Glad to see that you'd cause a wipe and give 3-7 other people repair bills all because you don't like being asked to skip a cutscene. Maybe watching it anyways and not acting like a child would be better?

Petition SE to add in the option under Duty Finder to allow first-timer or not. Win-Win.
... or, make your own group w/ people on the SAME SERVER.
I'm going to watch the cutscene. I'm interested in the story. The speed rush is of no concern to me.
By all means, watch your cut scene, I say. I'll be skipping it just in case, and waiting patiently for first timers. Seriously, it takes longer to leave, requeue and wait for a whole new group of people to watch their cut scene than to just wait. even as a tank.
Luckily, I enter all of the dungeons my first time with the same old group of people, and no one complains when we decide to watch our cutscenes. :P It makes leveling slower to stay in pace with the others, but far more fun. :P
Anyway, ignore those who bring you down for watching cutscenes.
Besides, I feel endgame you should be primarily grouping with your FC/LS members anyway and not using DF. XD
So, honest question here... The only time I've heard of my friends complaining about people watching the cutscenes were when watching said cutscenes made it so you had no room for wipes or error in said dungeon. Basically, watching the cutscenes took so long that if they made any sort of mistake, they were not going to have enough time to complete the dungeon.
I think a lot of the complaining (at 50 at least) would die down if maybe the dungeon counter didn't continue to go count down while the cutscenes were going on. I'd rather watch the cutscene, but I also want to move on with my story without having to do the dungeon a second time just because we wiped once or twice in a dungeon we've never done before.
I had one douche in my final story mission dungeon complaining about waiting because we were taking too long in the cutscenes. The only reason this guy would be there was for the storyline missions. Which tells me that this PoS skipped all of the storyline in this game, wanting only to skip towards the endgame content. What a loser. If you don't care about the storyline you don't belong in my Final Fantasy MMO.
All these complaints about people not skipping the cut scenes... to me its sitting in a theater, screaming at the projectionist to fast forward to the credits and when people complain, they casually say "LoL, just watch it on DVD/Blu-ray".
Its the same because the INN viewing is the same cut scene but not in the same context as experiencing it the dungeon and before/after fights. Those saying "it ruins my fun when people watch cut scenes", to that I ask, how does it ruin your fun. It will still take the exact same amount of time to complete with or without the cut scene. It doesn't shorten or lengthen the actual dungeon in any way, it doesn't make you do less damage, nor does it effect boss strength in any way. It merely momentarily delays your departure but a minute, maybe two. I just wish they'd add a "ring of slow your roll" during cut scenes that happen mid run. So to keep those impatient people from just pull stuff while there may be a new person experiencing the content for the first time.
The game is barely a week out of the gate, in time the majority of people will have seen all the cut scenes and most will skip through it anyways so this will happen less and less. Why not sit back and chill until then.
i have been tanking and i watch my cutscenes and give no fucks to anybody who wants to rush me cause they will die lol
My chat box disappears during cut-scenes, sooo if anyone has been yelling at me to skip I've certainly missed it. I mean if you want to go ahead and lock me out of a boss go right ahead, my story quest only requires I complete the dungeon; I couldn't give two shits about loot on my first time there. I'm dps, the group will survive without me in most cases; frankly I'd feel more pressured if I had chosen to roll a tank or healer as my first class.
I never had anyone ask me to skip cutscenes, and I fully expect people to want to watch them so I let them. Its a game that they paid for let them watch it.
I skipped cutscenes due to pressure from people in my party, but I regret it. Personally, I think the FFXIV community is shit. Complete and utter shit. I've found more respect in an FPS full of children. A lot of people in this thread prove that. Playing with randoms is the worst, so I'm going to try to play with people in my FC a lot more.
I intend to watch every cut scene, even if I've done them before, until I get bored of them. I also intend to make a macro that states I will be watching cut scenes, which I'll use whenever I enter parties, and that if any one does not like it, speak up and I'll leave. Just takes one person.
White Mage here. I pay to play how I want, just like they do. If they don't want to wait for someone to watch cut scenes, they don't have to. And I certainly don't have to group with them.

This goes for both sides of the argument.
Please complain to me while I enjoy the storyline. Harass me while I refuse to skip anything. You are the wind beneath my wings.
the tears are delicious
still might be a nice feature to rewatch viewed cutscenes from somewhere
(lemmie know if this is infact ingame and i missed it)
Please see this thread I created, as it has the best solution I could come up with for this issue.

You can from your inn room, but we shouldn't have to go back to watch it because someone else is being impatient or rude.
So much SALT in this thread. I'm going to watch every cutscene as they occur the first time during the story. What are you going to do? Beat me up? Hehe you're in for a surprise... Stay calm down my thirsty friends. Go without me, I'll catch up. Well, if you are still alive.
Edit: You know it's people in this thread why we can't send tells in dungeons. Just saying...
got this on my last story quests, they also started fights even when 2 or 3 of us were watching cutscenes, they learned to wait after finding the hard way that they cant beat bosses with 2-3 less people specially when a tank and a healer are one of them :p.
People needs to learn to wait for other ones watching the cutscenes.
To be honest ill only ever say skip a cs if im not sure we'll finish up on time. other then that... dont care really.
I don't follow the story myself, but I understand those who do and don't mind it. If there's a good story with lots of dialogue in elder scrolls online you can bet your behind I'll be reading every word and watching every scene, anyone who doesn't like it can bugger off.
What pressure? I don't even see chat while i am watching a cutscene. ^_^
And even if i did see chat, I would be too busy watching the cutscene to bother reading the chat. =P
Yeah, the one time I've ever had someone actually tell me to skip it was during the second of the 8 man dungeons at 50. The other tank said it was best if we skipped it since we might not have time to clear otherwise. From what I understand, he had gone through several groups, all wiping on ultima weapon so felt there was an actual need to skip. Turns out that we one shot all the bosses, even with us all being new, but he was nice about it from the start.
Actually, whenever cutscenes occur mid-battle the encounter stops until the target is engaged again. So if you skip your cutscene, and then go rushing into the fight again while your party roster clearly indicates people are watching the cutscene then it's your own fault. Show some patience for goodness sake.
I'll watch every cutscene as it happens when it happens. If someone is really so concerned about having to sit through a few minutes of cutscene then they should be running pre-made parties not using the duty finder. I've run dozens of dungeons, including reruns with other players. I've got no qualms about sitting through the scenes and allowing them to watch at their leisure.
In FFXI there was a timer which started upon entering any instance which made many players skip cutscenes. I'm glad they implemented a system here which doesn't have this problem, and it's just sad to think it could be ruined because so many bigots cry over a couple of minutes of video.
I play healer so what they going to do lol
If you pay the bill for me, I would consider skipping it for your sake...
But well, you're not (not you TC). I wonder for those who urge other players to skip the scene, did they skip it the first time as well though?
I will watch my cut scene for my first time. If I see any complain, after the cut scene is finished, I will just leave the duty. I don't mind 15 minutes penalty, I could get the duty finder fast anyway since I am a tank - -
edit: simple solution to piss them out even more is to make the cut scene unskipable if there is a first timer in the duty.... this would be fun.
I always let everyone calmly watch their cutscene. Even if I've already seen it. And I like it when people do the same. I had a rant to this myself and created my own thread about it. But around that time, not many people were that far in the storyline.
On another note. Best way to farm Allagan tomes = Amdapor Keep. But most people aren't competent enough for it.

I usually just skip them and watch it in the inn because I don't want to waste other people's time.
BUT, I never tell people to skip them if they want to watch it, I just wait.
I guess I'm lucky because I haven't met anyone that yells at others to skip CS.
lol. This thread makes me want to rush to 50. So much fun to be had! :3
I refuse to skip any CS because I'm playing a Final Fantasy game which are based around the story. Don't like it then go on ahead without the tank and when I'm finished with my CS I can come over and laugh at you.l
