So Im trying to get Currant Purple....

I am currently at Dalmund Red...

I was wondering if anyone had a way of getting Currant purple either from where I am at or from a base Desert Yellow (Id be willing to use a lemon to start over to get this)....

Can anyone help?

Alright, I managed to get Seafog Blue, I'm aiming for Sky Blue, which is a few points in all 3 colours above mine. Any suggestions?

Use the fruit that would do the opposite effect to go "backwards", it's on there aswell :).

Ok, so I gave my Sylph Green Choco one plum message hoping to get Ice blue or white but I got Celeste Green instead ...
This chart says one apple will take it to ice blue but the other chart posted says it will take it back to that green ...

Anyone got any exp with turning Celeste Green into whit or ice blue?

My choco is currently Cactuar Green... After following a guide to get slate grey... I'm so tired of this. Does anyone have any clue how I could get from Cactuar green to some form of grey or black? I would really appreciate it.

Soot Black still being elusive to me! Ended up with Shadow Blue after using 2 pears from Currant Purple. Fed 2 apples (proc after 2nd) and 1 pear (proc message received after this 1 pear) and ended up Marsh Green. Have fed 1 berry (proc message received) and will find out in 6hrs.

I got Woad Blue when shooting for Charcoal Grey today.


First fed 11 apples and reached Millioncorn Yellow.

Finally, I acquired the last 10 berries, but ended up with Woad Blue instead of Charcoal Grey.

I really like how it turned out so I'm probably sticking with this instead of trying for Charcoal again. Until I get bored of it, at least.

Well im at hunter green so I went in the right direction

16 Apples, 6 first session, 10 in another, has only gotten me to Pumpkin Orange.

What am I doing wrong? Each time I counted the prompts of growing new feathers, which according to this should mean that another color change has occured. What should have been blood red has only gotten me two color changes... I'm hoping to get from blood red to mesa red. Can anyone help me out?

Stuck on a never ending circle now between Royal Blue, Regal Purple, and Dalamud. Been trying to get Rolanberry which everyone seems to be able to achieve from Dalamud red by feeding berries except me. I have tried the whole mixing fruit things and RGB formulas, used my own processes and got closer, but still cant seem to find Rolanberry. Ironically i have been able to help members in my FC get the colors they want but i cant seem to help myself!!

Fed two Berries got "begins growing new feathers" message. So her is to hoping that I get Rolanberry...and not find Regal Purple again...for the 4th time. At least i know i can feed it an apple to put it back :P

Well, this is my advice... :
Dalamud Red (113, 22, 22)
Mamook x3 + O'ghromoro x3
Valfruit x1 + Doman x1

Ending Value: (83, 22, 32)
Rolanberry Red (84, 19, 35)

Feed in a 1:1 ratio. Basically, feed 1 Mamook -> 1 O'ghromoro -> 1 mamook -> 1 O'ghromoro -> 1 mamook -> 1 O'ghromoro -> 1 Valfruit -> 1 doman. That's what I would do, and I tend to work in extremely close ranges when making my FC's choco colors.

Anyone got an idea on how to get from Loam brown (63 57 47) to soot black (47 47 39)?

I can't vouch that this would work. Soot Black has been an extreme wild card for me, one that I have a rough time getting 100% down. I'd try:
1 O'ghromoro (58, 52, 52)
1 Mamook (53, 57, 47)
1 O'ghomoro (48, 52, 52)
1 Xelphatol (53, 47, 47)
1 Mamook (48, 52, 42)
1 Xelphatol (53, 47, 37)
1 Mamook (48, 52, 32)
1 O'ghomoro (43, 47, 37)

Here's my results so far:

Desert Yellow + 12 Berries, 6 Pears, 6 apples = Qiqirin Brown
Qiqirin Brown + 7 Berries, 7 Pears, 7 Apples = Chocolate Brown
Chocolate Brown + 14 Berries, 22 Pears, 22 Apples = Void Blue
Void Blue + 5 Berries, 10 Pears, 10 Apples = Ink Blue
Ink Blue + 2 Pineapples = Deepwood Green
Deepwood Green + 1 Valfruit = (I'll know in 5 hours)

Hopefully this maintenance wont screw with my bird feeding.

I went another route already.

Went with 4 berries, 2 pear, 2 pineapple and 1 apple.

This put me at 48, 50, 42

Hello~ I'm new to this tread and I'm aiming for Ink blue.
With advice from my wife I give my choco food till it gives the "begins growing new feathers" message.

Here is the log of what happened to me so far:
(the numbers below are the numbers of "begins growing new feathers" messages I got before waiting 6 hours)
Desert Yellow > Berries > 1 > Cork Brown
Cork Brown > Berries > 1 > Ul Brown
Ul Brown > Berries > 4 > Shale Brown
Shale Brown > Berries > 4 > Lavender Blue
Lavender Blue > Berries > 3 > Othard Blue
Othard Blue > Apple > 2 > Plum Purple

I didn't see that last one coming since it wasn't on the list but for now I guess I'll feed it some more berries to try and get to Royal Blue before I'll feed it Apples again.

If anyone has got a better plan, I'm all ears. (In fact, if you have a better plan I'll take you to a planet where everyone is all ears.)

So... I don't have any screenshots of my choco yet since it's night time, but I got my ICE BLUE finally! Well...First few attempts were just experimental to see what'd happen, then I used a lemon to start fresh. I ended up using 15 Doman Plums, of which the first 3 did nothing, but #4-15 all had the "grows new feathers" message with them. 6 hours later...BAM. Ice blue. I couldn't be happier!

I have been on the slow and painful road on trying to get my chocobo to "Soot Black". I started off trying to get "Slate Gray" but messed up some where and now I am completely lost. I hope The following info helps anyone out. I will also keep editing this post till I finally get "Soot Black".

NOTE: I did not keep track the "Feather Growing" messages procs when feeding, sorry >.<

First Feed

Start : Desert Yellow

• O'Ghomoro Berries (x21)
• Xelphatol Apple (x13)
• Doman Plum (x6)
• Mamook Pear (x7)

NOTE: I feed the Plum at first realizing I was lightning the Red hue, then feed the Apples; 6 to counter the Plums then 7 to match the pear count.

END RESULT: Plum Purple

• Mamook Pear (x15)

END RESULT : Orchard Brown

Been stuck on a loop from midnight blue to blood red trying to get ink blue for days now. Your chart confirms what I thought, depending on +/- 5 or 8 I will overshoot or land properly. I'll know in 30 minutes and if not, check and go to sleep, but it seems like the perfect tool so far. Either way, according to result I'll be able to tell if it's in fact 5 or 8 variance and correct accurately from there. Tank you so much!

Edit: just checked on it and it got the right color. I had the the math and it said 1 pear but the calclator said two. Added the second one and it matched, which also matches the color flow chart options. Great work!

Tried to get soot black. Can't get it. Tried all sorts of "methods" posted here and elsewhere. I just keep getting void blue, midnight blue and whatnot. Worst of all is I had midnight blue, fed it till I got the feather message, came back six hours later and never got an animation. It stayed midnight blue. Clearly the RNG gods are telling me my chocobo wants to be that color so I surrender. lol *waves white flag*

Not sure if this one has been posted up yet but here ya go, managed to get my chocobo to the color of Lavender Purple. I thought it was kind of odd cause I haven't seen this one on any of the guides yet, might just be some kind of in-between colors. I got it by feeding my chocobo O'Ghomoro Berry's, stopping each time in started to grow new feathers and then feeding it again after it changed. Thats the spectrum I've been playing around myself in, remember you can "jump" / "skip" colors, which is stated in the text as well, it's a known fact.
From Celeste green though if you feed it pineapple it should become Ice Blue.

"If in case of several arrows leading to same color; that means all single fed fruit might lead to this color.

This thread is so huge now! Anyway, I had been attempting to get Morbol green, after a lot of back and forth from Moss, to Apple, to Cactaur, I finally made it to Ochu green.

I used a lot of berries, pears and a few apples (I think less than 10 total) so I cannot tell you -exactly- what I used to get there.

However:

From Ochu Green, I fed Berries till first notice, The next result was Hunter Green. (1 berry in my case.)

From Hunter, I fed berries until first notice and I got Morbol! (This took me 3 berries.)

And now Kukuchi is what I envisioned him to be, ever since I started playing 11! A fine Jennet.

I would suggest seperate feeding sessions. Feed him apples til proc. that should put you at susnet.
feed him apples til proc, should put you at blood red.
feed berries til proc. should have dalamund.

Hello everyone, after spending a few days happy with my ink blue chocobo I'm getting more and more urges to finally take the plunge for soot black.

So Tonight I finally decided to stable him up for a shot at the illusive shade, but something weird has happened.

I'm wiling to give him one pineapple to get a single feather proc message. And I tried, but.

He didn't get one so I tried another pineapple.... Then another....... finally on the 4th pineapple he got the feather change notification.
This was alarming to me so I fetched him from stables.
Tried again, and every time I always get the feather proc on the 4th pineapple...
Now I have him de stabled until further notice, and decided to post here about that.

What should I do? Do I just feed him the 4 pineapple? This seems like far too much and will punch me out of my dark colors. Which I almost don't want to risk for such a strange problem, Ink blue is my color of choice, besides soot black... So it's tough to make the decision to try it

Please, everyone who has done 1 fruit and stopped after each feather proc, share your info in my sheet! It's a lot easier than combing through so many forum posts for me.
All my findings are posted HERE.

So far, what is known:
- "Plumage will change in 6 hours" does NOT indicate a colour change. (why does this text exist?)
- "Is beginning to grow new feathers!" message indicates that your chocobo will change colour. Is being called 'feather proc' by most now.
- Taking out your chocobo during the 6 hour waiting period will end the process and not result in a colour change.
- The amount of fruit is irrelevant. Feed 1 type of fruit until 'feather proc' is received. Your chocobo will then change colour.
- There is more than 1 way to get to a colour.
- There is definitely RNG involved. Your 'feather proc' can RNG (RNG feather proc?) and you can receive a colour that is either 'uncommon' or you can skip a step (when using 1 type of fruit).

New findings/speculation:
Mixing fruits seems to be redundant and a waste of gil/resources.
There is no tweaking for RGB. Fruits seem to have preset colours to which they will go to with an element of RNG.
Yes, it is based on RGB but it is a preset never the less.

The 4 pineapples do not determine anything other than that this is how many fruits it takes for YOU (different for everyone) to get the feather proc that indicates colour change. Mind you, you can still get an RNG feather proc which will make you overshoot your goal.

It's been on my sheet since the start almost. Lavender Purple should be named Lavender Blue. It's the same and it belongs in the O'Ghomorro berry colour tree.
