I'm pretty sure people are aware that it will NOT help everybody, at least I PERSONALLY am NOT talking in ABSOLUTES. So no, i'm not expecting that everything i say is absolute, in the right and everybody will benefit from it.

What i was trying to do was figure out how fast (3/4 times per second) you HAVE to actually mash, how people saying lightspeedtyping hurts helps in any way and to try to get maybe more compiled options for people that struggle.

WHich, i MENTION again does NOT mean that i'm defending the QTE itself. That is not what i mean. I find the wipe cool but i can find it cool while also not saying it needs to stay.

I don't want people with problems to be hated and flamed, either.

And yes, me mentioning my problems means in a way "i understand having problems". I get it. I do not understand how HARD the problems must be to fail this, for ME, easy QTE and thats why i was asking to begin with.

And Burado, i take that answer over "well i'll answer if..."

And it is appreciated, absolutely. I appreciate that you shared your own issues. They were very relatable, at least to me. I do hope I managed to explain why I keep failing the QTE, since my problems are similar to yours. I appreciate that you are trying to get the facts about the QTE to help you understand what problems people are running into.

Things get very heated in this thread and I'd rather they didn't.

Intended to edit my other post but i'll make a new one with a few points. I won't go so far as qouting every thing (I'm bad at that so forgive me) but i do NOT just pull that out of nowhere.

1. I'm not wrong with saying that people helping and sharing get the "but it won't help everybody" treatment. Which they never said it would.
There was somebdoy with problems sharing what they did etc. One of the reactions was indeed telling them "good on you, but..."
Somebody else just mentioned "i did this wish my controller so if you have one, you could try" and the reaction they got "don't tell people to buy controller!". Which they didn't.
I HAD to react to it because somehow it was just read completely wrong. Some people with handproblems could play on controller, who is to know that?

I did fly over the thread and while i will not say you people responding to me did it, but some people clearly did and those are who i meant.

2. I think sticking to actually trying to figure out some solutions till they may adjust it (because it doesn't NEED to be gone IF it gets adjusted in a good way) is better than telling people that mashing fast hurts. It's just abit... hard to explain, but it feels wrong to say that in a thread that went to people with hand problems that get hurt by clicking 4ish times a second. Of course they can't extreme mash. Sorry to be kind of stuck on that, it's just... yeah of course it probably kinda hurts, but it only makes people more afraid by thinking they HAVE to go that far and kill their hands.

3. I'm not offended. Takes more than that. Like i said, i really didn't come here to argue and if i seem rude or harsh, not my intentions. I'm pretty blunt and don't like talking around bushes. I asked questions for the reason of understanding how slow you can be and stuff.
I just, like i said before, i can sometimes try to hard and i REALLY dislike if somebody takes what i said and read it clearly wrong. I even pointed out to how i don't defend the QTE and don't care if they change stuff and then get asked why i defend it.
Do have a little of a temper though.

4. Please don't think i want to talk down to you and point finger at you if i reacted to a qoute from you. It was more the general context of what was said (like the fast piano sanicspeed typing hurting) and not trying to make you a bad person or anything.
It just doesn't help if people argue for the sake of arguing and then people that legit just want to help are looked at like they're trolling. Some people here do, its obvious they just argue to annoy people and get them fired up. Sucks.

5. I get the problem, understanding it completely is one thing. But i have my own problems and one specific mechanic i literally CANNOT comprehend and i would absolutely die if it was an oneshot. Finding things cool doesn't mean it has to be as it is so yeah, not what i said.

Yencat, i know what you mean, that's why my "i try too hard sometimes without noticing". I saw it. And i have more problems that make you question how i can even function too but it's quite funny most of the time at least in my case.

Like i'm totally fine with trying some of the options but i actually don't know if my trying would help because maybe i can rotate my palm faster than others or whatever.

I really don't know if i missed something adressed to me but misunderstandings happened and please know that i see that you didn't try to be "mean" to me just as i didn't try to be "mean" to you.
I just ask direct questions because, as mentioned, talking around bushes is not a thing i like to do. May just seem high and mighty or whatever but it really isn't (I'm actually pretty stupid).

So let's just say that some GOOD, while not FOR EVERYBODY!!!! Options are:
Rolling palms on keyboard, it SHOULD register keys being pressed

Same with maybe Elbow. I don't think this one is too out of the window ideawise.

IF a controller exist, using the dpad or the buttons with your thumb in a circle motion. I can mash better on Controllers than on keyboard because the motions are different and sliding your thumb over buttons is how i play games which is easier for ME!

I do think one of the problems is the way you have to press down on a Keyboard. I usually use 2 buttons because even if i say "you can just type" i'm more comfortable with using 2 buttons one after another in the rythm of the clock.
Maybe there is a way to make it easier but i wouldn't know. A friend says she uses 1 key and her mouse.
If clicking mouse is easier for you, it might be an option, too.




Sorry for this long post and let's just say that i was the stupid one here because i can take it and to help people that struggle, i know it's hard... maybe ignoring obvious troll helps more to not let this thread end up in endless debates. Ye, internet and stuff but hey, i can admit that i don't have problems with the QTE still, it doesn't help if it's just arguing. Hard in this forum but sometimes, just ignoring is better to help the cause.

I believe that you did not look for quarrels and did not want to offend anyone. I understand your position, it has rational grain.
But some of the suggestions that were made here were offensive to the disabled, for example, a proposal to play with a nose. These advice came from healthy people. I repeat, someone found a solution for himself. It is good that there are players who can adapt. However, QTE in the new court is useless for some people and painful for others. And this fact cannot be denied. I don't think it should be like that.

Turn keyboard upside down and smash, you'll pass first time every time. Problem solved.

Newbie tanks do this already with their cool downs, gotta learn from the best.

The thing is, the game can't make the QTE interesting because it caters to both controller players AND keyboard and mouse. So QTE that normally would be based off of rhythm and have different button presses, can't exist because the game would have to detect two different kinds of inputs at the same exact time, and the devs would have to design them with two methods of input. that's why the "Spam any button to pass" exists.

The thing with the thing is, after a certain degree of watering down a video game mechanic in order to incorporate it into your game (especially a mechanic that isn't particularly loved among gamers to begin with), the question has to be asked about why you're bothering to shoehorn it into your game that hard to begin with, and whether it is a case of including QTE solely because "all the other games lately are doing it"

QTE is a cheap mechanic in many aspects. Literally every other choice would've been better for SoS mechanicwise (not even touching on the spectacle aspect here, wrote enough about that already). But that implies SE have the resourses to implement something different. I'd like to believe team have enough creativity, but given the current situation I'm not surprised they went for the low effort path. Not like that makes the descision itself better or anything.
