The same kind of logic that you're using to jump from one example to another. Paying for your subs does not guaranteed housing, but it guarantees housing for people who may not even use it? In a 45 day period, when a typical sub covers 30 days? Your sub isn't any more important than mine or revolver bobcat's, but you still want to hold onto something that you may not use and is in limited quantity.

You'd need some sort of reclamation from people who truly don't play the game anymore, espesically if housing in itself is a limited resource (which is definitely the case). No matter how much housing you'd slam into the game, you'll still eventually run out of space and ultimately the number of players who don't even log in (but still have a house) will pile up as occupied space.

Not 100%, no, but for heaven's sake, give them enough of a budget to make the game functional. In too many areas (including this one) it's a disgraceful couple of decades behind the rest of the industry.

Last time I checked reclamation is for players who are un-active, quit the game. Gone.
So salty, these responses. I merely asked why I must also be required to enter my house. I'm sure I would, but I do think it's pretty silly.

Unfortunately there's really no need: as long as enough people still sub and play, they don't see it a reason to do any drastic change: they make enough money with the least of effort whatsoever, which is the basic of commerce.
They MIGHT do something when the threshold gets lower but even then I doubt anything will change.

I hate to tell you this but SquareEnix is a business first and foremost. If you can't pay they aren't going to cater to you regardless of the reason behind it. You can't walk into a store and demand goods without having any money. It's the same thing. It may seem harsh but unfortunately that's just the way it goes, especially for limited content in very high demand. They have to give it to their paying customers because that's where the money is. Customers who aren't paying unfortunately aren't on their priority list.

That's not true at all, you are contradicting yourself pretty hard. What you said was this: "But why not cut the number of wards down, so people who don't care for the look and just want a house can get one."
You suggested to get rid of some wards to allow individual instanced housing. It's completly different from just "adding" instanced housing. You just want to shift the current neighborhood wards to instanced housing in the hypothesis that this won't take as much ressources so more people could get a personnal house.
It would be even harder for people to get a house in a ward, but in exchange they'd have access to a crappy individual instanced house. Hurray. Except that the ressources you would magically "save" from deleting current wards (and completly screw everyone on these wards, btw) would still be limited. It's completly possible that not eveyone would be able to get a house even then.

Besides, what you are suggesting was already debated the day individual housing was introduced. You are not bringing anything new here.
