Just did Castrum, second boss and this BLM is telling everyone how to speed run it. I'm cool with speed running it, fast ATP, etc, but he says to me and this SCH that we "need to kite the trash". Firstly, it's ranged trash, secondly, that leaves me with Regen as my sole heal and thirdly, DPS should be serving and protecting their heals, not ordering them to run around like headless chickens. /mad

Maybe some groups do it this way. I've never seen it done that way. OT grabs trash and pulls it away from heals. Heals uses Shroud to help OT hold aggro. Pretty straight forward.

Starting to think we need to form a Healers Union and make sure people know how to treat us or feel our wrath.

To be fair, I'm sure your legs are very appealing.

So far my worst time was Ifrit story mode. We wiped about 10 times I'd say cause nobody realized you had to kill the nail. Hate that nail.

Solo healing Ifrit Hardmode because the Scholar can't do anything right and isn't accepting my Raise. No one else dies, and finish the fight with 1500 MP. The entire fight though, I'm being called bad for the Scholar not accepting my raise, and keeping everyone topped off almost the entire fight alone to re-raise once the Raise buff wore off and I didn't have Swiftcast to re-raise, then got told that I was using too much MP because I was below 2500 the entire fight, completely ignoring that they stood and ate a Double Ifrit dash and didn't even try to rejoin the fight... I hate people.

Mine tend to be when 2 party members just disappears out of nowhere. I use a DPS so it falls on me(or so my common sense tells me) that i have to use Topaz to tank,while keeping him on the right path, then do my DPS thing, followed by healing and raising. Not a fun time but it keeps happening. And it's usually a tank who leaves followed by whoever the next coward is(cause one usually gets scared). Bad juju. But i feel awesome when me and the other person finish's it.

The worst is when you get a WHM that constantly dies, forces you to solo heal most of the battle, and then beats you on the roll for Ifrit's Cane. Happened twice now :D

I was with a tank who was clearly new to tanking and was doing a very poor job of keeping aggro from mobs so I advised to him that he should taunt the enemies more often to keep aggro. However he clearly misunderstood what I ment by 'taunt' in proceeded to /taunt every mob we came across...

Sorry, unfortunately I can not post my Healing Horror Story, as I have not been healed and have wiped to many times :)

OK, today I was doing Haukke Mansion and I had Eos out me and the whole team was doing well then... Eos stopped cast embrace I then couldn't keep up with healing everyone so two people died... She started to cast embrace after the fight. So... Not a big thing, but I was getting worried lol.

I think we're starting to run into our first round of bought accounts... already, my pocket tank and I decided to to Sunken Temple for fun, he went on bard, and I went Scholar to learn how it heals compared to my WHM.

We enter and Warrior says he's new. He's in full Darklight... Doesn't know any of the fights, so we run them down for him, now it's an optional dungeon so I could see maybe not knowing the fights, but on all trash, Eos and I are pulling threat on mobs, if I had been on my WHM I'm sure I would have had all of them on me, but how is it a Warrior(in darklight) couldn't hold aoe hate from me? (I make extensive use of Stoneskin and due to WHM experience I'm very attentive to my aggro) He also NEVER went after mobs that left him.

Last boss, we kept telling him to just stand in the middle and ignore the adds, over and over, but he kept going after the adds, so that the dps couldn't pull them to the squares(thankfully kinda, when they revived my heal aggro got them over to squares for the dps to kill). He eventually said "I got this I'm 50" ... I'm thinking he may not of even realized he was level synced... but wow, we've run into a couple of other people that don't understand core concepts of the game that you would have learned even if you just fate ground to 50 and then sped run AK for tomes(when that was doable).

I'm running a SCH so certain things are hard to do. Demon Wall is one of them. I don't have great aoe heals and boss hits people randomly so I have to pay attention and use Lustrate a lot on the add phase, but its definitely doable (I've run it many times with FC).

So the other day I get in a group that just can't stay out of anything. The tank doesn't pull the adds that survive LB and the lancer wouldn't move out of any of the red bits. Needless to say we wiped.... many, many times. Now a couple of the times were my fault (camera angle changes suddenly and off the edge I go -_-) but when I run out of mana spamming heals on a single dps then get focused by adds, something else is wrong.

So no advice or anything, just insult after insult. The only group I've ever ragequit.

What I mean is running low on mana, and having to use 4 out of 6 Lustrates on one DPS on the add phase. Plus WHMs have medica for AOE heals. Even if I use Succor before repels and aoes hit, I still have to single target heal a lot. Plus fairy doesn't follow close enough to stay out of line aoes. If you have any advice I'd be happy to hear it. :)

Just because it was short doesn't mean anything usually Scholars are good in short fights, but if the other team mates are playing up, it can be a bit... Hard to keep the mana. So in short most of the time we can, but on occasion we can't.

I know them feels, happened to me twice as well, and ended up getting my Cane the third time it dropped by rolling a 3 and them rolling a 1. I chuckled 'cause they're one of the few healers I noticed pulling their weight, most people seem to have gotten tired of running Ifrit and have given up on trying.

I knew my good luck was too good to last.

I finally unlocked Haukke Manor so I hit up DF to run it. Tank cannot seem to hold aggro - on one trash mob I healed him ONCE and pulled aggro. We wiped so many times on trash mobs because the tank would flash, then focus on one mob and not do anything when the others would go after the DPS or myself.

Not to mention the DPS who thought that they could initiate fights and be fine because they were ACN. . .

Sigh, I suppose you can't win them all, but...

After a brilliant streak of Amdapor Keep runs (Why yes, I do like those relic weapons carrying me), I finally hit jackpot. Paladin decided to go Sword Oath. I'm thinking, well, he's got the ilvl55 Grand Company sword, I'm sure he's comfortable with this place.

Nope. I'm thrown around like a rag doll by vicious hippogryphs, crazy cultists and dangerous dullahans every pull. Paladin is doing nothing but spamming Rage of Halone the entire instance, which seems to work remarkably badly. We approach the first boss with dread in my heart, where I promptly get oneshot by his Void Thunder III. Then the Black Mages begin eating the massive golem's stomp or the Rockslide from the smaller ones. Then I get some more aggro and get oneshot by Void Thunder III again. After spending half an hour or so wiping at the guy, we finally get him down.

Figured I'd stick around for a shot at a Strategos Ring, and hey, maybe they'd wisen up for Demon Wall! I always used to be an optimist... Anyway, trash savages me, no Strategos Ring, yaydemonwall. Tank has the decency to be knocked off the platform the first two tries, the Black Mages eat every AoE and occasionally get knocked off, remarking that the Demon Wall has this "peculiar bug" where he throws people off the platform. I calmly explain that his Repel is actually a knockback and give them tips on how to handle it, but they do not improve and keep crying that the encounter is bugged. Foul play! And yikes, I never knew the Demon Wall could be such a nightmare to heal!

Well, I suppose I got 10 Tomestones out of it. *sob*

Worst I've had so far was a Stone Quarry run with a PLD tank who quite literally couldn't tank more than one mob.

I wish I was joking.

At one point, one of the DPS cussed me out for not being able to keep the tank alive while simultaneously being beaten on by 3 mobs the tank wasn't tanking. Apparently I'm supposed to magically be able to tank and heal at the same time! :D

...I got so mad that I didn't heal that DPS once for the rest of the instance. Every time he died, I left him dead. >.>

Since then I've refused to use the DF by myself beyond the very occasional CM run. Otherwise, I only run with people I know.

This for me too. I'm not 50 yet but it's all the same. I did the sunken temple of whatever it's called for the first time...well tried to anyway. The tank was doing exactly this and we died 3 times before I left. It's so frustrating having multiple adds on you and they interrupt your heals/kill you super fast.

Mine was Brayflox two days ago, earlier I had gone SMN, my friends WHM & DRG. We ended up with a tunnel vision tank, kept wiping long before we reached the first boss. On the first boss, the tank ignored the adds and my WHM friend died. We left and waited for the cooldown.

Later I ran with another friend, this time I was WHM. This tank did the same thing. After a wipe and several near wipes because he wasn't guarding me, we reached the first boss. Adds came out, he ignored them. So I healed me first and let him die. Tbh, I also wanted to make him rage quit. He did lol.

Now mind you, I healed in FFXI, but I have tanked NIN and tanked in WoW, so I KNOW how to tank.

I have plenty of patience for mistakes as healer if I know people are doing their best and I don't generally leave a group over wipes, but little patience for those who are just plain reckless. First time ever I purposely let a tank die too lol.

Healers are the real power, we decide who lives or dies. Be smart; don't anger your healer.

I healed with Red Mage in FFXI had the smallest mp pool of all the mages. I personally don't spam heals, and I only use Medica a handful of times in a dungeon, when everyone's taken more damage than I can heal quickly. Plus I remember how Curaga in FFXI created a huge amount of enmity for the healer so I try to use Medica, 14's version of Curaga, sparingly myself. I'm sure there are plenty of healers out there tho, that didn't play FFXI and never learned that healing in FF mmos produces aggro. =) I also healed more than my share of paladins who relied on their self-heals to produce enmity so always healed them sparingly. So due to all this, I'm very aware of the enmity that heals in FF mmos can produce.

Also, typically the larger the heal, the more enmity the healer will create for themselves as well. So even at WHM 34 in 14, I still rely on Cure and reserve Cure II for when others take larger hits than Cure can take care of easily. Healers in 14 really need to be aware of this when they heal.

Had a couple of pretty horrible runs. The worst experience i ever had was back when i was spamming Brayflox runs trying to get all the Battlemage set. I go into a progress run and see them still on first boss and the first thing i see in chat is them complaining that the healer can't heal and red flags start going off. That i find often means they screwed up and blamed the healer and after the adds spawned i was proven right. Within seconds the tank took like 4 stacks of poison along with the two DPS and well it didn't last long. Immediately i was given a ton of abuse. Turns out that basically they all know each other and this one dps is probably his girlfriend by the way she was jumping all over me for trying to explain what he was doing wrong.

So basically after a long fight we try again and it goes wrong again and they go back to abusing me. I ask them after two healers they still can't do it do they think the healer is still the problem? Of course they do. I explain i am almost complete on the Battlemage set from that very dungeon how many runs do they think i've finished? Then that girlfriend DPS says the funniest reply i have ever seen in an MMO and says "oh well there are tons of exploits in this game you probably cheated" I just left lol i didn't want anything more to do with this weird stuff.

And the other was just earlier and a shorter story. Praetorium run that was in progress. Was kind of a laugh the people seemed really nice and everything went smoothly. Anyway we get done and i'm on my way out having collected my 100 tomestones i came for and the other healer suddenly says "Good riddance. You talk a lot of shit for somebody who does nothing" I'm sorry what? Did i slap this persons mother in the face or something? I suppose i was also doing nothing when i healed them through all the AoE's they got hit by XD. The only time i didn't really do much was on the very last boss because i really don't need to do anything but cast the odd medica II when it does the AoE on everything.

So tonight, after spending hours wiping in WoW to hardmode bosses, I hopped over to FFXIV mostly to relax and level crafting. But a tank friend needed a healer, and asked me to go with him to AK to cap his tomestones.

I probably should have said no, knowing my mindset after all that wiping, but I'm a sucker.

So we get in there and it's me (WHM), tank (PLD), BLM, and DRG. Great. First boss is a little slow (couldn't figure out why, but damn it seemed like it took forever), but no biggie. Trash pulls were smooth as butter. But then...then we got to Demon Wall.

So the two DPS had this awesome idea that we'd just...tank the two Bees off to one side while they burned the Demon Wall. I asked the tank if he could stun both adds when they were about to do their AoE. He said something like, "Don't worry, I have a plan," but I still thought the whole idea was bad news. I explained my reasoning - if we couldn't burn the boss close to dead before the Bees even came out, then we probably weren't going to be able to kill it before something went terribly wrong between the line damage, repel, Murder Hole on everyone, Bee meleeing, and their Paralyze AoE. But I was willing to give it a shot because, again, I'm a sucker.

So, as you might imagine, that didn't work at all. Despite going into Cleric Stance and DPSing the wall as much as I could, it wasn't even at half health by the time the Bees came out. Then people stood in shit, I couldn't dispel fast enough (nor move fast enough while dispelling, omg, wtb instant dispel), and the Bees AoE'd everything and everyone. Eventually both DPS went over the side due to losing track of where they were.

Next attempt, I put my foot down and said we needed to do this the standard way. Okay. Well, not okay. First, DPS kept standing in everything, one of the Bees nearly one-shot the BLM (more on that later...), and the tank went over the side due to being auto-faced to his target. Lawl. Then the bee ate the rest of us.

Final time, it did eventually die just before it was going to move into the purple crap on the ground. But we did it! Whew! On to the last boss! The last boss is way easier, right?

It was about this point that I noticed that the BLM had about 1k less health than either myself or the other DPS. This became an issue when he stood in the Succubus AoE and got one shot through Stoneskin. o_O I examined his gear and was a bit confused, because he didn't seem to be undergeared or anything. Sure, he had white-quality level 49 jewelry, but so did I when I got started and I couldn't remember having so little health....

We get to the last boss. Orbs are hard, man. So the first pull, the BLM died twice. The first time was to running the orb through the tail swipe thingy (instead of straight back towards the door), and the second was to being rooted in an AoE by the raise mechanic (though I moved, it targeted him anyway). We wiped. Second pull, the BLM dies again to the same mechanic and gets raised. Then during the last AoE, I'm hiding behind the pillar, and the DrG is to my right, the BLM slightly left of me. I'm dead center of the damn pillar. But I get hit by the AoE. I got nothing - no idea how it happened. It was probably my fault but I have no idea what I did wrong. So we wipe again because the tank gets eaten.

At about this point, I notice that the BLM now has 1800 max HP, and I could have sworn he had more during the last boss. I comment in party chat, but he doesn't respond.

Third pull, the BLM drops the orb next to the pillar we're hiding behind. And I just can't heal through the damage. Fourth pull, the BLM dies twice, and the boss was at 40%+ health by the time the last pillar dissolved. Naturally, we wiped.

At this point I finally put my foot down and was like, "Nope. Not doing anymore. I don't have the stomach for this. Going to go hit trees."

...come to find out later that the BLM's gear was broken since Demon Wall.

I just... *sighs* I think I need a break from that place.

Mine is about how the party entered the room with the final boss of the dungeon and somebody skipped the cutscene and entered. Everybody else was able to get in, but I (the healer) got locked out. Had to watch the whole party get wiped.

Was doing halatali on my scholar to do my hunting log for my GC, we get in, and our tank literally had no idea what he was doing. So, I decided to be the main tank, as the scholar, and have my pet do 90% of the healing. I swear the AI of my pet was better than this gladiator.....took him 10 min to figure out you need to click on the giant glowing teleportation thingy to move to the next area, while the other 3 of us were just moving on. So I was effectively the tank, dps, and healer of a run, and I did a damn good job of it. Rest of my party was cool with it because they knew the gladiator was brain dead.

Seems in quite a few instances healing enimity has its uses: I helped out a friend a few days ago in copperbell mines, coming to last boss and both walls open after two adds for some reason. Instead of wasting time hunting down the adds, why not let the healer pop sprint and kite them with heals? Awesome idea which got the job done, but not again please...

Even better example is burning down the Demon Wall, have pulled this off once, but tanking two bees, watching floor, other peoples health and paralyze AoE, is not good for my stress levels.. and it only works by the hair.

Not a complaint, but i liked Braxyflox, its the first big wake-up call for whms at least, and the wipes are worth it to adjust your healing strategies. (that is, if the other in the team are not fate-stricken and useless)

Went into Temple of Qarn with a group of friends (i think all of them were playing with PS3) to get my final GC ranking. As a SCH, i usually don't pull aggro. On to the 2nd boss (Temple Guardian), i pulled aggro so good, the boss is on to me the first time i heal till he is down. the best part is i had to heal myself and the tank, swiftcast raise his two DPS friend and at the same time dot the boss heart. Can i say i carry them to victory? =.='

Harder the battle, the better time I generally have.
Ifrit is a snoozefest, Garuda is very fun, Titan is challenging.

I think the worst times never have anything to do with healing but people bitching each other for getting hit or not doing their jobs correct. I hate these parties where 50% of the time is used to whine.
Also, my pet peeve is when I have cast all buffs (including Succor) and everyone just stands there... GO FIGHT! Aaaaaggghhhhh :D

Not sure if this is considered healing horror but during my leveling days in Halatali.....
I was ACN that time. The other 3 Japanese players were probably friends. The tank couldn't take more than 2 hits. And the CNJ kept on dying coz of overhealing. The DD was a lancer. I don't know if all if their equipment were broken or not but I had to heal dps and tank with my carbuncle.

Came to last boss I had to resurrect all of them like 3-4 times each person. We had the boss down to 60% and I figured I could just stop rezzing and do this on my own. Topaz was really awesome doing the tank job. I left them on the floor dead and did the last boss so easy lol. I could /dance around their corpses. Fortunately the boss doesn't do much damage to me and mana isn't a problem. So I ended the boss with a limit break.

Cleared this dungeon once, never setting foot there again...

Mine was while doing a Manor run.

Our tank, a warrior, was very single minded. So single minded that he would run into a group of 3-4 mobs and only attack one of them. He would completely ignore the others and would not do any aoe. I ended up tanking most of the mobs the whole dungeon as a White Mage.

Super props go to the 2 dps that was with me. They did a great job at quickly killing the mobs one by one that I was tanking.

AK run.

Healer tells me (the tank) "tell me when u need healing"

Stone vigil, was called a scrub by a black mage for telling him to not aoe the mobs I have crowd controled.

"CC is for losers. You must be really bad at this game. You are simply wasting our time." BLM

"In that case, I could go find another group and you can wait in another hour long queue." Me

The BLM stopped aoeing.

You should have said, BLM is for those too chicken s*** to play healer or Tank.

well here goes mine

I know, i know, I have some dl pieces, but i did ifrit HM last night and first there was a tank that couldn't tank, anyway, we where 7 then because that tank died and never accepted raize, the other tank it's doing his best to stun, im healing like crazy, the dps, well, they r dpsing hehehe, nails came, blm uses meteor, last nail, everybody almost dies, I heal everybody with some help of a whm, then ifrit aggros the dps, we r only 4 now, I use white wind, suddenly (again) 3 dps die and the tank that can't tank, lb 3 charges, we r near ifrit to avoid the plume, just when the plume is casting, i use the lb once again, wb everybody and then bang, ifrit dies, after 30 mins, my hands are all sweaty after that
