My experience is the same, barely seen parser abuse. Yet to see a solution how to fix that from anti parsers. I'm still all eager to hear their solution to it. Btw great post, love everything about it and you have one of the best arguments in this thread /hats off.
Best solution I can think of to alleviate the concerns of anti-parser players is to simply put into more actual class/job/role learning into the game, so that by the time the parser's capable of judging them, it's mostly just telling them when they're having trouble syncing rotation and mechanics or are short on gear, not that they have no idea how to play their class/job/role... and boosting their swift kick out of party. Give some actual support, rather than trying to hide the failings of players who have trouble figuring out how to optimize their gameplay on their own (or, at least as often, are unwilling to look up a guide, or don't wish to put in the time on a dummy or across numerous fights to build muscle memory--the benefits of which are easily doubled with a parser).
What I've seen a lot is stopping runs because of the DPS issue like "In the end, we'll hit enrage" when most of the team is still learning to deal with mechanics.
I still think SSS is a good progression tool, when it comes to corrrecting pure DPS flaws. If you do a really bad rotation, then you won't clear the corresponding SSS. And if you clear SSS but fail in the content, then it's because you're screwing some mechanics. Like someone posted here, you could gate the entry to content with SSS, to get rid of "bad players thinking they are the best slice bread"...
That's exactly what Faust and Hummelfaust are, technically. But SSS doesn't make you waste 7 other people's time.
No person in the pro parser camp cares about someone doing 1000 if he or she is doing 1500. It's the ones who laze around and let the party carry them who are mentioned. Aka ice mages, or those watching Netflix. I won't even bother with your countless fallacious strawmen since a couple others addressed them already.
I'm less concerned with the small chance of trolls, and more concerned with the average Joe. Every single DF run is gonna dissolve into an argument with parsers. My healer is gonna ask why my DRG's DPS is lower than "some other DRG" and the DRG is gonna tell the healer that her healing is terrible. And my DFs are gonna take longer. As much as I want parsers I'm glad Yoshi-P is smart enough to see that and we will never get them.
I hope the Anti DPS Meter fraction isn't doing trial roulette these days.
I got into Ravana (STORY MODE!) yesterday and it was the same desaster I've read of in another thread. The damage these DD threw out was sooo low. One of them did less than 100 DPS.

Additional to just showing the numbers a performance gauge would be nice, which shows how you perform compared to other players in the same job at the same gear level.
TIL: every single person who doesn't want parsers are lazy and don't put out high numbers.

There is one comment from an earlier poster I noticed (can't remember who so if it was you I give credit to you) about a concern about the formation of a dps/numbers obsessed community and that is most definitely not an invalid concern and the sort of risk you take once parsers are fully allowed. SE has been very consistent about not wanting to tell the players the actual calculations of all the parts of the damage calculations, a stark contrast to WoW that tells the players absolutely everything about the the calculations and numbers so the players can max out their performance and it does quickly become a "thing" where everyone will change to whatever the best spec is (and there is ALWAYS an optimal dps spec, MMO's are and will always be nothing but number generators with a fancy UI) even for a theoretical 1% increase.
However, I don't necessarily see that becoming an issue with this game and I will tell you why. There is no ambiguity on specializations or different builds in this game, every class has exactly one and only one rotation they can do to achieve maximum dps and (outside of mch, brd, and drg to a lesser extent) there is very little rng or randomness to the optimal DPS rotations. Once you know what that optimal rotation is, a parser just tells you how well you're able to execute that rotation in a combat scenario with actual mechanics and things to dodge or moving enemies.
