Back from Distant Worlds Chicago and sad to see 14 got more love and attention there then it has here.
seriously how are some of these small, but very nessicary things just not getting done....is it really that much work, are they really that steeped into the battle system that not a single person could work on BASIC missing features that have been pissing people off from day 1......reallly?
As stated by the Development Team, the problem that is holding up linkshell administration (as well as mail system, seeking party flag, etc) is the Core Programming issues. There is a team working on those CP issues. Once that team finishes fixing those issues, then the other teams can begin working on implementing better party and linkshell control mechanisms ... among other things.
With 1.18 coming up, and 1.19 hopefully not too far behind that, maybe they'll have time to throw us a bone or two soon. We don't need everything at once SE, just a feature or two to tide us over, to help managing LS become more manageable.
Currently we have a maximum of 129 open spaces in a linkshell. This limit is not a problem; however the issue we do have is when people stop playing we can not remove them from the linkshell the only method is to crush the shell and make an entire new Linkshell. We need a method to be able to manage and edit out Linkshell's. We can not remove anyone currently unless they are standing within a few feet from us. I myself run a very successful Linkshell on Saronia but about 10-15 of our members no longer play the game and thus i can not remove them from our list unless i wish to create a new linkshell.
Also a Linkshell Shield customize would be nice... the current sets are cool but dull from a customizing point of view.
So yes i support this topic....
Square Enix needs to "seriously chastise" whoever developed the core programming, or whoever's fault these core programming issues are, whoever it is, is seriously the cause of who knows how much delayed content we'll "rumor" monger about.
Seriously on a side note, can you get your lil web ninjas to redo the FFXIV page, most mmos use their main website to properly represent their game, and as of current the website isn't cutting it. The lodestone/ffxiv forum links could be a wee bit more prominent too.
I wonder if we'll ever get about of forum beta :/
Abaddon just broke and reformed for the second time as well. There should have never been a first time. Why hasn't this been fixed yet?
I don't understand why you can add, remove and invite people from your Friend's List from anywhere in the game, yet Linkshells are restricted to "in your face" only. It seems like it's the same basic concept.
I get that we have been given an answer, but it's pretty inexcusable that this has been an issue since Closed Beta. We are playing an MMORPG that barely allows the playerbase to group together. No one is looking for an overhaul right now, the players simply desire the same basic functionality that already exists in the game in a different form.
Crystal Tool Limitations
bump.............
Again, what the hell is going on, they build all this new stuff but they fail to account for the simplest of additions.
Fix ths ASAP please!
Indee Mcrill, what the hell is going on? We desperately NEED this. Much much much more than we need settlements and ecampments. Or really anything else that's in 1.18, if I could be so bold.
Well we have re-shelled for the 4th time and it's getting pretty frustrating for us all. It's way past time that SE should have addressed this problem. Reward the players who have stuck through this entire process from Beta, and allow us to rid the Linkshells of long gone players ! Please :)
Please try to give us an update on this, it's very important to the community.
The ability to remove LS members needs to be given high priority.
Been almost a year now.
My LS and I quit for half a year hoping we would return to a functioning LS system. -.- I really hope this will be a priority soon. I have not been adding anyone to our LS, or even wanting to try because the system is so terrible and the fact that they have to be literally standing in front of me to kick them out is annoying. We can be in the same town and I still have no options.
I am starting to beleive this crystal engine can't do much else other then look really good and be a pain in the @$$ to get anything to actually work without huge amounts of effort...
I love this game but I won't be using the LS system very much or inviting new members until it's fixed...
I hope this thread gets the attention it deserves. Our player built communities are important... and the LS system is a huge part of that.
Please fix the LS system, SE. :(
Noctura makes a good point, player built communities are indeed very important. Those that established a LS have worked very hard to try and make things better for the players on thier server. Right now however with no way of removing inactive LS members it's a nightmare to run one and many have giving up on it.
Bayohne, get on it! Please :( <3
I was more hinting at doing it from the LS list like you can do through social, some people have crazy retarded long names I'd rather avoid typing in like the one guy on Trabia name Crowwwwwwwwwwwww Wwwwwwwwwwwww give or take a few w's. Wanna /pcmd that?
On topic Honorable Souls has been revived, broken and reformed and already tons of inactives cluttering up my LS not even a week later.
I fully support the OP. We had to re-pearl the whole Reddit LS on Figaro simply because we could not remove members who were not online and had more or less left the game. With the 1.18 patch we'd hit the LS capacity within a matter of hours and had zero options for making more room.
We all get those bad eggs in every shell as well.... I would like to be able to kick the trolls or demote someone who is unable to conduct proper "leader" behavior. It is leaving us in a position where we have to destroy our LS and restart leaving the people offline not knowing what happened.
Please SE.... FIX THIS!!!!
-Lucifer
Yes please. More LS functionality. Add/Remove players. LS achievements. LS levels. Member ranks. Event calendars with invitations people can accept/decline. Right now, LS's are just broken chat rooms.
add to this the ability to have more than 128 members in a shell please.
I'm a master and I agree these changes are needed badly. I run a website as well, and we vote to reform the linkshell when we have a huge list of inactive players, my active members hate doing it...
-Promoting/demoting/ousting online members no matter where they are.
-I can understand them being online for the above changes to be made, but... maybe (for the inactive members) let it be allowed to oust them if they have been inactive for a long period.
-The cap is ridiculous, atleast to me. I don't remember there being a cap in XI, then again, you only saw members who were online in the linkshell list.
If linkshell administration was set up the same as XI's, I don't think I'd have any problems.
Regardless, changes are desperately needed for easier ls management.
Those that run a linkshell are some of the most loyal players that SE has. They put alot of work into welcoming new players to the game and help them to learn how everything works. They want to invite people in but can't cause there tired of reforming.
Result, new players get bored doing things solo and go to another game. Serious issue.
I agree with OP and other posters pushing for LS admin tools.
It should be as much of a priority as adding new content, SE. Original issues need to be dealt with before you can start messing with everything else.
bumping since people let this fall so far down and others are posting new threads on it
*Bump*
I would like to see ls admin too as our ls is going to be overflood too and having some admin control would be nice
bump. bump bump bump bump..
I agree with the OP...SE has stated that they learned alot from their past mmo so... implement it. I have talked with alot of players and this another thing that needs to be implemented. Bring back /lsmes and admin tools for LS leaders.
...and bump again!
Bump too. I long for the day that the LS UI is revised. However, until then, I'm willing to deal with text commands. My LS is starting to inch ever closer to it's max member count, and kicking the inactive players, or at least an LSMES that allows us to inform returning players that we've reformed, would be nice.
We're asking for the simple stuff for now, SE. You can always re-do the UI later but at least give us a bit more control other than inviting/kicking people that have to be within 5 feet of you.
Also, and a ~little~ shifting of the topic, it would be cool if we could send/receive messages within the F-List. It would be cool if I could send people invites to our LS via a message while they are offline. That way we don't have to be completely on the look-out for each other every moment of the day to get them a pearl. Since there's no actual trading of a pearl, and nor does it take inventory space, I think this should be an option as well (for the future).
What feedback is there to give?
The current system sucks, it's been a year and nothing's been done about it.
We can remove party members from a distance with a text command, how hard can it be to do the same with LSs?
We don't want a complete overhaul, we just want the basic features you would expect from a game that came out in 2010.
