I wonder if their registration servers will crash like in the 1.0 beta and you kept timing out and couldn't register your code once the emails will go out. SE account systems seems to can't handle so many people signing up at once.

FFXIV reminds me most of FFVI. Remember Zozo, or Owzer's mansion? If VI were in HD, I'm sure the dungeon-in-a-painting would look a bit like this new instance.
All I care is if the game will fix the GCD, it will decide if I play it or don't play it, yes GCD does make a difference.
What is GDC?
They said that at high level spell/action would take time to be used again so the GCD would be over by then. They also said that higher your level the lower the GCD is so once you reach a point the GCD wont even bug you they also said gear would factor in that GCD. If what i'm saying make no difference and you wont play a game due to small thing like GCD. Then i'll just say SE can't make everyone happy and seeing the unhappy people go wont make a difference.
SE can't make everyone happy the sooner SE realize this fact the sooner we can have a better game.
Not completely true - all the abilities can have their own cooldowns, however, there is a set space of time between which each ability / spell can be activated. Just because there is a Global Cooldown, does not mean that abilities don't have their own individual cooldowns as well.
This can be seen in the Alpha videos that when some of the spells are activated (for example, Sprint) all the other abilities are also put on whatever the Global Cooldown is, however even once the Global Cooldown has completed, Sprint still has a long time before it can be reused.
Version 1.0 did actually have a global cooldown built into it, once they updated the battle system it sat at about 1.5 seconds rather than the previous (I believe) 2 seconds. If you mashed the button you would be told "Can't do that yet" but after necessary time it would fire off.
Despite the animation lock and such, that is all just visuals - you could fire off moves while other animations where active, particularly common for archers and those who used throwing weapons to build extra TP even while doing other attacks, but only when the Global Cooldown was up - it just wasn't visually represented.
