Your argument was that "It's optional and therefore doesn't break the game." My reply was showing you exactly how ridiculous that is. That's like thinking that no matter what they introduce the fundamentals of the game can't be broken. It's an absurd postion to take.

I'd like to play a game that's made to be challenging. If not challenging then it should at least be engaging and fun. Sure we could go out and fight mobs 10 ranks higher for the challenge but then that wouldn't be very productive. But with your logic we don't have integrity even though the devs are serving us free ranks on a silver platter.
My original point was that SE continues to make leveling easier and wondering why we even have to level when it's possible to do so with no effort.
To answer your last question....No, it doesn't feel rewarding hitting 50 with ffxiv's way of having a plvl. Every other mmo I've played was more engaging with a plvl (except for being a healer in ffxi).
I can agree with this to a certain extent. What is really wrong with the current situation is that you can get better XP with one or two rank 50's doing all the work for you. Basically you can just put on auto follow and go afk. There is something terribly wrong with this picture.
Killing a 35 Mob with 7 people in a party around 28-34 the 8th switch to kill a mob so we can go to our party spot. We got 450+ EXP for it without chain now guess how much we would have got with chain? So you all think this is ok? not broken when Yoshi-p himself said you wont get good exp for a high level killing high mobs for you?
Ok Issac lets see some data not just your opinion, list 1 game that went to shit due to power leveling? Here ill name 3 that are doing great with Power-leveling as an option: World of warcraft burning crusade, lich king, cata.... lol i know this is not Wow... but wow has crazy powerleveling that costs real money.. and its doing fine, and has been for years. So my challenge to you ISSAC and co. list 1 Triple A game that went to shit due to power leveling. Yeah you can't can you?
Yoshi there are a few reasons you are seeing alot of people playing again, Mob lv change, Power leveling as an option now, repair changes, chocobos, glowy ifrit weapons/awesome fight. Don't take away any of these... lets keep ffxiv's population building... which is the whole point of rebuild"
Once again he did not want people to get 500-1k for someone killing a high level mob it's broken and there a lot of people who don't want it. The reason anyone want to get 50 is due to all the nice stuff at the end they got 50 do it and then quit and then what? before it took less then 2week to get 50 being casual about 1month and half that no where as bad. Even in wow if someone run you in dungeon you don't get full EXP for them killing the mob so please it's not about opinion it's about fact that this type of powerlevel would kill the game.
You know why he won't be able to name them? Cause developers are typically not dumb enough to create a method where someone can reach the cap in a matter of hours, particularly as early in the life of the game as FFXIV is. It might be possible to get there pretty fast in WoW now, but it's an extremely well established, old game, with a huge majority of casual players. The situations are very different.
Now I'll ask you a question. List 1 MMO period with power leveling as extreme as is possible in XIV now. WoW's is not.
