I missed the boat on Achievements. That is, I don't really care about them. Same with Xbox Achievements. Never understood why people work on them. To me, I just want to have fun doing things, if I get an Achievement on the way, great. Maybe I will grow to like them...
I think more people will care about achievements in XIV considering there are actual in-game rewards for them.
I agree. Every game i've played except DCUO, the achievements were useless and I had no drive to do them at all. I just want to play not /love every squirrel I see. Achievements are just a mechanism to artifically extend content buying the developers time to push out the next content imo.Quote:

I translated 2 new posts about the incoming achievement system since it has relevance to a thread I made, but it looks like Reinhart already did that. Anyway, you should probably discuss it there, since too much discussion here clutters things up as it's supposed to be a translation (not a discussion) thread.

Dunno if the seasonal achievements will be "one-time" though. Just more annual - if you miss the Christmas achievements this year, I'm sure they'll recycle the same event for Christmas next year giving you the opportunity again.

I can't see many people not using the queue, good news though.
remember before .19 when you could select an action while your character was performing another and have it fire off? Ie you're curing some one you could set up another cure or attack while your character was casting.
there bringing that back as an optional thing.
Awesome, that combo system post actually cleared up a few of my questions. I just hope that they fix the animations soon after, because i know they wont be fixed in 1.20 :(

So thankful for the action queue, it annoyed the hell out of me how it is now, I'd always hit enter too soon and my character would stand there like a dumb bimbo, now she'll finally understand me again!
Holy shite do I know what you mean. Then as your in a raging battle you THINK you cure'd/saved someone's ass instead, now the PT is wiping. -.- Thank the GODS! I hope they just use w/e was the setup they had before and don't try to re-code or w/e the hell they do; just turn it back on please lol. ;)
I just hope this action queue doesn't act like it did before where all your buffs and skills would cover the one before, like cutting it off but still going off.. if you get what I mean? lol. It still does that sometimes and I hate it.
I think Yoshi said something about making it so that Actions have to play out fully instead of cutting off the previous one in favor of the next. If this is the case, they will have had to recode it.

This is one of those threads that do not need bumping. It's not a discussion. That being said it's perfectly fine for maybe a few posts after it expressing a reaction, but when people start discussing a post for 2+ pages it becomes a problem.

If you are curious to find out for yourself just click on the Dev Tracker and see if the japanese text lines up with what has been tanslated so far. If you see text that doesn't look like it's been translated then you'll know there is new info.
As it stands right now the last Dev Tracker was from the english community regardng what was noted earlier today lol. Though hopefully if they are staying on track we might see something on classes either tomorrow or Friday, it would suck to have to wait another weekend for it.
Sounds like that could result in a nightmare in terms of number of items and their variants. Different levels of quality, by materia, by color...yikes. Interesting to see how they handle that and how the community responds, particularly regarding the buying and selling of all these possible variants.
