This post made absolutely no sense. Do you need a hanky? Someone just had a terrible case of verbal diarrhea.
haha what doesnt make sense you already know the darkhold content is obsolete pretty much they probaly added the shitty ifirt loot system just so you would have to keep redoing it cuase they cant add content fast enough to satisfy people with nothing better to do then play a incomplete game
^ no but this game after a year barely has any endgame content. We have NMs (which are left alone because they made the gear not worth it) then we got darkhold, which is still good, but since materia came that stuff is now not even close to the best, so its not used much...and then ifrit, which is partially ruined by its nonsensical drop system...and again, materia stuff is better.
i think thats about it. I cant see how people would want to pay for such minimal content, or content which is either setup/rewarded poor that noone uses it (remember how excited people were for that chocobo escort thing?) or is completed to death within the first couple weeks by most people.
Leave that up to the player, Worry about you not others, if they love the game let em play such as myselfQuote:
I cant see how people would want to pay
Thank you
No one wants to pay.
I would have been paying since 1.18 if they said I had to.
1.18 is what I would have expected a title to be at launch. 1.19 would have been the first update. 2.0 would be the first expansion. If I'm playing I'll pay. We're waiting until 1.20 anyway, and since SE is usually a month behind schedule I would worry too much. They gave us heads up way in advance.
If you'll pay when it's fun, then why have you been playing this long? In 2011 people don't play games just because they're free; There are a ton of free games out there. If you don't want to pay, then don't. Plain and simple.
90% of the people that say they 'wont pay' will pay anyway, because this is the interwebs and it's cool to think that just because SE has finally started listening to it's players then we better scare them into not charging us (or charging less.)
Times is hard nowadays, if you can't afford to pay I feel bad for ya. I'm not saying anything bad about these people (or really anyone for that matter). As a fortunate person in today's economy (meaning I have a decent job) I accept that it's time to get on with the paying.
Just saying if I had to i'd have paid since 1.18.
....... OBVIOUSLY I'd still pay half if they offered it. dur?
If I don't feel like it is worth the money, I will quit until it is. That is besides the point. What we are observing here seems to have been going on since these boards started. That is that if you aren't a blatant fanboy of Yoshi or SE, you aren't allowed to have an opinion.
If anyone decides not to continue playing because of the subscription fees, aren't you essentially saying that they should shut up and not have an opinion? Only positive words for SE are allowed? Well I'm sorry, but SE will never return to their glory days if people never complain or voice their feelings. The only reason FFXIV is getting better is because people did do that.
As for the concept of a 'complete' game, I know this will continually be taken out of context by people who want to be 'positive'. There isn't much point in having a proper discussion because of it.
Starlord; in your list, you neglected the four or five people who stand on relatively neutral ground and see things from both views. :P
No, I don't believe that SE is a not-for-profit organisation, because that would be ridiculous. The reason I have for stating that the introduction of the fees is not for revenue is that it's given in the previous posts by Yoshi everywhere. If they needed money to fund V2.0 it wouldn't be happening at all, so it's obvious that they don't. This means they're relying on the re-release of the game. The subscription fee is for the content between now and V2.0 is to ensure that the current player base feels they have a reason to stick around, it's been said many times that they want to gain our trust.
While ultimately this leads to more revenue in the distant future, it's for the time being that we're being given a choice to pay and play or not, and even if a majority of people opt to leave, all of the planned events are going ahead regardless. The main objective of the development team is to provide us with original, fun content to keep us occupied while recieving feedback in order to make the game more enjoyable, not to take our money to patch up the holes of a sinking ship.
I still stand by my statement that >90% of the current player base will be back for V2.0.
