I got a Ultimate game card from Walmart it works good luck every one.
Walmart canceled the transaction for 2 (web/email version) $20 ultimate cards for my fiancee, and she also emailed ultimatepay to see if they could do this manually... with no response, of course. She also tried using Paypal.
We're running out of options here, and I will NOT wait 2 weeks to 2 months for her account to be "unlocked". That's unreasonable and just plain ridiculous. I either want MY money back for my unused time, or I want my fiancee to get to play the game with me like we intended all along.
I also shouted in Ul'dah to let other players know (who got 30+ free days) to avoid using one card on two accounts so some people can try to avoid this issue.

The only possible solution I know of right now, is if SE could transfer the existing service account FFXIV to another SQEX ID, one that is known to work.
The main source of this problem is the "Region or Country" your SQEX ID is set to.

Chiming in to say I also have error 601. Is it legacy players only affected right now? Is that because everyone else is still on their free time?
SE were given a second chance with FFXIV and they are just pissing it away.

I'm just curious - those who got around this issue with Ultimate Game Card, after you renew your subscription via this method, are you then able to change your payment methodology back to your credit card, or are you tied into using UGC for future renewals?
i had to get the ultimate game card for 20
then tried to input the code myself and guess what? the code did not worked
isn't that awesome? not even a prepaid card work
seriously SE have problems and big problems
so i had to call the ultimate game card support
Thx god they have a phone number and they did answer in less than 1 MIN!!
those people do a great job with customer support, SE need to lean from them
Anyway they had to input the code themselves in my account for it to work and now i have 2000 crysta for 1 month of use
that was my only option after weeks of trying

My question is, those of you that have these problems, have you payed for anything using your credit card in the past for square? Such as FFXIV 1.0 and FFXI?
Correct me if you've already done it, but have you gone to the old square enix account management site https://secure.square-enix.com/accou...n?cont=account and tried to remove the credit card or update the information of your credit card here AND THEN trying to wait and try again at the mogstation? I have a feeling it might have saved some wrong info or kept it there thinking that you already have a credit card to it and giving you weird errors. Some people have had success with this on reddit and I think I saw a post about it here. So the process is:
1. Log in to https://secure.square-enix.com/accou...n?cont=account
2. Go to Regist/Update Payment Information Tab and either remove CC or Update CC there
2. Try purchasing at Mogstation
3. If you continue having errors, try waiting 24-48 hours and try again.
Again, some people has had luck with this.
I am myself a 1.0 non-legacy and have no issues subscribing. I didn't subscribe to 1.0 and only bought the game so there was no credit card registered on the old square website. I hope you guys get it worked out.

Day 7, still not being able to pay
I let it sit for 3 days then did this. I got past the globalconnect checking to the point where I had to confirm the amount and now I'm getting 401 instead of 601. No idea if it's related to removing the card from the old billing site or whether the card block lapsed naturally and simply a coincidence.
Come on SE at least tell us you are looking into this instead of just a wall of silence or throwing it back on our banks.
Exactly as you say, Zeke. First day I couldn't get past the 601 error on the selection screen, then after too many attempts, I got a 401 there, so I had to contact my CC company to unblock it. Waited the 24 hours, and no errors until the final confirmation page, and then, bang, 401 error, which is bullshit because my bank says it's unblocked and they even see the $1 test charge hit.
And for all you folks that think this is only related to a small number of peeps with country discrepancies... while that may be a problem, I bought the original game in 2010 in the U.S., only play in the U.S., same computer, same credit card I used in 2010 and that I used for years with FFXI, I even temporarily disabled the protection mode IE10, as some here have suggested, and I have this very problem. BTW, for those that do not remember, there were similar horror stories with ClickandBuy, when this game first came out, and when SE allowed direct CC charge, I couldn't punch the keys fast enough to ditch them too.
Bottom line, GlobalCollect has major issues here that they need to address, and address soon. Additionally, after 20 pages of complaints, one would think SE would at least recognize this problem and acknowledge this to their loyal customer base that they are looking at this, and it will be fixed asap. Lastly, SE needs to fix their so-called customer service, which is the biggest and cruelest joke in the world. Over 9 years of dealing with canned GM responses that do not address customer issues, hours of waiting in que for chat or phone, only to be cut off or disconnected, or no help if you are lucky enough to get thru... Your customers deserve better than this, and it needs to be fixed.
Edit Note: I tried this again this morning, removing my credit card info first, then re-establishing at the subscription process, and still the same results.
I will say , in about 15 days if this is not fixed , then it will be getting ugly fast , when all the new players free trials start to run out. That when, they, everyone will start reddit , contact websites, ask for refunds , call sony up. and more to put the pressure on them. Start to find any phone number or customer service that works for square. I think they will get this fixed buy then. Fingers cross. People will just not pay so they will lose the money and once they post the share holders phone numbers. We just use the power of the consumer. , but they design there game for only 100k people pay a month. So the error is working. Not for a million to pay a month.

My 1.0 account was originally setup on a Japanese street address with an Australian credit card without a problem. I've since tried credit cards from both countries so I don't accept the cop out that country mismatch is the problem.
Mog station has been down for maintenance twice today for short periods so hopefully they are investigating.:confused:
I like how yall still took 30 dollars from my bank with the error. Luckily you guys are giving it back. I just had a talk with my bank, the lady said "the problem is on the merchants side." SE i love your game i just wanna play when my time is up.

I know its not your fault, but we really require some solution from Square Enix. I really want to play this game, I've been a fan even at 1.0, read all Letters from the Producer, watched all live ones, follow every single update on the FFXIV Blog, participated in Beta 1, 2, 3, 4 and Early Access. Never even once, doubted of SE, I don't think you guys can find a single negative post from me, on the contrary, I was called whiteknight several times.
Now I just want back some of the support I've given. I can't buy Crysta or use a Game Card as others have suggested since I'm from Southamerica. The ONLY option I have available is Credit Card Payment. I've entered 5 different credit cards (3 mine, 1 of my dad and 1 of my brother), waited 3 days, called SE support... honestly I don't know what else I can do.
I'm starting to think I'll never be able to play this game :(. Please SE help us.
I am having this problem as well, been almost a week since I could play. Tried 4 different cards visa/mastercard/AA/discover, paypal through my bank account and all, including my $100 ultimategamecard (?!?!?), got DECLINED. What do I do? Can I mail it to you or something?
Just wanted to add a word about this issue specifically.
Financial institutions like banks are more then likely using security measures and practices that greatly surpass your own SquareEnix.
What your effectively saying when your asking us to green light refused transactions is basically leaving a door open for operations that should normally raise a red flag.
What should be happening in regards to this?
YOU should be contacting all relevant financial institutions to make sure YOUR methods of transacting comply with the greatest amount of financial institutions.
If you add such things as computer location matching payment address or forcing a single card for each account:
- inform us of this prior to registering our information.
- give us a means to register multiple or new locations for access or payment.
- DO NOT limit refusal to simple error messages that we have to spend weeks trying to figure out the specifics.
- delegate customer support to a group that can be more flexible to allocate resources to meet demands if you cannot offer the service adequately.
So far all your network infrastructure/connection/account issues shouldn't of derailed this bad if you had spent as much time preparing and providing resources above estimates for the first few months of online service instead of simply marketing and producing the game as if it was just a mater of getting it onto shelves.

I've still been unable to play for about a week now. I've submitted 3 support tickets about a week ago, was told I would receive a reply within 48 hours, but nopes received no reply. I've tried 4 different credit cards from 4 different financial institutions all at different times but none work. I can't pay with Crysta because it is not available in my country, hence I can't do the Ultimate Playcard work around others have been doing.
I just want to play SE, please let me play your game.
I wouldn't hold your breathe nothing short of going out of business or the masses of far more from 2.0 will get these people at SE to do a darn thing for us.
I mean refusing to take money that help keep you in business blows my mind yet here we are still unable to play and 60+ pages aka 3-4 forum topics later, we just get a copy and paste responses and nothing that they care nor are looking into the matter because they are still convince we or our banks are the heart of the issues not their beloved mog station.
Just want to share with those who have access to pay with UltimatePay and still getting those failed messages...
Initially, they rejected my payment as well (I took the 180 days sub). I called them (877-703-6339) to ask why are they rejecting. It turns out this is my first transaction with them and so, they won't allow any "big" transaction. The customer rep also mentioned that once I have a few transactions with them, this payment limit will be taken off.
Now I took the entry sub with 30 days for 12.99$, tried again with UltimatePay, and the payment went through. I know some people won't have the add crysta option.... but hope my experience can help a few people here.

I had same problem with my VISA Electron Card. I was getting 601 all the time, contacted SE Support and what they told me " After checking your details it appears that you were entering your card details incorrectly " I was like O.o wtf. So I thought well hey maybe they are right so, I checked again logged into Mogstation, typed everything on paper and then retyped it on GlobalCollect form guess what ERROR 601.
So then I was thinking I will try to register my card on PayPal ( thinking it will give me error saying that it is already registered ) to check if I'm really this dumb by putting wrong info on GlobalCollect form. Guess what ( remember I have VISA Electron ) there is no VISA Electron option on PayPal only VISA so I was like how the hell did I registered that, I probably had to choose VISA as only option.
That made me thinking, so I went to Mogstation and I choosed VISA option instead of VISA Electron and damn it went without ANY PROBLEM O.o
Maybe this will help other ppl with VISA Electron
Day 7 for me, zero chat response support, zero e-mail response support, zero forum further acknowledgement. Can such an issue be for real? This is so ridiculous coming from a suppose to be respectable company called Square Enix. Absolute rubbish service and worse is that some if not most players are very keen on getting this issue resolved because WE WANT TO play badly!

After noticing that SE has been taking $1.00 every time I get Error 401/601....it just made me more depressed... I am using exactly the same card I used in 1.0, so how can I be having so much trouble PAYING you!? I have tried 4 different cards with a variety of banks..do I need to fly to Japan and throw my money at you guys??!!
