Heeeey arent you that guy that didn't want to relate to FFXI anymore?
Oh, and did you just take my ideas? ahaha... i see what you did there...
EDIT: Let me just leave this here, in case nobody saw it yet..

Know whats funny? I've played FFXI for almost 8 years now. I've never seen Leaping Lizzy once. NOT A SINGLE TIME! Why? cause back when I would try to camp, i'd spend 3 hours killing mobs to try and force the spawn, and either I ran out of patience, or it spawned away from me, and someone else got it.
I've camped Valk. Emp. countless times over the years, I've claimed and killed it about 10 or so times, and never got the drop.
Why would I want to compete with dozens of other people over ridiculously long spawn times? The only reason is to stroke your E-peen and gloat you're victory over less fortunate people.
3-5 min respawns are very fast. But 3+ hour pops are worse. This creates a chance for everyone to get a kill and get a drop with out the bottle neck of competition.
SE did a nice thing in FFXI with abyssea and made many NM 15-20 min pops or item forced pop. I wouldn't mind seeing this in FFXIV as well.
I think is pretty damn obvious who this game caters to.
If you dont like it then go, you are punishing yourself by staying here.
The casual vs hardcore argument is weak. From both sides.
Haha Visch

These are great midlevel NMs. You can really deck a R30 out if you take the time now, i bet they will go nicely with the new battle system too.
Don't worry. The R50 NM gear will probably have a bunch of materia slots, whereas this R30 stuff may not have any slots.
This content wasn't for hardcore players. It's not going to end up being hardcore gear.
Get used to it for a while. When everyone else is happy, THEN they might pay you attention.
Saddest part about this whole tirade is that Visch and his boys spent the night stalling NMs to tie everyone else up. Don't you just wish Square made a game for THEM again? Boy I sure do. That'd be AWESOME.
Read nothing on the topic. Just, these are middle-rank nm, what do you expect in difficulty ? And i suppose the fair major of you killed it with a bunch of 50 in there <_<
Makes me wonder how the new claiming system will work with these ;o
I don't care about the 3-5min respawn, I don't care on the easy nature of these "M"s (NM's lol). What I don't understand is the nerfing of the current "NM"s. Seriously, they were easy as hell before, and now we get a 10% PERCENT increase to almost all stats, and they make these joke NMs even easier??????
Dodore now has 3 minions, Uraeus now takes 7mins to kill, and the Mosshorn has like 3 goats with him... Seriously.. Thats the biggest let down. Guess Peregrine, and his "lolcrew" can actually kill em now.
Okay so...you're telling me that you killed it with less than 8 before with no 10% buffs, and full minions, but now that we can ONLY use 8 and have an insane buff we need to make it easier?
Just doesn't make sense. Everything else in this update doesn't even matter, that nerf is a game breaker for me.
They just made the game go from a shitty, sub-par end game to having zero end game.
Well, if they were designed to be easy, they will continue to be easy in the future too.
I don't think content like that should be that 'hard' anyway, since you're risking faction points. Kinda like BCNM's. Do it once, it may seem tough, do it 5 times, business as usual.
For mid-level NMs that drop rare/ex armour or weapons that cannot be sold (except to NPC) I really don't get why a fast respawn time is a problem?
And cutting the difficulty on the "harder" NMs makes sense as stated before, considering the party size has just been restricted to 8 members. It's all relative scaling for smaller groups until such a time if/when the ability to form alliances is introduced.
Actually we went as low as six.
Of course it makes perfect sense, probably because I'm aware of the fact (while some around here, you included, seem not to be aware of that), that being an heavily hardcore gamer, belonging to a heavily hardcore linkshell, with a lot of very well geared and experienced people, I'm part of a small minority, and as such I can't demand to have content designed specifically over me, especially when the game LACKS content for everyone.Quote:

It's that simple.
I honestly find it bizarre that anyone could think 5 minute pops is a good thing.
COMPLAINT SANDWICH LACKS MAYO.
This is the answer to claim wars. You're welcome.
Maybe you mean "accessible" as "you can come along since we have a free spot, even if you're almost completely useless if you're not a healer"?
Not everyone has a linkshell with enough level 50s to back them up. The content wasn't designed to be the be all, end all of difficulty. They "nerfed" player groups, and they dropped the NMs as well, by pretty much the same amount, to keep the difficulty costant.
I am not responding to your ignorant, and unrelated post.
P.S: Do you play on Wutai as "Len Moss"? :~)
No one said "end all of difficulty" but you have to admit the ease of which these NMs were killed with groups of 5-6 people was laughable, and now we get a 10% bonus to all stats?
Like I said, they went from having a "shit, sub-par end game" to now having zero end game.
Yeah this is really stupid, this game is following the western MMO trend. Take 3-6 months to add content, make it so it's doable in 1 day-1 week. Everyone then afks for months with nothing to do, yay! Retarded -_-
First of all, you get a 10% bonus *only* to accuracy and HP, that's very far from "all" stats (and it's only 5% if it's less than 8 people).
Secondly, it for sure couldn't be killed that easily by 5-6 average people. SE doesn't and shouldn't design a game specifically over the most hardcore players.
Want an higher challenge? you're not forced to bring 8. You sure are given that option. Use it. You even get a better change at drops.
Your use of hyperbole is a tad appalling. I'm quite anxious to know who are you to decide what constitutes valid end game?Quote:
Like I said, they went from having a "shit, sub-par end game" to now having zero end game.
This is a stupid thread.
stupid...
Accuracy, HP, and MP. Okay, not all stats. Just the more prevalent ones... I myself need no challenge, nor drops since I been low manning these NMs since release.
Why should the only "end game" content be designed for average players to "low man" them?
Also, I'm no guru, but this game as zero end game....IMO.
Each patch? where did I say that? I just disagree with the nerfing of the already laughable end game we had.
*clap* very deep. I'm not sure why I'm still here? Why are you still here? Maybe through understanding each other we can both find the answer to that most philosophical of inquiries.
I'm not excusing their development failings but they are basically starting from the ground up with the new team, or at the very least the 3 or 4th floor of a 100 story building. No matter what crazy analogy I use including the one about the Unicorn not being built in a day. You don't start rebuilding something from the 100th floor down or re-writing a book from scratch from the words "The End". Things move forwards, which, yes, means that fancy end game content is coming near the back somewhere as opposed to right up front.
Actually it's designed for average players, while players that feel elite can low-man it if they want. Why? because average players payed for the game as much as you and me, and they are a LOT higher in numbers.
The IMO is a good step on the right direction. Doesn't really cut it, though, since the NMs are obviously content for high level players = endgame. Saying that this game has zero endgame is simply making a false statement.Quote:

Hardcore is a dying breed, is this a good thing? I don't know, but i certainly won't miss their complaining.
Seriously though, this patch is something to entertain newer / lower rank characters and hopefully get them to stick around longer. Can they kill every single one of these NM's and get all the gear in one day? Possibly, if they play all day and have no RL commitments.
Stop treating NM's like endgame >.>.
Its not a false statement because endgame, from what I understand = challenging content for end of the game players... Not some casual stroll in the park content that anyone with 4 people can do now.
Correction it WAS designed for average players, they could use 10 or more people to kill.. Now average players can low-man because of this beautiful patch.
Exactly, because they aren't.
They drop gear around 25-35 and most aren't soloable by R50 people, let alone R35, I guess this is SE's attempt to give low ranks NMs for them to group for and fight, pretty good gear for their ranks.
Been seeing 4-6 man PTs fight Kokoroon (34-41) and winning so there you go, they get to have fun too.
And the drops aren't 100% but not rare enough to be ridiculous. (why make getting low rank gear near impossible anyhow)
I like em, any whiners should just stick to the good old NMs we have instead of complaining about these little ones.
See we have something in common. I also gave SE about a year to make the game playable (which was based on the fact that FFXI took about a year to be good ie. the NA release). The clock reset when the new dev. team came in. I thought it was unrealistic and somewhat unfair not to give them that benefit. I will likely give them longer than my own deadline of December 2011 though.
