been happier) and rare boss spawns that instakill you and drop lootboxes....I'm just happy it is entirely skippable and not representative of the rest of the game...
