So, what, you're going to keep rewarding the devs for the predatory system by just continuing to pay them? Yikes.

Rewarding the devs? Really? Or, and hear me out: I enjoy playing xiv enough to put up with the things I don't. When that balance tips, I'll leave.
But I still think the things that are bad and predatory are those things and should get better- even if I leave and don't come back. I thought it was bad before I had my nice house, I think it's bad now.
I love that my "I'm frustrated with this and it's compounding on things I'm frustrated with and I'm hitting the point of leaving." Has compounding in your mind to "I hate all this but I'll reward the devs with my money."
Unserious.
Well good luck to you. I don't see how continuing to pay them and praying they will just get bored of taking your money will work, but here's hoping.
As an aside neither roleplay nor virtual housing is exclusive to FFXIV so you don't really have any excuses for continuing to support a system you supposedly dislike.
Thanks! I'll continue to leave feedback as I have and quit if I feel it's no longer worth it to engage at all like I said before.
I enjoy those things in ffxiv though. Which is the point.
Since it's hard for some people to get.
Right now the things I enjoy in xiv > Than the things I don't enjoy despite my gripes.
When the things I dislike > the things I don't. I'll stop playing.
Until then I'll provide feedback in hopes that the things I dislike don't continue to grow, and things I like do.
I enjoy my house and my rp in xiv so I stay. I can, and do, engage in those things in other games. So I play those games. If xiv stops being fun enough, I'll simply continue in those games and save the money.
Do you get it now or is that still too much?
To hell with that, I have two Mediums on Maduin and I'm only a day away from giving away the FC one to someone's rando alt who wanted a free house and the personal will get demolished right after since I can't hand it off to someone else.
Housing has to be the most grossly overrated feature in the entire game, and I'm actually looking forward to moving to a world on Primal that has no housing plots (or even apartments) because I'm 100% over how useless and predatory owning property truly is after it kept me trapped on a dead data center for way too long.
It doesn't help that they recently canned a good chunk of their USA division, so there's probably only a skeleton crew running things over there, and their hands may be further tied by needing correspondence with/permission from Square-Enix in Japan to even try to do anything.
I have been wondering if we need to put reviews... or... when there is a livestream... throw demands for answers on there. Since the devs are clearly ignoring the NA side, like most people here have mentioned.
Food for thought. Please don't hate me if you don't agree. I am not saying we MUST do this. I am just throwing out an idea :)
Speak out: SE Livestreams, CC tournaments, encourage creators to bring it up during interviews with Yoshi-P.
I’m under the belief that every live event, review, and tech support ticket matters. We are quite literally losing the value of the product we paid for, on top of a monthly subscription and the price of the expansion, all because some node in Texas isn't working with NTT?
If I’m assuming correctly—or maybe it's their server infrastructure—all we know is that something is going on on their side, and they clearly haven't done enough to mitigate the issue.
People already do that. For example, they've spammed live letter chats about job changes they don't like. Mostly, they don't read out comments from the stream (they only did that a lot during the pandemic), and when they do it they usually read the Japanese comments. If they read an English comment they obviously cherry pick one that is cosy for them or read it in a way that shifts blame away from SE like "NA has been getting DDoS a lot recently :(".
Now, if certain content creators like MrHappy or Preach bring it up, they will definitely see it. There is a proven influence that they have, because they changed the alliance raid ilvl cheese after MrHappy brought it up and they repeatedly prioritise Preach for interviews. So I
If there is a significant enough volume of tickets about it, they'll also struggle to ignore it as well, because they will have to tell their superiors it's a big burden, and those superiors will have to flag it up to the top.Quote:

Just stuff like "can I have a refund for time lost due to DDoS" or "can you help me, I keep disconnecting every 9 hours along with my entire party in the middle of raid prog" or "my solo DD run got ruined, can you restore my save file please". Those support tickets will go nowhere, of course, but it'll create noise that is hard to ignore.
I think all of this is already happening, by the way. They most likely implemented the DD change to help with DDoS due to tickets they were getting. They most likely report DDoS on the lodestone as a result of getting tickets about it. Because ones which don't affect a lot of people go unreported on the lodestone.
I mean, yeah. The social media team is completely separate from the actual devs and they're under very strict instruction and NDAs as to what they can or can't say. Keep in mind that they know about unreleased content as well as are entirely unable to make any promises. All their communications need express approval from higher ups if they're about the state of the game. Not to say that we can't make a fuss on social media to get attention but don't expect a reply from the socmed team over it lol. Contracted or sponsored streamers/creators might also be under NDA though from what I can tell squenix isn't actually that anal about critiques (a gacha company had my friend sign a sponsor contract that stated he couldn't talk about his favorite characters during the sponsored streams lmao). We're more likely to get some communication if a respected community creator(s) brings up DDoS issues in a serious critique.
When I say streams I mean the ones featuring Yoshi-P. He slips things all the time that he didn't intend to, such as revealing slightly more about future content than he was going to. But he still tries to guard what he says so that he doesn't reveal things too soon. He has no script in streams or interviews, except the bullet points in the presentation.
DDOS again tonight, maybe if many, many players keep posting every single time they experience a DDOS, we'll get a response from SE. Here's hoping.
AND AGAIN, even with Nord VPN installed.
Yoshi P Do something about it...
I think, at this point, the only thing you can hope for is some kind of temporary shutdown of the game on a complete basis.
If this is a DDoS series, then SE Legal has to get involved and put an end to it.
If it's not, then the entire infrastructure is borked and there's no point continuing until it can be fixed and secured.
Just got on after a long day and not 5 minutes into it, poof. 700 queue.
only reason i aint unsub is cause of housing, but man, am i thinking abt it
And that seems to be some degree of clockwork.
If this is a DDoS, it's an outfit that knows what it's doing, and has one goal: The end of FFXIV.
And they may well get it.
I just lost a Pilgrim's Traverse run (just doing 11-20 right now to get the weekly loot) and I logged back within 10 mins. It threw me back into the queue to start 11-20 over again! I swear SE for the love of GOD, do something!
if not fix soon... savage week will be hard for everybody...
This only happens on NA for some reason, on EU.. rarely. So I imagine this doesn;t happen on Japan and since SE caters to Japanese players the most good luck getting them to fix this since it only happens on NA.
Once it happens on Japan.. i bet SE will do something about it right away because the flood of posts on the Japanese forums which they look at lol.
All we can do is keep flooding this and other posts/forums like it and hope it gets noticed. I understand SE is a JP company and they would fix it fast if it happened on JP. But I'm not ready to give up personally. We just have to keep getting numbers of people to post everytime it happens. It's gonna get annoying enough when there's thousands doing it.
question, It all PC version of FFXIV doing that or ps5/xbox doing too ? because one of my friend said dont have disconnect on console version ?
In the past, NA had spambot problem, and YP didn't seem to believe it was an issue, until he went to an NA server for an event and saw firsthand the sheer scale of the issue.
So theoretically, if YP tried to raid on NA servers for an event, and ran into the DDOS issues himself, maybe he'd change his mind? Or would he insist that there's no issues/the issue is with the ISP/routing?
just kinda sad they are oblivious and blind to the issues that happen on NA, it is like 2 different pictures. They assume if all is well on Japan and Japanese forums sound and happy.. then it applies to NA OCE and EU too. Sad because we all more or less pay the same thing but gets different varying degrees of service. Even for Liveletters unless its an expansion we don't get translations, even some events and products.. more skewed to Japan. I get it.. it's a Japanese made game but when you cater to global audience and still focus on Japanese players it is an issue esp when you getting DDOS issues day after day on NA.
Everyone should cancel their subs in NA which is about 60% of the player base then they might take the hint and start fixing the problems. I think only way they will ever doing anything if starts costing them.
It's all versions. As another poster said the console client isn't as finicky as the PC client which will kick you off within moments of no response where the console version won't until the servers say no. Apparently there is another added layer too in that PSN apparently routes through ATT nodes instead of NTT which would further protect them from the DDoS.
They need to be more transparent about what theyre doing to mitigate this, seems like we're just left in the dark about it
Let us know whats going on Square and if you are making any progress
Its funny because if you were playing before the patch you would know that this has been happening since October.
At this point SE are being willfully ignorant
again.. stop it...
They can't or won't. This is either something SE Legal has to step in on or they have to shut the game down. Either-or.
Another hit, during my Mentor Roulette in a MSQ.
SE really should make a statement on what's happening, is it DDOS attacks or is it stability because there's so many players these days.
15:02 east time AGAIN....
