And because it's against the ToS, yes.

That has nothing to do with the presence of 18+/ERP advertisements in the Party Finder, which is only orthogonally related to the original issue at hand (one GM having a power trip and issuing Warnings to people for something that is not in violation of the ToS) and is just being used as a bludgeon of an excuse for the GM's behavior.

Actually it's that they were removed with a warning placed on player accounts that I think has people up in arms.

Squenix wants to change the rules on that? Most folks will grumble but accept it. It's changing the rules, not letting anyone know, then penalizing players who were I guess supposed to telepathically know about the rule change?

Except, again, this is the GM saying you can't use the PF for Advertising AT ALL, not just RP

Yet also only enforces it only on RP, as easily seen by the advertising of feet pics, and the content selling at the top.

And also enforces it on RP that literally has no ERP attached to it at all. Someone putting up a PF screaming to the heavens for sexual activity is also extremely rare in general. Most of these do not actively provide ERP.

This is a simple misunderstanding of communication here. I'm saying there was no warning that RP couldn't be put up in PF anymore, not that people didn't get a warning on their account.

The ERP stuff should definitely be gone.

Due to different laws around the globe regarding the age of consent, and laws around sexual content that can be shared with a minor, there's a likihood that someone joining ERP may *not* be the age of consent, or one may be of consenting age in one country, but not in the other.

Plus, how can someone give reasonable proof that someone is of consenting age? Their voice? They can use voice changers. A picture of their passport/drivers license? That's problematic, and they can always use editing software. It opens a can of worms, one that Squeenix probably doesn't want to face the legal repercussions for.

As for ordinary RP? Eh, I don't mind it.

I'm not sure what you're implying.

I'm not against role-play - especially since I'm a role-player myself. I'm against the idea of people engaging in erotic role-play in public and with people they do not know are legally adults.

^this. They would take down some RP lists, but not remove content sale listings on PF. I legit never seen the Duty Roulette tab ever be used to actually get people interested in dailies. It's just pure advertisement to sell clears and mounts.

That said, it's vague what "a reasonable person would find offensive". It would seem, however, that some people are reporting RP Party Finder posts. Enough that this GM has taken action, removed posts, and issues permanent warnings on a whole lot of people recruiting for RP-related activities... Even to the extent that someone looking for a fishing buddy was addressed by GM.

IF this was about keeping PFs clean, and not about an indiscriminate wide brush being used, I'd have no qualms with it. But it's not. It's harmless, SFW PR getting shut down for no known reason.

Fishers deserve the right to look for a party of friends while fishing.. which is actual game content..
