[Pole] Do you want to see the summoner class reworked?

How is an Arcanist/Summoner evolved from a Time Mage? Have you played any other Final Fantasy games? You seem to reference them a lot, but very rarely accurately, to validate your ideas.

Shadow Flare - Slow. Tri Disaster - Bind. Ruin II - Blind. Miasma I & II - Disease which is different from the normal FF Disease and FF14's Virus.

There are three other slow abilities in the game;

Dragoon- Fient
Monk- Haymaker
Black Mage - Lathargy

Are they all derived from time mages?

Immobilize =/= Stop

Slow =/= Heavy


FF12 Has a good break down of what school each magic belongs to but each FF is different and there are a lot of over laps.

And that's alongside the pet doing more damage than the Summoner. Balanced!

In Final Fantasy Tactics the Arcanist and Time Mage overlap in terms of skills and abilities since Arcanist is attuned to Dark and Gravity. Arcanist has no affinity for Bio, Miasma and Virus so Square should just give those spells back to Black Mage and optimize the Final Fantasy Arcanist for mmorpg's. Besides a lot of the Arcanist abilities got moved to the Time Mage so essentially the Arcanist and Time Maall should have the same abilities.

Shadow Flare is the Dark version of Black Mage's Flare so they should function the same.

except not. maybe in FFT (I haven't played that long enough to get either classes), but I can tell you in FF1-14 (not counting 11 because I didn't play that either), Time mages were very different from the way ACN has been created in FFXIV. Also, the Time mage pinnacle spell was meteor, and it did not operate like flare in the least, and from what I read, it works the same in tactics as it does in FFV.

In all other Final Fantasy games Shadow Flare is a monster ability or an item ability that does not work at all like Flare (excepting FF3 when it is a terrain ability and has a 2% chance of being used, but then it was more powerful than flare), and the arcanist from Tactics A2 used lvl. X magic, drain, gravity, and syphon. For what its worth, energy drain takes that Drain and Syphon ability and combines it into 1, and i'm thankful they didn't put death/gravity in there because those spells tend to be nearly worthless.

your points aren't based on any game lore, just desire to do what you want the summoner to do. I will be so much happier if you will just admit that
