Check if they were using their ARR Relic weapon when that happens. DPS should be noticing. Healers probably wouldn't notice since the healing differential is based on the Mind stat and the difference between the level 50 relic weapon and level 60 (non-tomes) weapon is tiny.

The magic damage stat on your weapon is the largest potency increase per stat you can get. 1 magic damage is worth roughly 5-6 Mind.

Nirvana Zeta is 82 magic damage and a Hive Cane is 100 magic damage. That is a comparative increase of a little under 100 mind worth of potency!

Oh, and DPS.

The point is, a healer isn't constantly trying to maximize time casting healing , because that just increases enmity for no reason. If someone forgets to switch out their weapon, the worst that will happen is that a dungeon with high healing requirements (eg Tank's and melee DPS who don't move out of AOE's) requires more strategical use of heals rather than just trying to faceroll over it. A DPS who doesn't switch their weapon is constantly delivering poor DPS performance. Hence the tank and healer being able to out-DPS the DPS.

Which is why I'm thinking the party in question in Lilyanna's story likely were still using a relic weapon past level 54.

And you're looking at the wrong gear. The Nivana Zeta is 82, the Birch Rod(level 60) HQ is 85 which is why I said "non-tomes", but the last weapon you get from a quest is the "Birch Signum" level 58 HQ which is 84 (Or the green Thavnairian Cane from the dungeon is also 84.) So only a difference of 2 points, not 18.

So as I suggested, someone who is under-performing by such a margin, likely is using a not-fully upgraded Relic weapon or somehow managed to not acquire and equip the weapons given during MSQ.

I've purposely overhealed to steal aggro from tanks like that because I was easier to keep alive than the tank was.

I may have ditched my first dungeon ever last night while leveling AST after having carried a 2k HP tank with some empty gear slots through AV (I rezzed him 4 times during the Coincounter fight alone) up to the final boss. He stood in the bad breath cone repeatedly and swung the boss about at random so that it was cleaving the crap out of everyone.

I wasn't nasty about it, but I finally had to inform them that this was not going to work.

Horror story.... kinda me, at one point. o_O Another being ghost AoEs.....

I'd become burnt out on WHM after spamming the roulettes and the 60 dungeons for tomes, to the point where I'm accidently taking unnecessary dps risks.... which I'm sure was scaring the tanks (via DF.... our two FC tanks trust me, thankfully, even if I make a momentary mistake) >.> even if I'm usually poised over the Tetra/bene - but they don't know that. They've no reason to trust a DF'ed healer. If I force myself to sit back on the DPS because of a near fall on trash I've been through a million times, I feel wrong anyway. z_z *can feel the 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' judging eyes....*. No tank has died, but I'm sure they panicked, too. ._.

Adding insult to injury - two or three times in one Fractal run at the last boss.... I was -out- of 'the Educator' cross AoE. I was standing right next to the party's BRD and I did NOT linger in the AoE... and yet somehow I got slapped and the BRD didn't.
I move further away from the panels, the next time it happens, and I got slapped with it -again-. I ended up dying to these ghost hit's defense debuffs and we wipe. So, it seems as though I'm the idiot for not getting out of AoEs while I'm... out of the AoE.
The tank mentions that I was standing too close to the panels during that.... which.... the first time it happened, yeah, I was standing next to it, but not -in- it. Second attempt and I still got slapped once but we luckily cleared it (I also moved all the way out into neverland to make sure I wasn't anywhere near the panels -_-). So, I looked like an idiot that can't dodge AoEs that take a year and a half to even go off. The BRD's "..." said much on their thoughts without a single word.
It was like being slapped by a ghost. I can understand if it were a fast acting AoE where a few seconds position lag can get you (like Titan's WoTL, etc), but 'The Educator' is a cross AoE that takes for ever to go off.... so I don't understand...

Ran it again a few runs later (also DF) and I saw the same thing happening to our BLM (or was it SMN?). He was on the opposite side of the 'cross' shape, from me, I saw he wasn't on the glowing panels and moved the same time as me. He got hit. And pretty much reacted, after that, the same way I had the time it happened to me (IE, 'the panels have the plague'...). I SSed him so he wouldn't suffer the same fate as I on that other run.

Ran again with FC later on and...... lo and behold, our tank and DRG were right up next to the panels with the boss on the glow, between them and..... they weren't hit even being right on the edge of the safe panels. So I don't believe it was a matter of how close you are....

Maybe I was position lagged on the server side, maybe it's a bug? Or some weirdass mechanic I don't know about and never saw again....
For an AoE called 'The Educator' I don't feel very educated on what happened -_-a

Not much of a horror story, but I'm getting tired of bad DPS.

As a Scholar my Single Target DPS is around 300, and multi-target is around 5-600. My highest was 800.

These numbers have consistently beaten one Bard, one Machinist, and even one Ninja. My rotation is awful, I often let DoTs fall off and have a bad habit of clipping Bio II. I often use Shadowflare last rather than first, etc.

Basically what I'm saying, is that my DPS is lower than it should be even as a healer, but I'm still outpacing people in Neverreap and Continuum.

The moment I stop being a healer, things go to hell!

So I decided to try out Machinist and it's fun so far. I run Brayflox Longstop to level up and we get this White Mage who seemed fine until the boss fights happen. In the first two fights, the tank dies and me and the other Machinist have to finish it off. We get to the final boss, we wipe several times due to the healer not using Esuna to remove the poison stacks and healing at the wrong times. Upon further inspection, the healer was ''grossly'' undergeared with level 15-20 gear for a ''level 32'' dungeon AND used accessories that boosted strength and dexterity.

I called for a vote kick and she was booted. Next healer did a far better job. Maybe I should be the one to heal from now on...

My healing horror story?

This one time, in Eorzea, I rolled an Astrologian.

LOL, I ran dungeons on my WHM to go from 55-60... This one WAR I ran into easily took more damage than any other tank out of dozens of runs.. I would have to spam Cure II to keep alive on a single pull, and I only had to do that on two separate runs..... He would try to grab multiple groups then complain when he died because I was OOM. He'd inspect my gear, make snide remarks.. it was grreeaattt

Not really a healing horror story for me but i felt bad for the poor healer i had... The tnk was always losing hate on trash no matter how long we waited for them to establish it. Everything went so-so till the last boss.. the Leviathan snake.. one.. idr the name.. >.> the one where u "can" get knocked off.. early in the fight the tnk wanted to explore the bottom ... next thing i know the boss is cuddling up to me.. luckily the healer was on top of things keeping us alive as hate bounced around.. i was finally able to summon titan... and after awhile titan was able to be the new tnk for us lol... I feel so srry for that poor healer but they did an amazing job keeping everyone alive and keeping titan topped off.

So while not a healing horror story for me.. im sure that healer was dieing alittle instead lol

One of the more memorable healing horror stories actually happened today.

I'm trying to level my Astrologian a bit because the job is incredibly fun, despite the weaknesses. I queued into Sohm Al like any other healer would, but the tank(a warrior) refused to use defiance, all while wearing severely weaker gear. Needless to say, every pull I would have to heal every body since aggro bounced back in forth every few seconds.The dps were getting kind of pissed off and the tank would just stand there in AoEs and die incredibly fast during the boss fights, to the point where the smn had to use titan egi for the rest of the dungeon after the first boss. Did i mention he died in almost every single pull despite me spamming benefic II on him only? It got to the point where the dps were easier to heal than a tank. Please tanks, keep up with our gear and warriors USE DEFIANCE!!! It makes healing so much easier.

Yesterday a tank chewed me out on and off through an entire dungeon because SCH should apparently never, under any circumstances, use Adloquium because it's a smaller heal than Physick and costs more MP. I tried to explain the shield mechanic but he'd have none of it and told me I needed to learn to read and learn to play SCH. He told me tanks would end up kicking me in higher level content if I used Adlo.

He said he played SCH for over a year....and yet he somehow failed to understand the bread-and-butter SCH heal.

(For the record, I do intelligently use Phy over Adlo if there's still health needed and the shield is still up, so I'm aware of when and how to use it. He was trying to convince me that a SCH should NEVER use it.)

I can not, for hte life of me, remember Alexander turn names -_- Fists, arms and..........????? *brain goes on vacation*
Anyway, had gone into Alexander turn 1. First time in, went super smooth, no wipes - one shotted. Alex turn 2 went okayish, just once we all migrated away from the bombs as a unit, it was fine. Alex turn 3 - my, and my FC mates first time in... DF'd tank wanted to solo tank it, regardless. Wiped a few times because insta-heals are on cool down, tank has a million stacks and we do still have a cast bar, mister tank x_x.
My poor mp... that whole fight was........ /stagger
but thats not the horror.

My horror, going back in a second time, is learning that I will never ever use Regen in Turn 1/Fists ever again (even if it makes me look stupid), even if it were fine the first time in - especially when DPS tunnel vision or can't pull ADDs off me to get one to the other laser (or heaven forbid I need to move a few 'in-range' steps to heal the nearby dying tank and pull an add they should have had by then out from under the laser).
Because regen.

Today was the day of the tissue paper tanks.

Soooo...

I'll start by mentioning the Trial roulette - Thok ast Thok on WHM, 6 newbies, only the other healer had played it. Takes 3 tries. Signs of things to come...

Second Trial Roulette on WHM - 2.55 Finale... oh right, I've only played this once. And only one of the tanks had played it in this one. Everyone was a level 50 except myself and that tank who were synced.

On AST on a roulette, Sunken Temple... Idiot tank starts in Sword Oath. THAT is a bad sign. Manage to barely heal through the first boss, having to revive the tank and one DPS. Second Boss, I throw a DoT near the end as the Tank again is taking a second dirt nap.

We get to the Third boss and by this point I'm like "there is no bloody way that tank is going to last a minute", Sure enough, all the adds are coming to me, DPS can't kill them fast enough so there's three on me by the time of a wipe. So I run back to the boss room just behind the Tank, and the dumbass pulls the boss without even waiting for the second DPS to catch up. I'll add that both the Tank AND one of the DPS are new. The DPS does fine, but the Tank just... oh gawd. I do a kick-offline without hesitation the second the tank decides he's going to disconnect instead of finishing. Wait about 5 minutes for a new tank. And it's done so much faster.


So I decided I had enough that round on AST and switch to BLM since they're sharing the same left-hand side gear and I've been running out of space so I want to get rid of the excess caster gear. Brayflox Longstop. Oh goody nobody ever sucks at this *sarc*

And again we have a tank that doesn't know what they're doing. And another new DPS. Tank runs off without waiting for protect *headdesk*, hits the sleep'd boss (I had a SCH, so I did the sleep cast) , but no wipe there. On the way to the second boss, and the tank pulls about 3-pulls of mobs so we wipe. Then we get to the second boss, not much of a problem. Then we get to the final boss... and the tank keeps leaving the boss in the poison ... *sigh* Suffice it to say the boss took 20% longer than it needed to.

So I again tick Roulette while on BLM, cause clearly I haven't had enough... Ifirit, and all three are are newbies. Only one wipe.



My patience today was worn pretty thin. Normally I'd just grin and bear it if one dungeon goes poorly, but when when easy content goes poorly it's frustrating. My guess is that since everyone is off trying the new Raid, all these poor newbies were being paired together and not getting very far with their tissue paper tanks.

But hey, at least I got tomes out of the level 60 roulette's. There is something peculiar about how the roulette is assigning players. When I did the first trial today via roulette (which was also Thok ast Thok) I got mostly players who had done it before. But the second time, I got mostly newbies. Am I wrong to assume that maybe these are pre-formed parties who just DF a healer space?

Granted, the rest of the story about the tank sounds not-so-perfect, but Temple of Quarn is a sub-40 level dungeon and Shield Oath is a level 40 skill, so yeah, no need to call him an idiot on that point.

Took a group 3 tries to beat first floor alexander boss. Not because of mechanics... but bad dps.

1st wipe at 1-2% each because none of our 3 bards wanted to use the line LB

2nd wipe: so far behind in damage

3rd attempt we down it, but i chewed a BRD out; she was the only one of the three bards that didn't use wanderer's minuet the entire fight. At all. I specifically watched her, and called her out on it every intermission in healing.

I was called a whiny bitch because healing bads who waste everyone's time isn't enjoyable.

My healer horror story.... well more like a DPS (SMN) are you even awake?

So I'm leveling my AST. I get Sunken Temple of Qarn. It's a PLD, MNK, SMN and myself (AST). Right away the MNK states that this is his third attempt at the dungeon. (warning sign goes off). I ask what he was having problems with.
MNK: Wrath and bee stings.
{ok...examine gear and class progression.. ah this is the first time you've done this dungeon.}
{while I'm at it I look at the others. The SMN is lvl 50 with nothing else, and the PLD I think was also level 50ish. I mentally congratulate them on not having my alt-itis.)
We start and sure enough the bee's don't die fast enough, but no one dies.
Something just seems off on the run but I can't quite figure out what it is.

My recolection of the first boss (Teratotaur) is a little fuzzy. The bees/wasps still are not dying fast enough and I think the MNK falls. I rez the MNK and then I think the PLD fell. I rez the PLD and I'm now almost out of mana. I go into conservation mode. I think I end up going down. I forget that a SMN could rez and so I release. {Side note by this time, I think I'd started noticing that the SMN was very 'focused'.} He very rarely ever switched to a new target until his current target was down. So he never was attacking the bees. I don't think he would have rezed me if I had given him the opportunity.
We proceed again at it and down it the 2nd try. The MNK again died twice but this time no one else did.

We get to the 2nd boss and by now I've given up on the card drawing mechanic of my job. I've decided that checking to make sure everyone is attacking the correct target is a higher priority.
The Temple guardian spawns. I cycle through everyone and notice that the SMN is on only one attacking the guardian and not the crystal/heart.
I ask in party (not calling out anyone specific) to please attack the crystal/heart. The SMN switches to the crystal/heart. It dies.
We all attack the guardian. The crystal respawns.
PLD switches to the crystal.
MNK switches to the crystal.
SMN is attacking the guardian.
{ I give is some time. 30sec) and check again. Still same situation.
Once again I ask in party "please attack the crystal/heart".
SMN switches to the crystal.
Crystal dies.
We all attack the guardian.
The Crystal respawns again.
Once again everyone but the SMN is attacking the Crystal.
I wait 30 sec. and only get "Cryst" out in party b/c I had to move out of an AOE. Luckily that was enough to get the SMN to switch.
We down the boss.

We proceed to the last boss. Get the weighted stones thing wrong so have to kill the three mobs before going into the room.
This fight was "creativity at it's highest".
The easiest way to describe it was to say we had the main boss (Adjudicator) of course. We usually had one or more of the (onxy things up). And we had myself running around the room as the stone faced block chased me while I'm frantically trying to keep everyone alive to from the room wide AOEs. We wipe twice.
After the 2nd wipe the MNK asks "should we try killing the stone blocks on the squares?" {I curse myself internally for not stating that and assuming people would figure it out.}
The SMN states "Yes kill them on the squares". At this point I'm kinda shocked. The SMN spoke, and actually seemed like they were paying attention.
The third attempt we do manage to kill the blocks on the squares, and manage to kill the boss.

So I know I made mistakes throughout the fight, but this is the first time I've actually noticed how much a DPS not killing things that need to be killed can cause so many issues. I also should have probably stated all the mechanics in a fight, but to be honest I didn't remember them all.

Kind of a story/request for advice.
I was doing my daily roulette in Tam Tara Deepcroft when we get a party put together with a tank who didn't seem to be all there. They would start off a fight with a flash and just auto attack from there on out, occasionally having long bouts of doing nothing at all during a fight, causing them to constantly lose aggro to myself and the DPS. By the time we reached the second group of trash mobs we'd already had a DPS leave and picked up a new mage (thaumaturge?). Some of the more experienced players tried giving the tank advice on how to use their abilities and combos but the tank didn't react/respond at all. I started marking targets for the DPS and using them and myself as pseudo tanks and just healing through the damage. We didn't wipe and only had one death (couldn't heal fast enough) on a boss so it could have been worse I suppose.

Now, I'm new to this game, this is only my fifth day playing and while it is a lot of fun this doesn't to seem terribly uncommon in lower end dungeons. I've had this scenario play out three times since and it's worrying, so I ask you:
Does this happen often higher end dungeons and if so, is it still possible to circumvent the tank and just heal through damage and get by with focused DPS on marked targets? Or would we be better served by dropping out and finding a new party?

If the tank is kinda on auto-pilot and not responding, not using many skills it is possible it was just a Bot.

Are they a continued problem in higher level dungeons or is there a common drop off point where they stop showing up? Currently hitting around level 30 dungeons and I haven't seen any today so I'm hoping I'm in the clear.

I havn't seen many doing later dungeons, I think they stick to lower dungeons cus it is kinda stupid proof in a way (and they still gain EXP), not many mechanics that involve the tank having to move around a lot. Honestly though, if the tank is not dodging AOEs, using buffs or cool-downs its either a seriously horrible new person, or a bot.

This reminds me of the BLM I had last night while doing Sohm Al. I was the AST. First of all, he'd go ahead and pull mobs before the tank was even ready. After 2 warnings from the tank, he finally stopped. He would oooonly focus on one mob and ignore the adds until his main target was down, even if it wasn't the tank's target at that moment. I wanted to bang my head against the wall because I had to do more healing than necessary due to him him taking hate from the mob that he wasn't supposed to target first. For this reason I never buffed him with cards and buffed the MNK instead. That BLM acted like a hyper kid. This kind of DPSs are the ones that make my heart rate go up when I'm on healer.

Since I've been WHM since 2.0, I feel more confident on WHM so it's not that bad. However, I've only been an AST for say, 5 days lol so I'm not 100% confident on the job yet and on top of that I get DPSs like that BLM...however I managed fine and got 2 commends in return. So yay? lol

Did neverreap last night.. First time and I'm barely meeting ilvl. Tank waited for buffs, then proceeded to pull two groups (nin and mch for dps). I had to heal constantly, so no dpsing.. Was taking forever to kill mobs, burned 6 lustrates, then finally tank died and we wiped. Mch went "?" and I asked the tank to please pull less. On the next pull, mch was doing NOTHING.. Not even auto attacks.. Then once 2 mobs have died, this appeared:

"I think 4 mobs should be easy but the healer can't heal it."

Oh yeah, blame me for your slow as crap dps and the tank's paper armor?? Tank and mch were also at bare minimum ilvl for the dungeon. The final boss felt like it took ages.. I threw dots when I could, but man, I refused to enter another dungeon for the rest of the night..

This happen to me not so long ago.....I deiced to run Astrologian in Sastasha ez mode. Thinking "nothing could possibly go wrong". Yeah. Two really new dps and one so-so new Tank in my party. No problem, this should be quick and painless! Right out the gate no one was attacking the same target. DPS ran a head and tank was left scrambling around to get things in order. After while the tank just afk. I did say we have to wait for the tank...but nope. Tank had enough and I kept going hoping the tank would come back. So after the first two mini boss I deiced to call out to my fc for help and replace the tank and end his/her bad party experience, but nope. DPS did not wait and died...twice. I wish I could of stayed but I'm not that good not matter what and I hope those two DPS the best of luck.

The DPS and Tanks I've encountered since I started leveling my AST in lower level dungeons have really made me sad.

I took my buddy into Cutter's Cry 3 times w/ me today because I needed a DPS who was worth using the cards on.

It scares me that there are so many lv50+ players who are THAT BAD.

Also, so weigh in on the DRK business... I've yet to encounter one that could hold AoE aggro, which is shocking given their toolkit.

I ran Neverreap tonight for the first time. I waited until I had enough tomes for my Law weapon to even attempt it because I knew I was going to get a tank that pulled way too much...and with my luck stay in their dps stance the whole time lol. I mentioned it was my first time, and I think the tank was planning on going slow until the MCH told them to pull more. Ugh, everything died SO SLOW.

We get to the area with the bees, the tank pulls one set of bees and a tree, but parks them too close to the other bees and aggros them. The tank got Final Sting twice in a row, I hit benediction (it decided not to work, of course lol) and they took another. We wipe, but luckily the dps was able to finish off the bees before they died. After we rez the dps says, "Yea, 4 bees is rough" and the tank say, "Its np, I can easily stun them, but they resisted for some reason" Which was my fault because I used Holy, but I only used it twice because I thought they resisted after the 3rd one. Even if they did stun one, it would have been a reeeeally close call and I think we would have wiped anyway. I apologize and the rest of the run is smooth but things still take forever to die, the tank was nice. That's not my horror story though, just a minor annoyance.

Right before maint. tonight I tried to run my High Level Roulette, got Keeper of the Lake with a new BLM. The tank is in Dreadwyrm gear and says "I suck". I knew right away what he was going to do, but I gave him a chance. He ran in, grabbed mobs, let everyone else get hate and stand there letting us die. We killed the crabs but he ran off, grabbed another pack, and same thing except this time when he lost hate, he'd go grab another pack while we were dying and brought them back to the entrance. I kicked him as soon as I could, but everyone else left after. Then he queued back in. I told the two new dps to leave because the tank is a troll, then left, super mad I lost out on my tomes and that the new guy had to deal with him. I reported him. I really hope the GMs do something about it!

The moment when a Tank pulls 3 groups of mobs in The Aery and you see his HP dropped 80% in less than a second even with all cds. I think I died a little inside...

i think that any healer will tell you that they have mini heart attacks every time they see there target losing HP faster than they can heal them...

Honestly, I saw so many things about DRK (ok they might have less defense than the others) but it's not that hard to heal them... just knowing fights mechanic with tank buster is enough.

Who I have problem with is the WAR...
PLD got so many CD and have to be play with so many vitality now that it is a blessing to heal them.

But WAR... now that they got a DPS stance... they're a bunch of idiots...

I got at least 2 WAR that yell at me because I kept asking for Defiance when they were tanking with Deliverance...
Their arguments were : "I can do more damage than this 2 DPS"

Hell yes you're hitting hard... but you're also losing too much HP...
Needless to say that they got kicked out really fast...

This thread makes me happy.

I feel proud to be part of the Healing community, and I get a good sense of solidarity in our woes when I read this.

I had a tank that was using a DPS parser the other day that was doing exactly that in Neverreap. I had to use Tetra and Benediction consecutively to save his ass.

That same day I also had another Neverreap that had two BLM's for DPS. Oh gawd what a nightmare at the end boss because everyone kept being flinged around by the whirlwinds.

"Speed running" has a lot of cargo cult nonsense attached to it. The majority of people I've run into rarely understand when or why it's appropriate to grab multiple packs, or what a safe upper limit is. I had someone trying to speed run Tam-Tara Deepcroft normal tonight; at that level, there's a distinct lack of strong AoE, and the two defensive cooldowns the tank had meant that I ended up having to repeatedly toggle out of Cleric Stance to keep them alive. It's slower than simply taking each pack one at a time.

I'm surprised the healer from my library run this morning didn't post yet. It was my first time. We're on the Demon book. For whatever reason, the purple telegraphs all appear to be aiming for the middle, rather than the sides. So I ended up eating nearly every one of those. I handled the other mechanics of the boss, and the rest of the dungeon just fine, but that poor AST had to work extra hard in the dungeon because of me. Luckily we all had a good sense of humor about it, and it just sort of became a running joke/gentle ribbing.

In 8 mans, tanks treat each other as partners. Healers treat each other as partners. Part of the job is to look after the well-being of our tanking partner/healing partner, weather it be an implied tank swap mechanic via armor crush, splash damage, etc, or your fellow WHM overworking their MP when you have plenty to spare.

DD... have way too many in their number with something to prove, and looking out for your fellow groupmate isn't part of the job description most of the time.

There's just a special sense of solidarity in this thread, because it's all bullshit that's out of our hands, but we're going to have to deal with situations like this sooner or later because it is part of our jobs. The most common sort of story is the healer being auto-blamed for the tank's HP hitting 0.


While I'm here... was healing alexander floor 3. It's w/e. Tornado phase comes around. I mark the tanks. BLM gets tethered by the boss for the one shot. Tank is running over, and shimmying, trying to catch the tether. BLM continues to stand still casting fire. Tether not coming off. Every extra second that BLM spent casting fire instead of trying her part in getting the tether off, I swear my vision magnified on her. Gets one shot. Says something to the effect of 'really, tank?'. Sad part is, the tank apologized. Told the BLM 'you could have taken two steps to the left, or something'. BLM tells me to take two steps back. I'm the one that spent 1/6th of my MP peeling your stupid face off the floor because you expect someone to do all the work for you, and you want to talk shit to me? Really?! I watched you stand there as the tank tried to save you, and you're ready to blame him?!

Another story of stupid DD: was trying to get my great king moogle mog - my his reign end with minimal bloodshed - extreme kill before servers went down for heavensward mait. Numerous wipes, typically to pomburner's flare, fluffyfoot's or w/e his name is holy not being stopped, or the archer's mograin hitting for 8k+ (and you know how this typically targets the one healer not being pulled into the poison pool right before we have to dispel). Every wipe, I stated what killed us, and I intentionally use the pronoun 'we' to not single people out. DRG gets mad at me for doing that. Told them I'll stop talking about it when we stop making mistakes. Ques insults. I ask why she was getting offended when I had yet to specify any one person in the group by name. DRG dies to moogle delta attack next attempt. Ressed her. Said 'you're welcome'.

Thank you! Not exactly a horror story, but I remember running fractal the other day. Before we started, the tank at least looked at me, and asked me how much I can handle. I told him, I'm a SCH, I can handle alot, but our DD is a DRG, and a NIN who have AOE barely comparable (if at all) to mine, and if you're taking damage from everything-and-their-mother, I won't be able to help group damage at all out of the need to baby sit you with heals. He got the message clearly, and we moved through the place one group at a time at a brisk pace, thanks in part to my SCH damage.

The pattern is fixed. The moment I saw it the first time, I said 'demon wall'. Have yet to get hit by those lines at all, because doing that in 2.0 for darklight gear trains you like you wouldn't believe.

After the fight, I was left wondering 'where's the bees?'

Well the effect on the floor is pretty faint, where as the effect on the original Demon Wall was pretty dark.

But the pattern is easy to deal with (I had to tank it as a healer because the tank kept dying, the first time I did it.) You do chess "knight moves", eg L shaped. Which ever direction you move to avoid the floor, you then immediately move up or down to then avoid the targeted AOE's. The rest is cake.

My worst was solo healing my first Mog ex. Sch died 4 times in the first 2 minutes. I said, screw him, and ran around like a mad man doing all the healing and esunaing myself, while he took a dirt nap. After a few years were shaved off my life and a healer lb3 save...we killed it

Most runs in Alexander floor 4. >_>; Especially the ones that wipe us, every time, at just the first set of adds because the DPS don't want to pick them up/separate the adds ...as they chew on the healers faces and then blow us all up, while the OT is in Quarantine....
Also, the runs where everyone runs away from the balls like they're level 1s in a high dungeon... instead of someone taking one like a man while at full HP.... alternatively, the DPS that run through multiple balls without waiting half a second for my heal to land >.>;
