Zantetsuken your ring is sick! Also Mr.Kupo your aetheryte ring is my fav so far. I hope they expand the contest and make both of your rings win!

Reading between the lines though, only the winners get their ring right? lol. As in no one else is ever going to get these rings? Am I wrong?

EDIT: Although, the stats suck on your ring MrKupo so if it does win I really hope they like triple or quadruple the stats on it!! Also I'm sad that it's called a Kupo ring when it has flashy Aetheryte effects!

As a bonus, here's a very early design I was working on. Abandoned it because I thought it was too medieval and I just wasn't happy with where it was going.

All the rings here are good. I just hope some don't get picked cause they put stats on them that are not even in the game. I thought they wanted you to add stats so the dev team could get a idea how to add the stats to it.

That is not an issue since they clearly disclaim they will change the stats at their convenience.

Yeah they stated anything could be changed if the ring has been picked.

To be honest, I didn't really spend as much time as I would have liked to on my entry, but I tried to think about FFXIV and these forums. I think it would be really neat to have the gem eyes light up at night~~

The ring is: Camate's Charm
Basically:
Day Time - Regen +2
Night Time - Strength +22 Double Attack +2

You used the Spiritbond usage idea similar to mine. I really like the idea of having another use for a spiritbond.

ok one of the ring's on the first page that person who title the damuld / realm reborn ring evedently did not read the rules whare as you cant use any thing created by se or trade mark chocobo,moggle damuld realm rebore are trade marks of se and most who did create succh wont be accepted i remember reading about that in the rules

Damn that's a lot of rings down the drain as they use the lore of FFXIV in the rings themselves. Hopefully they meant derivatives are ok but not blatant cut and paste from the game.

I'm pretty sure the rule was that you couldn't use their assets - as in making copypasta of their already existing work and calling it yours. That would invalidate the purpose of having a contest at all - someone could just photoshop their inventory icons around and poof! new ring with no effort!

Once you submit a ring for the contest, that design becomes property of Square Enix, whether they use the ring or not. Once you click "Send," it's theirs - they might as well have drawn it; you have no rights. They can't make that acquisition if they already own what you're submitting - and it's a violation of copyright law to try at all. Trademark symbolism is a little different.

They have nothing to worry about if it uses a moogle or a chocobo - they already own them. You won't be profiting from their creations, they will - it just has to be original work created for the contest. Hell, under those rules even my custom phoenix would be suspect for using "too similar qualities," as inspiration was taken from several generations of Final Fantasy phoenixes combined into one.

Long and short - I think you're fine as long as you didn't just drag their existing assets around (which, to be fair, the first ring you mention did do in part of their design - and they admitted to such and were fine with it being DQ'd if it had to be).

It would be pretty lame for Square Enix to say "FINAL FANTASY CONTEST!"

That doesn't mean if you had a good name/stats on them they wouldn't use it, instead of putting random stuff >.>. No need to be an ass hat about it. That also means they would not change the ring, some of the rings made i could see them using everything from the name and the stats.

found on an asteroid impact site.

The crystal glows at night and gives the bearer magical power.
Not many rings are known to exist.

Im reaching the max number of images I can display on the main page. Few images on main page arent showing up at all.

Stats are definitely a little overboard, but the general idea is, you would get a bonus for being a full LS party. Similar to the full party bonus.

Could be a tiered quest line, that gives you a % boost on stats. Maybe a 1%, 2%, 3% boost, max cap of course similar to food.

Based on the fact that they're not telling the winners who won until Launch Day for 2.0, and that 1.23 officially ends in November ... something tells me this contest is going to be kind of a roller coaster.

By the time the winners are informed, they're just going to be like, "I won a what? What contest?"

It's the contest page itself. I guess you could read it multiple ways, but it seems clear enough to me.
